Burmese kickboxing lethwei
Myanmar Lethwei. Myanmar Traditional Boxing is a form of kickboxing which originated in Myanmar. Lethwei is in many ways similar to its siblings from neighboring South-East Asian countries such as Tomoi from Malaysia, Pradal Serey from Cambodia and Muay Thai from Thailand. If Thai Boxing is the science of 8 limbs, then Lethwei can be called the science of 9 limbs, due to the allowance of head butts. In comparison, Lethwei can be interpreted as being bolder and more extreme. Myanmar boxers are said to be slightly bigger and taller than their Thai counterparts. The techniques are a bit slower and stronger than in the other Southeast Asian kickboxing forms. There are records recording Lethwei style matches dating back to the Pyu Empire in Myanmar. Ancient Myanmar armies successfully used Lethwei, Bando and its armed sibling Banshay in winning many wars against neighboring countries. Participants fight without gloves or protection, wrapping only their hands in hemp or gauze cloth. Fights are traditionally held outdoors in sandpits instead of rings, but in modern times they are now held in rings. Popular techniques in Lethwei include leg kicks, knees, elbows, head butts, raking knuckle strikes, and take downs. Matches traditionally and ultimately would go until a fighter could no longer continue. In earlier times, there no draws, only a win or loss by knockout. No point system existed. Extreme bloodshed was very common and death in the ring was no surprise. Nowadays in the ...

Burma Installation
In 2010, Burma held its first elections in 20 years. As part of its campaign to help free Burma's 2100 political prisoners, Human Rights Watch created a giant installation at New York's Grand Central Station. Consisting of hundreds of prison cells, a closer look reveals that the cells bars are actually pens. Visitors could remove the pens to symbolically free the prisoners and then use the pen to sign a petition calling for the release of these innocent prisoners.

Burma Snapshots
Eh Kaw Htoo and Baw Baw Poe, two young ethnic Karen, smuggle medical aid from Thailand across the Burmese border to help their compatriots on the run from the persecution by the troops of the Burmese military dictatorship. The Karen, second most populous ethnic nationality in Burma, have been terrorised for the last 56 years. The Burmese army systematically shoots civilians, rapes women and burns villages. At the risk of their lives Eh Kaw Htoo and Baw Baw Poe clandestinely collect data about an unnoticed genocide in their own country declared a 'free fire-zone' by their own government.

Road to Mandalay - Burma
Suu Kyi exhausted a week before elections? To see more go to www.youtube.com Follow us on Facebook (goo.gl or Twitter (www.twitter.com Having long been closed off to the outside world, Burma is now lifting the curtain and making staggering democratic reforms. But will the regime really pass power to its people in the upcoming elections? For years Burma has been ruled by a corrupt military junta that brutally suppressed all opposition, used forced labour and imprisoned thousands for their political views. But recently - and suddenly - things have changed. After elections that most observers regarded as a sham, the new government released Aung San Suu Kyi, suspended a hugely unpopular dam project with China, freed thousands of prisoners and signed peace pacts with a number of warring ethnic groups. Even Hillary Clinton dropped in for a visit. Ko Ko Hlaing, the President's Chief Advisor, admits the sins of the past and insists that Burma is now heading in a new direction. "We need credibility and we need legitimacy and we need to make trust between the people and the government". It's still early days for the reform process and whether the regime actually passes power to the people will be the ultimate test. For tourism at least, the changes have already proved to be a huge draw. "I wanted to be here right now to spend my tourism dollars in those changes and I also wanted to you know really see for myself what's going on". A Film By ABC Australia Disibuted By Journeyman ...

In an effort to bring more awareness and bring people together in support of Burma's people our company Shilo recently created this spot. Not only are the horrible atrocities happening to them by their government but now having to recover from the resent cyclone Nargis.
My heart goes out to these peaceful people. please view the video and give any kind of support you can.
Quoted from We Make it Good
"We joined forces with an amazing group of people to create this viral public service announcement (PSA). The purpose was to raise awareness on the Burmese peoples ongoing peaceful protests against their military government’s notorious human rights violations. Working on this piece was a unique experience for us and it was exciting to work with such a passionate group of people.
An important goal for each of us, in every project we take on, is getting people to think. With this piece, it is not just a provocation but a call to action. The people of Burma are oppressed: They are not free to express themselves. At Shilo, we are a group of individuals who make art for our livelihoods and we value personal expression as the highest of our freedoms. We are inviting people to join the global conversation about this issue and hopefully we’ll inspire people to make a positive difference for the people of Burma.
This has become even more relevant due to this weekend’s cyclone that ravaged the area, killing thousands. Please join us in showing your support for this cause. Here are some helpful sites."

