Thai-Cambodian Troops Clash
Fighting has again flared up between Thai and Cambodian troops today. Soldiers exchanged rocket and small arms fire along a disputed stretch of their border. It's the latest incident in a long-running feud over a 900-year-old Hindu temple. Both sides accused each other of firing first. This latest clash lasted nearly an hour, but there are no reports of wounded or dead. Eagle Field, near the Preah Vihear temple, is again the center of a military standoff between these two Southeast Asian neighbors. The Cambodia general guarding the temple says a Thai patrol crossed into Cambodia and opened fire on his men. Thai authorities are denying these allegations saying Cambodian soldiers started shooting first. Thai and Cambodian military commanders on the border have agreed to meet to avoid further violence. Tensions rose last month when 100 Thai troops crossed into a disputed area near the temple. The border had been quiet for months while the two neighbors sought to work out the border. The Preah Vihear Temple sits on a slope that forms a natural border between the two countries. The International Court of Justice awarded it to Cambodia in 1962.

How a Border Collie works
This is a demonstration of a young Border Collie at the beginning of training showing her natural instincts. It is a good example of what a Border Collie does naturally. We are fetching goats around the pen. She is keeping at the 6:00 position with myself at 12:00 if you think of a clock. Goats are in the middle.. She does do a little circling, but not bad. I can change her directions easily by lifting my arm as a block and stepping into her path. To stop her we back up to the fence and stop the motion and ask her to lie down in the correct position. This is how you would do a call off too. Step through the stock and block the dog from fetching again. Blocking the dogs movement eventually will get you a stopped dog whether standing or downing. Then you can catch them. You might need a stock stick or rake when you do this. I didn't need anything with this dog as she was very sensitive.

Savia Andina - Flor de un día
I loved the song from the very first time I heard it and wanted to see it uploaded and above all to share it with everyone that felt the same way I did. As I was searching for pictures that could match with this beautiful inspiration, Machu Picchu was the first thing that crossed my mind. I'm quite aware of the fact that all countries are equally special and unique and that History has played a particular role to each and every one of them whether we talk about alliances or enmities throughout the human timeline. However, both Bolivia and Peru share the same historical background, if we take into consideration the fact that Bolivia was part of the Inca Empire as well. They still share as a natural border Lake Titicaca where according to the myth, Sun's both children were born in order to found the Empire. Furthermore, both Bolivia and Peru are still using until today Quechua, the one and only officially spoken language the period during which the Incas ruled the entire area. In no way could I ever tell or exactly convey the idea that Savia Andina had in mind when they wrote this song. This is NOT an official video. This is not a response on behalf of them. This is not a documentary, a statement, nor a manifesto. This is just a mere interpretation of the indelible impression that both Machu Picchu and Savia Andina continue to leave on me. ps: When I visit Peru, I'll be listening to music from Bolivia.

Thai-Cambodian Temple Agreement
Some good news to start out todays broadcast. An ongoing conflict has come to an end between Thailand and Cambodia over a temple on the border of the two countries. Heres the story. The Preah Vihear temple, or Khao Phra Viharn as it is known in Thailand, sits on an escarpment that forms the natural border between the two countries and has been a source of tension for generations. The International Court of Justice awarded it to Cambodia in 1962, but the ruling did not determine the ownership of 4.6 sq km of adjoining scrubland, leaving considerable scope for disagreement. Thai and Cambodian troops have manned the area in a tense standoff. The row intensified last year when Cambodia won United Nations approval for the temple to become a world heritage site and Thailand feared it was losing ground. Four soldiers died in a shoot out last October during what became an eight month armed stand off. However now the two countries say they have agreed to put their differences behind them and work together over the issue. At a meeting of the Cambodia's prime minister, Hun Sen and Thailand's defense minister if was agreed that both sides will withdraw troops and seek to de-mine the area. [Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia]: "I think we can accept the agreement that there are no troops in the area around Preah Vihear pagoda and temple. We also agree to create a temporary task force to de-mine together in that area and also create a border committee to determine the border ...

HiDef: Amtrak Trains of the North East
The Amtrak "Adirondack" and "Vermonter" are featured in this video. 10-11-09 Amtrak 68 heads south bound along Lake Champlain (the natural border to New York and Vermont). The location is just south of Port Henry, New York. I set up just in time (a little unlevel I think), the train was running over 25 minutes late and I also arrived late because I kept stopping for pictures of the amazing Vermont foliage on the way, plus the Bridge To New York is under construction and we sat for several minutes. Thank goodness no cars were coming! Several other fans were up on the rock cliff. P42DC 16 leads the train, which features the Adirondack dome car. 10-13-09 Just south of Montpelier along Route 12, Amtrak 55 bangs along a mix of jointed and welded rail on NECR's mainline. Although there is some snow in this shot, just a few miles north in Montpelier there was about 1.5 inches on the ground and was the first snowfall of the season. This train runs push-pull due to the wye at Essex Jct. towards Burlington and back. P42DC's 108 and 103 power the train; some foliage can be seen here, although much of it is in the Green Mountains, you haven't seen foliage until you take route 125 in the fall! Later, we catch up to the train at White River Junction, we beat it because we can travel fast down I89. It was on time and arrives at 11:05 AM. There was no snow this far south, but some rain. There is some foliage here too; also, the Vermont Railway's Green Mountain White River Flyer is ...

