Eating Shabu-shabu (Korean hot pot) at a Korean restaurant in Yongin, Korea
In this travel video we revisit one of of our favourite Shabu-shabu restaurants in Audrey's area of Yongin, South Korea. The last time we came here was in the summer but now that it is winter the 'hot pot' aspect of the meal is far more appealing given how cold it has been outside of late. It's the perfect winter food as tender slices of beef, leafy greens, noodles, mushrooms, potatoes and other ingredients are all cooked in a simmering hot pot filled with a spicy broth. Shabu shabu is one of our favourite communal style do it yourself Korean meals and we highly recommend it to anyone. At the end of the meal fried rice is made out of the leftovers along with complimentary coffee and mints. This is part of our life in Korea series. Shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ , also spelled syabu-syabu?) is a Japanese variant of hot pot. The name shabu-shabu is derived from the "swish swish" sound of cooking the meat in the pot. The dish is related to sukiyaki in style, in that both use thinly sliced meat and vegetables and are usually served with dipping sauces, but it is considered to be more savory and less sweet than sukiyaki. It is considered a winter dish, but is eaten year-round. [edit]History Shabu-shabu was introduced in Japan in the 20th century with the opening of the restaurant "Suehiro"[1] in Osaka. Its origins are traced back to the Chinese hot pot known as shuan yang rou. Shabu-shabu is most similar to the original Chinese version when compared to other Japanese dishes ...

Afro-American tourist pisses of the nation of Korea - Korean people outraged! (VIDEO)
BEST VIEWED ON WIDESCREEN MODE WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU SAW THIS ?.....SIT THERE OR ? Apparently an Afro-American tourist visiting Korea has upset the entire nation, after this released video spread rapidly over the internet in that region, showing a black American tourist verbally insulting and hitting a Chinese couple: After the internet video leaked, people on Korean web forums were calling for racial segregation laws and immigration reforms to be enacted.

Korea's Got Talent Sung Bong Choi in (El Homiguero)
Thank you all for the many views and I Like Childhood Abandoned in an orphanage at the age of three, Choi claims that he ran away from the institution when he was 5 years old because of having been beaten. He lived in stairwells and public washrooms and sold chewing gum and energy drinks to survive. He also delivered milk and newspapers in addition to working as a laborer, beginning at age eight. Choi said that very bad things happened to him as a child and that he was sold to someone. However, he met a woman who ran a food cart outside a night club. She gave him the name "Ji-Sung". She also encouraged Choi to take the Korean equivalent of a GED (General Educational Development) exam so that he could complete his elementary and junior high curricula in order to enter high school. He graduated from Daejeon Arts High School. Choi stated during the audition that he had attended the high school. He also mentioned that there were no teachers to give him vocal training at the school since he did not have the financial resources to pay for master classes. He work at a delivery service to earn tuition and money for lessons, but it resulted in a traumatic fall during his 8:00 pm to 7:00 am shift. Choi subsequently received medical treatment at Kun Yang University Hospital. Prior to the fall, as a child, Choi had two car accidents for which he did not receive proper medical treatment for many years. When Choi got admitted at Kun Yang University Hospital due to other medical issues ...

North Korean Film Madness (Documentary | Part 1/3)
We went to North Korea to try and penetrate the Korean Feature Film Studio, the state-run film production facility west of Pyongyang: a sprawling lot that at its height produced around 40 films a year. Watch the rest here! bit.ly bit.ly You could say that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il has two primary obsessions: maintaining nuclear weapons capability as a means of protecting his "hermit kingdom," and thwarting pressure from outside forces like America and the rest of the industrialized world to open his country to modern things like electricity... and he's obsessed with film. He loves movies. It's rumored that he has one of the largest private film collections in the world. His favorite film is Gone with the Wind and his favorite actress is Elizabeth Taylor. He's a film collector and bona fide cinephile, but he's much more. He's everything really. He's a director, a producer, a financier, a costume maker, set designer, screenwriter, cameraman, sound engineer... and he's also a film theorist. His masterwork on aesthetics and practice is "On the Art of Cinema" (written and published in the early 1970s). In it he gives himself the humble title, "Genius of the Cinema." He built an extensive film studio in Pyongyang and when he couldn't find someone to make his film he did what any self-respecting eternal leader and great president would do... he kidnapped one. Korean High School (Documentary Preview)
In sixty short years, South Korea went from being one of the poorest countries in Asia to having the world's 13th largest economy. Korean students have some of the highest test scores in the world, and a higher rate of acceptance into American Ivy Leagues than any other foreign country. But Korea also leads the world in two not quite so stunning ways- the highest rate of plastic surgery per capita, and a higher suicide rate than any other developed nation.
So. What's life like for a Korean student? In one of the most competitive societies in the world, how does one find their place? What does it take to achieve your aspirations and goals? Our documentary will take a look at the lives of five Korean teenagers on the verge of either reaching- or losing- their dreams. The film will follow the students during the most stressful time of their lives- their last year of high school. After studying for roughly sixteen hours each day, their futures boil down to one last exam. On November 10th, 2011, thousands of high school seniors will take a nine hour test that for many, will determine their economic and social status for the rest of their lives.
