Anatolian Costumes of Eastern Thrace, Mysia & Bithynia
The song is KΩNΣTANTINIA (Constantinia) from Guardians of Hellenism Vol. 5 Constantinople (Sea of Marmara, Bithynia). The singer is Tasos Aloupis. Anatolia (Aνατολή), which means East in Greek, which is now modern Turkey, was the heartland of Byzantium before the Ottoman invasion. There are various ethnic influences in its culture. Of course, many parts of Anatolia also have remnants of the glorious Ancient Greek civilization. Featured in the video are costumes from: Eastern Thrace (Ανατολική Θράκη): Makra Gefyra (Μακρά Γέφυρα), Adrianople (Ἁδριανούπολις), Saranta Ekklisies(Σαράντα Εκκλησιές), Rodosto (Ρωδόστο) & Constantinople (Κωνσταντινούπολις). Mysia (Μυσία): Palaeokastron & Prousa (Προύσα) Bithynia: Sakarya & Claudiopolis Translation of the song: 'Isn't it a shame and unfair, isn't it a sin, O Constantinia, To torment my youth with no good cause, O Constantinia? Oh Constantinia, marry now you're young. You walk like a partridge, you fly like a dove, A pity for such beauty not to have a mate. Constantinia, my darling, long may you live, my heart. My one hand's in the fire, the other on the knife, Either I'll kill myself or burn, or I will make you mine. In faith, Constantinia, take me home with you.' About the song: 'Various sources attribute it to different regions, from Propontis and Kappadocia to Chios. In our opinion, it is one of the most widespread songs with couplets found in the whole Eastern Greece.' (p28 of the CD manual).

Independence for Eastern Thrace ( PIET )
Independent Eastern Thrace ( Thrace Orientale) The reason why we are standing up against Turkey is to set up an independent western state for Eastern Thracians. By this way we definitely can save our illuminated western mind and thracian identity. ..To live under the imperialism of anatolian islamists (Turkey) or to live in western, secular, modern and your own state... Μαντηλάτος Ανατολικής Θράκης - Mantilatos of East Thrace, Greece
A Greek folk dance from the region of Thrace and one of the most well-known. This song originate in Greeks refugees of Eastern Thrace, which has influences from sounds of East, and many times they don't use bagpipes (like the rest of Thrace) but instruments from Asia Minor or Greek islands.

Free Thrace!... because Thrace belongs to Europe!
A southeastern region of Europe known as Thrace is occupied by a foreign power. At least, the eastern half of it is. Turkish control over this region should have ended no later than the First World War. It is time for Turkey to cede control of this region back to Europe. Bulgaria and Greece are to negotiate which of their countries will get what parts of Eastern Thrace afterwards. Make your own video, build support, spread the word! Pro Europa Et Christus! Music is 'Finlandia' (a piece written for a totally different part of Europe) by Jean Sibelius. This video is a production of the Channel of The Indigo Cross

Nea Potidea Greece
Nea Potidea Nea Potidea was founded in 1922 by refugees from eastern Thrace on the site of ancient Potidea or Pallini. It is the village entering to Kassandra impressing the driver while he passes the bridge over the canal where the Thermaikos and Toroneos gulfs are combined together. The history of Nea Potidea goes back to the early 17th century when it was still a Corinthian colony. The position of this place was very strategic in the ancient years. The today's village was founded in 1922 by the refugees from the East Thrace.

HELLAS - The struggle for freedom (Εnglish version) .
Our ancient ancestors were saying this wise aphorism: No one is the most certain to be an enemy than the ungrateful one you have benefited. Our neighbours were many times benefited from Greece either when they needed a place to live either when they were in need. Nevertheless, not only have they forgotten the good manners of Greeks but they have even reached the point to speak about a well favoured Greek state to which were gifted all those (lands) that for centuries belonged to her! Thus, we have uploaded this video to show, synoptically of course, that nothing was gifted to us from all that which, without doubt, were Greek lands but we have freed them, as our duty was, and we paid in blood for their freedom. Obviously our neighbours must give us those that they unjustifiably occupy. Albania to give back Northern Epirus, FYROM to retreat at least ten kilometres towards her interior, Bulgaria to forfeit East Romilia and Turkey to return Eastern Thrace, the islands Imbros and Tenedos and lets not talk about Smirni. I would also like to thank brother Polemarhos for his help in the translation of this video.

Turkey - Beach Olu Deniz - Travel Doc
Turkey is a transcontinental Eurasian country. Asian Turkey (made up largely of Anatolia), which includes 97% of the country, is separated from European Turkey by the Bosporus, the Sea of Marmara, and the Dardanelles (which together form a water link between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean). European Turkey (eastern Thrace or Rumelia in the Balkan peninsula) includes 3% of the country. The territory of Turkey is more than 1600 kilometres (1000 mi) long and 800 km (500 mi) wide, with a roughly rectangular shape. Turkey's area, inclusive of lakes, occupies 783562 square kilometres (300948 sq mi), of which 755688 square kilometres (291773 sq mi) are in Southwest Asia and 23764 square kilometres (9174 sq mi) in Europe. Turkey's area makes it the world's 37th-largest country, and is about the size of Metropolitan France and the United Kingdom combined. Turkey is encircled by seas on three sides: the Aegean Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Turkey also contains the Sea of Marmara in the northwest.
