Raja Paarvai

Dear All, This is from the same tape as our Grandpa's Portrait Unveiling at the Krishna Ghana Sabha. It was originally a 3 minute clip. Having to see it in such a rush would be disappointing. So I copied important parts of the same clip and ran it in slow motion immediately after the normal run. So you will see the first half of the video run at normal and the other half at quarter the speed. I have added annotations to that part. Since I had to remove the audio for the slow-mo I added the song "andhimazhai" from "Raja paarvai". "Andhimazhai" is set to Vasanta ragam. The raga of the dusk. Very symbolic eh ?.. This song was recorded by Illayaraja when he was at his creative best. Listen to the Violins, chords and the flute...this is guy is blessed.....Kamalhassan did the lead role of a blind violinist with Madhavi as his pair. What eyes madhavi had.....my kingdom for her eyes....!!! It is very emotional seeing many in Guruprasad, then young, then old, with dreams, with freedom, with smiles...one thought that went across my mind was.... if I could roll back time...how differently would I have shaped my destiny ? this is one question that all the youth in the Guruprasad should ponder upon today. It is good that, in a way, life gives no second chances.............. Why?...'cause we would learn to live in the present.