ABOUT THE FILM
Burma Soldier” is the powerful story of a former junta member and Burmese soldier who risks everything to become a pro-democracy activist. The film provides a rare glimpse of a brutal dictatorship seen through the eyes of a courageous former soldier who, quite literally, swapped sides. The documentary offers an exclusive and rare perspective, from inside the heart and mind of a man who lays bare an understanding of a brutal regime and the political and psychological power of the junta over his country. He reaches out to the military asking them to examine their responsibilities as soldiers and to reflect on their duty to protect the people that make up the nation they are sworn to serve

For the full transcript:
In December of 2010 a video surfaced on the Internet. In the video a young man put two kittens into an airtight bag and proceeded to attach a vacuum cleaner to the bag. He then sucked the air out of the bag until the kittens died.
Over the following weeks another video and pictures surfaced. In the pictures the perpetrator proceeded to simulate sex acts with the dead kittens.
A Facebook group was set up to identify the person in the videos. Through studying EXIF data found within photographs released on the Internet the group were able to determine that the pictures had been taken with a pink colored
Panasonic camera (Serial # S D 0 C A 0 0 4 0 3 4 ).
Further information led to the suspect being named as Luka Rocco Magnotta, formerly known as Eric Clinton Newman.
Luka has lived in the Toronto area along with his family since he was a child. We believe he is still in the Toronto area.
A picture of Luka sitting inside a store was taken with an iPhone camera and posted online. The EXIF data on that picture gave the date it was taken and the GPS coordinates, which indicate he was in Toronto on that day.
Months passed and more and more was learned about Luka.
He was a gay escort and had appeared in adult movies.
He had hundreds of You Tube and social media accounts which he used to promote himself and goad those who were investigating the case.
Then on November 28th 2011 a third video was posted on the Internet. This time the video showed an albino Burmese Python feeding on a cat that the perpetrator had given to it.
Days later a 4th video surfaced. This video showed a cat being taped to a broom handle and drowned in a bath.
In the following weeks new pictures, videos and Facebook groups promoting the videos were found.
That is where the investigation is at now. Your help is needed!
Luka is still on the run. He was last known to be in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Through his internet messages he has indirectly threatened to kill more animals and even progress to humans.
Your help is needed!
If you have any information about the whereabouts of Luka Magnotta please contact The OSPCA 888-668-7722, The Sun Newspaper UK 020 7782 4104, or The RSPCA - UK 0300 1234 999
There is a reward of $5000 available for information that results in his conviction for these crimes.

Death Or Democracy - Burma
April 2006 Despite agreeing a cease-fire, the Karen are still regularly attacked by the Burmese military regime. They fear the junta wants to annihilate them completely. In a village in the Karen states, fighters are preparing for war. Abandoned by the international community, they have vowed to fight on until the bitter end. "The junta are carrying out ethnic cleansing. They will do whatever to eliminate the whole race", fears Col Ner Dah Mya. Human rights campaigner Kevin Heppner agrees. "There is a systematic effort to starve people out of the hills." Produced by SBS/Dateline Distributed by Journeyman Pictures

Preparing for the Worst - Burma
The Burmese junta continues to terrorise ethnic minorities, driving them from their villages. Holding little hope that the elections will bring change, ethnic militias struggle to care for their people. Colonel Nerdah Mya, leader of the Karen militia, the KNLA, brings his troops into another destroyed minority village. They have come to provide healthcare for the malnourished residents. Their stance is clear: "The Burmese are executing genocide against the Karen people". Exercising a brutal scorched earth policy throughout the region, the SPDC has driven thousands of refugees into hiding. Mya and his men are trying to find a safe place to rebuild the village, and yet the threat of the ever-approaching army hangs over their efforts. The guerrilla leader is certain the elections won't change the regime: "We are trying to rebuild our community...They have their own plan".

My friend's 12 foot burmese python snake eating a rabbit
I accept all friend invites! My friends 12 foot Burmese python grabbing some food in the form of a rabbit. His cage is 4'8'4' and is shared by levels with a red tail boa. Linoleum is set as the snakes floor to slow him down as he has no problem striking at a human especially when hungry. The conversation came up about Live VS. Frozen with the owner of the snake...Blaze does indeed refuse frozen/thawed. The first two years of his life the current owner did not own him, someone else did. They fed him live only, so he will not switch now. As for the other two snakes, he breeds rats so this is much easier and cheaper than buying frozen. A few video's of Blaze have been posted since this one! Check them out! SUBSCRIBE TO ME & I WILL SUBSCRIBE TO YOU! JUST SEND ME A MESSAGE LETTING ME KNOW YOU HAVE SUBSCRIBED!
