Dell AXIM X51V/X50V WM6 Update Guide NOT FOR X50 OR X51!
Fist off many owners 0f X51 and X50 are bricking there PDA even after i warn everybody not to do this unless they know what they are doing and have done all of their research so I'm going to make this a little easier. DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU HAVE AN X51 OR AN X50 THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AS AN X51V AND A X50V AND THIS UPDATE WILL BRICK YOUR PDA. This video is my first attempt at making a how/to guide so please don't be too critical. This guide is my attempt of showing a comprehensive explanation on how to update your PDA's and give you a step by step guide on what you need and what to do. I only have a X51V so this video is mostly about that, but to my knowledge updating the X50V is not MUCH different so this might help those of you who are stuck with that as well. JUST SO YOU KNOW THIS VIDEO IS NO EXCUSE TO BE LAZY. DO NOT UPDATE YOU'R PDA IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING, DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PDA WITHOUT DOING ALL OF YOUR RESEARCH WHICH MEAN MAKING SURE YOU READ ALL OF YOUR RESPECTIVE FORUMS FROM BEGINNING TO END, AND DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PDA IF YOU DONT WANT TO VOID YOUR WARRENTLY. Dell Axim Review Part 1
This was my attempt at a video review of the Dell Axim x50v, It is a very good Pocket PC and I would recomend it for anyone who is in the market for a handheld. While using the x50v with Windows Mobile 6 I found there to be some very annoying flaws. The main flaw is that the wi-fi cannot hold a connection, it can but sometimes it likes to drop and then you cannot access the internet. This is very annoying but then again it works perfectly fine other times. The Axim x50v also has many positive features, for instanace it is a very fast Pocket PC (624MHz), it has the ability to be expanded to over 32gb

So heres the grand tutorial, how to upgrade any Dell Axim X to Windows Mobile 6.5! This only works on the High Dell Axim X50, X51 (mid and low!) , X50V, and X51V. If you have any questions, make sure you read the FAQ at the bottom of the video description, if it answers your question. WARNING FOR DELL AXIM X50/X50V USERS: You MUST have your Axim X50/X50v on Windows Mobile 5 before attempting, due to bootloader capabilites. Don't blow your money on a cheap mp4 player from China that will break in a few days or even an expensive IPOD. This Dell Axim can do a whole lot. So much in fact, I pondered a lot in the video as to what to do next. The Axim has as much memory as YOU NEED depending on the compact flash card you buy - some models even come with GPS! I know you really want to get that piece of junk from China - but just know that the touch screen will either go dead or won't power up at all in a matter of time. And honestly, who plays Tetris anymore?? You saw the graphics capabilities of this Axim! And that wasn't even one of the better games!! The music options are just too much to list! I balance my checkbook, use WIFI to get on the internet, make to do lists, play pool, play cards, and DRAW. You will spend an average of 30 dollars or more than a junk mp4 player from China and a hundred + less than an Ipod from Apple. This is a solid choice. Get on Ebay and check one out! Only thing it CAN'T do is take pictures or video.. whoopy doo! That's what a camera is for!!

I am NOT sure if this will work with Dell Axim X50's with 416MHz, no Wi-Fi, PERFORM THE UPDATE AT YOUR OWN RISK!! ALL DELL AXIM'S NO LONGER HAVE WARRENTY. If you happen to brick your Axim, refer to this forum post: forum.xda-developers.com You might get some system stability issues on your Axim once you perform the update, hard reset the device immediatly after the Dell logo finishes. To hard reset, press the Power+Wireless+Reset buttons together, then push the Contacts button when the message shows up, or Message button to cancel. YAY FOR HD CAMERA! So Dell Axim X50's are STILL useful after 5 years, ehh! We never knew it had such capabilities! This is my video showing a Dell Axim X50 MID running Windows Mobile 6.5 by LennySh on HTCGeeks. He hooks us up with all of the Dell Axim roms. XD Unlike the unofficial 6.1 rom for the X50, CF and WPA-TKP/AES works! It doesn't have the Finger UI (bummer. I was looking forward for that) like the other 6.5 roms. But its a pretty dam good ROM! It may have froze once but I still prefer it over wm5 and wm6.1. I may do a video tutorial on how to load Windows Mobile 6.5 on X50 Axims.