Refugees flood Congo-Brazzaville
The UN refugee agency in Congo-Brazzaville says it is expecting more displaced people to pour in from the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo. The UN agency says that more than 120000 refugees are already crammed into camps in Congo-Brazzaville. They escaped ethnic fighting in the region and have been placed into 90 sites along a 500km stretch of the river Ubangi - the natural border between the two Congos. Many refugees are saying that they cannot go back to the DR Congo because they fear government forces and rebel militia groups, who the refugees claim are attacking people from their ethnic groups. DR Congo's massive mineral wealth has drawn in neighbouring countries into the conflict, exacerbating the refugee crisis. According to the New York-based Human Rights Watch (HRW), more than 1400 civilians have been murdered this year by both Congolese troops and rebels, sparking Africa's worst refugee crisis. The UN maintains the world's largest peacekeeping force in the DR Congo with some 19000 so-called blue helmets deployed in the country. And yet Fatoumatta Lejeune Kabba, the UNHCR spokesman in Congo-Brazzaville, says that nearly three months into this emergency, not even a quarter of the needs of the refugees have been met. Al Jazeera's Mohammed Addow reports from Liboko, Congo-Brazzaville, the centre of Africa's worst refugee crisis. [February 16, 2010]

People for Bikes
PeopleForBikes.Org first approached Rabbit Content with the concept of a stationary bicycle that would sit alone on the street. A curious passerby would then take the initiative and jump on, starting to pedal. Massive art murals would descend from rooftops and cover buildings as the wheels began to spin - painting scenes of natural life coupled with urban renewal.
Rabbit Content and Black Swan immediately saw an element that needed adjustment. Biking is a celebration of movement, freedom, exploration and exercise. Immediately the process shifted to a biker in motion. Stationary murals transformed to moving pieces of art that would manifest as the bike passed locations. With a spark of brilliance an idea was born: live light projection as the art.
To show the diversity of bike riding culture the single rider became three riders: a daily commuter, a casual rider and BMX riders. Peopleforbikes.org was pleasantly surprised at this iteration of their ideal and the proverbial wheels starting moving for Black Swan director Nick Losq and Rabbit Content co-director Trevor McMahan.
Animation that bordered on whimsical, innocent and fun became a foundation that the final product was built on. Brian Gossett, an artist whose touch meshed well with Nick and Trevor's vision, was brought in to illustrate the elements. Under the guidance of design director Bradley Munkowitz, the unique characters began to fit into the theme of renewal: flora and fauna that would provide a stark and bright contrast to the dark and empty concrete jungle.
By building on bicycle elements (gears, pedals, handlebars, etc…) the natural elements began to take a unique shape that personified the mission. Black Swan then began the process of breathing life into these elements through animation. Landscapes were created that would serve to show a lasting and immediate change in the urban environment, as well as the generation of a convergence point where all the varied elements would coalesce into a livable space.
Keeping with the theme of nature, a park seemed to be the obvious choice as it combined the elements of lighting and concrete of an urban environment with hills, grass, blooming sunlight and a calm stream. Key to the process of execution was live testing on tech scouts. Black Swan hit the streets to scout the perfect locations in downtown Los Angeles. With some test animation the projection height, width and brightness were measured and adjusted per the initial animation tests.
In order to manifest one of the most important aspects of peopleforbikes.org, COMMUNITY, Rabbit and Black Swan set up a celebration at the point of convergence for the hero bike riders. Armed with a cadre of DJs and L.A.'s famous Koji BBQ truck, the team managed to swing a sizable crowd to witness, live, the projections that had been painstakingly put together to meet the expectations of the client.
Two long nights of shoots followed. With the collaboration of DPs Jackson+Karinja (another part of the Rabbit team), Nick and Trevor took over the streets of downtown. Fluidly moving with the bikers, they captured the fun and free spirit of the ride from the backs of vans, skateboards and free-hand Segways.
"The altruistic aspect of this job really motivated us to do great work above and beyond. Additionally, exercising our post muscles in the pre-production stage for live animation projections on shoot day was an exciting experience that, we feel, turned out to be a great success. Seeing the reactions of the gathered crowd during the shoot and watching the final project really makes me proud to be a part of this." - Nick Losq.

