Mark Millar interview about Millarworld, dominating the universe, and his latest movie Supercrooks flicksandthecity.com Mark was on a panel at Kapow! JanGilbert.co.uk - Visit my website! http - Visit my film blog! Mark Millar came up with the idea for Supercrooks while wondering why supervillains commit all their robberies in Gotham City where Batman is so brilliant at catching them, so he wanted them to go somewhere where the cops are much less effective like Spain. The concept was picked up very quickly by Marc Platt Productions who Mark made the movie Wanted with. Nacho Vigalondo, who has great experience working with lower-budget films, was then brought on as director. Mark compares Nacho to director Duncan Jones who made the indie film Moon before making the bigger-budget Source Code. Mark and Nacho wrote the screenplay over two weeks in Mark's house. Mark Millar To Oversee Fox Marvel Films
bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! Fox hires comics superstar Mark Millar as a creative consultant. Millar has written several celebrated Marvel titles like Civil War, The Ultimates and Wolverine: Old Man Logan...and the book-to-film properties Kick-Ass and Wanted...Now 20th Century Fox has recruited the multihyphenate to advise on what he knows best...the studio's Marvel superheroes. First up, Millar will sprinkle his creative vision over Fox's fantastic four and x-men tentpoles. Fantastic Four will return to theatres with a franchise reboot and an entirely new cast of heroes....but first Hugh Jackman returns as Logan in The wolverine, accompanied by 3:10 to Yuma director James Mangold at the helm. There's more mutants to follow with X-Men: Days of Future past, helmed by Kick Ass director Matthew Vaughn. A self-professed life long comics nerd, Millar wants to make movies the fans will love...and already he's received an avalanche of congratulations on his social media accounts...but the most notable well wishes came from the great Stan Lee...which Millar says is like getting a message from the pope himself. So are you excited to see Millar in this new, influential position over at Fox? And do you think he's got the chops to be as successful as Joss Whedon when it comes to comic-to-film adaptations? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to keep clicking Clevver Movies all day long for the latest movie news. I'm ...

Glasgow Film Festival 2011: Mark Millar and Frank Quitely discuss Getting Started in Comics
Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, two of the biggest names working in comics today, took part in Glasgow Film Festival 2011's Superheroes in Glasgow strand. Cutting his teeth writing for 2000 AD and DC Comics, Mark Millar graduated to Marvel Entertainment ten years ago and in that time has written some of the most successful comic books in the English language, including Wanted and Kick-Ass. Internationally renowned Glaswegian graphic novelist Frank Quitely, aka Vincent Deighan, is best known for his work on titles such as New X-Men, WE3, All Star Superman as well as his work with Mark Millar on The Authority. Following two masterclasses, Mark and Frank offered their top tips on breaking into the comics industry to Festival vlogger, Jonathan Melville. Images of the West Kimberley
This is a production I have put together for my brother Christian who required something to showcase the ability of the 5D Mk2 to audiences eager to hear about his life behind the lens.
We were lucky enough to be teamed up together for another adventure on True North. www.northstarcruises.com.au
Most of this footage and stills was taken on this trip with some familiar clips I had taken on my first trip. Once again we were treated to the splendor of the Kimberley and of course the magnificent True North and it's amazing crew. It's something you must do if you ever get the chance. It is a trip of a lifetime.
For those interested in the gear used we had
2 x 5D Mk2, Canon 16-35mm f/2.8, 24mm f/1.4, 50mm f/1.2, 85mm f/1.2, 400mm f/5.6, TS-E 17mm f/4, 100mm Macro f/2.8, Manfrotto T/Pod, Monopod, Millars DS10, Rode mic's, MacBook Pro, Lee Filter kits, Grads, polarizers etc.

Mark Millar Endorses Alex Salmond and the SNP
KICK ASS SUPER-HERO WRITER AND FILM-MAKER BACKS SALMOND Kick Ass and Wanted comic-book writer and film-maker Mark Millar has today (Thursday) said: "My name is Mark Millar and I fully endorse Alex Salmond as First Minister for Scotland." The multi-award winning writer and Hollywood film-maker said in an exclusive interview for www.snp.org : "It's an unusual move for me to come out in support of any political party publicly but I think sometimes you have just got to take a stand. It's been a really difficult few years but I think the SNP Government have really risen to the occasion, I think you can define a society by how they treat their poorest and I think this government have really looked after the interests of the people with nothing better than anyone. But at the same time I think they have been great for business too. I think Alex in particular is an amazing politician I think he is the best in the country and I don't just mean Scotland I mean including Westminster too. I think he is a guy you want in charge, you want a professional economist in charge of the country when ever things are this tough. My own personal experience with Alex Salmond is when his office called me a few weeks ago and just said is there anything we can do to help the Scottish film industry. I'm very lucky that I work in Hollywood and I am doing all the things I've wanted to do but there is a lot of talented people in this country who haven't been given the same opportunities that I have got ...
