is vava vooming in this scene form An Amercian Dream. I hat that word to describe the still sexy older female but it fits here. you can see she's not what she was in PSYCHO, she's even better. Hot sixties make up, sensuous curves and a tiny gold plated revolver make this clip fun to watch. Also Stuart Whitman appears to be what Hefner was pushing back then as the ultimate man's man. So transparently douchey it makes One chuckle. The guys at the table are less but defintiely paved the way for the likes Master Bruce Wayne / BATMAN.

A tribute to Tony Curtis (1925-2010) and Janet Leigh (1927-2004), set to Astrud Gilberto's "Far Away". Curtis and Leigh were one of Hollywood's golden couples, along with Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, but like the others mentioned, there were problems behind the picture-perfect image. They costarred in six films together ("Houdini", "The Vikings", "The Black Shield Of Falworth", "The Perfect Furlough", "Who Was That Lady?" and "Pepe"). Their marriage lasted for eleven years and produced two daughters, Kelly and Jamie Lee Curtis. No doubt the stress of their careers, homelife, keeping up their images and Tony's wandering eye took their toll. They both remarried, but, hopeless romantic that I am, I like to think that there was a part of their hearts that was reserved for each other. Since Janet passed first, the song seemed to work well both with the fact that she passed on and the fact that their marriage fell apart. Now Tony has joined her. Again, effects were fun to experiment with. Enjoy!

House on Greenapple Road was an off-length TV movie (135 minutes instead of the usual 100), first telecast on The ABC Sunday Night Movie on January 11, 1970. Christopher George heads a stellar cast as Lt. Dan August, probing a homicide case in suburbia. The accused, a meek clerk (Tim O'Connor), had plenty of motive to kill his faithless wife (Janet Leigh). Only there's no weapon...and no corpse. After a series of revelatory flashbacks, August deduces that there may be a lot more people and issues involved than a missing housewife. Audience response to House on Greenapple Road was positive enough to spin off into a Dan August TV series. Here's another great Oscar nominated song that deserved to win. Johnny Mandell's song was from the forgettable "An American Dream" from the Norman Mailer book. Johnny won the Oscar the previous year for THE SHADOW of Your Smile. This rare clip showacses the lovely Leigh as a cabaret sing (she's dubbed by the great Jackie Ward who dubbed Natalie Wood in The Great Race. Barbra Streisand recorded this song on her latest album (2009)

The Black Shield of Falworth is a 1954 film made by Universal Studios, produced by Robert Arthur and Melville Tucker and directed by Rudolph Maté. The screenplay was adapted by Oscar Brodney from Howard Pyle's novel Men of Iron and starred Tony Curtis as Myles Falworth, Janet Leigh as Lady Anne of Mackworth, David Farrar as the Earl of Alban, Herbert Marshall as the Earl of Mackworth, and Torin Thatcher as Sir James. The original music score was composed by Hans J. Salter. The film was Universal International's first feature in CinemaScope. It opened in New York City on October 6, 1954 at the Loew's State Theater. It was the second of five films in which husband and wife Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh appeared together on screen during their marriage (1952-1961).