I HEART BOY - BOOK PREVIEW
With an erotic softness and quiet confidence, the young, fully-nude subjects in I Heart Boy exhibit a willingness to be celebrated by all for their beauty and openness. Posing in the intimacy of their own homes, often in studio apartments in Manhattan’s East Village and Lower East Side, lanky, hairless bodies are posed sensually against the minimalist backgrounds of naturally lit rooms with sparse furnishings.
Welcome to today’s gay ideal of the male nude, an aesthetic with nods to Larry Clark and the 80s underground music scene, and appreciated by the likes of designer Hedi Slimane, American Apparel, and the most popular indie bands from New York, L.A., London, Paris, and Berlin. Yatrofsky’s waif-like men—merely boys just a few years ago, bordering on androgynous, with an occasional tattoo and a bit of punk swagger to match their youthful naiveté—hardly resemble even the shadow of the beefcake of generations past. This is the undressed and carefree look of today’s urban trendsetter—whose style trickles out of the young, creative circles in cities, only to be copied elsewhere tomorrow.
With each photograph, these sexually charged images of male bodies invite the viewer to dwell upon the welcome tenderness of warm skin. Ultimately I Heart Boy is a series of nudity in the purest sense; of being simply bared as human before the world.

La Vitesse Et La Pierre
Whyred presents its fourth collaboration in the Art Project series with the short movie ‘La Vitesse Et La Pierre’, by film director
Igor Zimmermann and photographer duo Frode Fjerdingstad and Marcus Palmqvist. Music written and produced by Yourhighness.
'La Vitesse Et La Pierre' is an epic short film created with audio and still images. A film about the restrained Iris and the fleeting Bernard and the solitude that unites them.
The filmmakers wanted to make the process into an adventure. The film is shot in Western Sahara, Stockholm, Sweden and Norway. Along the 3000 kilometres, which they drove through West Africa, they slept in the trunk of their car outside deserted towns, burned shoes in the desert and had long discussions with African border police, about whether photography can be art. This was to explain why they had 30 kilograms blue dye in the luggage.
'La Vitesse Et La Pierre' is the result of an experiment that explores the intersection of film and photography.
- The boundaries between the traditional roles of director, photographer and actor in this production are dissolved. The result is a humorous, poetic and highly visual journey, says the trio.
Whyred has always had art as one of the three corner stones of its heritage - art, music, tailoring - and this project is the fourth in a series of collaborations with various artists.
- Our Art Projects have all been different in nature. The artists who speak to us are strong and independent in their field but who share our basic philosophy, ‘says Roland Hjort, head of design at Whyred.
The film world premiered at the prestigious festival, A Shaded View on Fashion Film on 25-27 September in Paris. In Sweden it will be unveiled on 12 November on Whyred’s website.
Whyred is closely connected to the art world, and art has constantly been an important source of inspiration. The name Whyred comes from one of Sweden's most famous artists Sven X: et Erixon, grandfather of Roland Hjort. X: et was once asked in an interview about his favourite colour. Baffled he said "red". When the journalist asked, "Why red?", X: et Erixon replied: "Well ...blue then". This anecdote lies behind Whyred’s progressive design philosophy, which, combined with a foundation in modernism, strives for innovation. Whyred has over the years collaborated with eminent artists such as Jockum Nordström, Roger Andersson and Jonas Nobel.

AKAKUS Libya
Acacus is an enchanting world of sand and stone, a fairy-tale like natural area in the south west of Libya. Although the journey can be quite demanding, it is well worthwhile as it leads into a little known world that is full of remarkable beauty. The Guelta Taschunt is a wadi that is known for a very narrow canyon that can only be entered on foot. Today, the mighty rocks and endless desert landscape form a natural border between Libya and neighboring Algeria. Today, around 1300 members of the Tuareg, a nomadic Berber tribe, inhabit this region and it was here in 1850 that a German archaeologist discovered prehistoric remains, as well as rock paintings, proof of an ancient culture. The desert mountains of Acacus are far more than just a fascinating landscape. The rocks in its dried out river valleys are like a historic picture book that provides us with a remarkable insight into what was once a magnificent Saharan culture.

First Steps in BORDER COLLIE SHEEPDOG TRAINING - Teach a herding stock dog to round up sheep
Info: www.herding-dog-training-border-collie-sheepdog-dvd.com This is a preview of our brand new 2xDVD sheepdog training program First Steps in Border Collie Sheepdog Training - a training DVD for beginners which shows you how you can start to train a dog for farm, trials or ranch working with the absolute minimum help from other people. If you are interested in training a dog to work sheep, a smallholder, potential sheepdog trialler, hobby sheep keeper, smallholder, farmer or even a budding sheep rancher this brand new 2xDVD set, clearly explains the natural instinct of the Border Collie Sheepdog and how (with patience, determination and simple preparation) it can easily be programmed to develop into a really useful working dog. The time honoured (and probably easiest) method of starting a young dog is to use an experienced dog to keep the sheep in the middle of the field. But this method's of no use to beginners who don't have an experienced dog (or access to one), so in First Steps in Border Collie Sheepdog Training the dogs are all trained WITHOUT THE USE OF AN EXPERIENCED DOG.

Trash On The Border
Our wilderness, national wildlife refuges, monuments and other federal lands along the Arizona border are being destroyed by illegal immigrants and drug smugglers. They are dumping TONS of trash, destroying vegetation and doing damage beyond comprehension to our wilderness, wildlife refuges, monuments and other federal and state owned land. We must secure our borders and get law enforcement in these areas to protect our natural resources. If this continues, these areas may never recover from the damage.
