Chris Prynoski is an American animator, director, and producer, known for his work on TV programs such as Metalocalypse, Freaknik: The Musical, Motorcity and Megas XLR and films such as Beavis and Butt-Head Do America.
Prynoski was born in Trenton, New Jersey and grew up in Bordentown, New Jersey. He attended local public schools in Bordentown and then Notre Dame High School, and remembers doodling constantly in class. After high school, he pursued art school and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 1994.
Prynoski began his career working in New York, mostly on his own or through MTV's in-house studio on shows like Daria and Beavis and Butthead. He also created his own show, MTV Downtown, which was nominated for a primetime Emmy Award in 2000 and his directorial work in the hallucination sequence of Beavis and Butt-Head Do America was nominated for "Best Animated Sequence in a Feature Film" by the National Cartoonists Society.
In the same year, he moved to Hollywood, California, where he opened his own studio Titmouse, Inc. with wife, Shannon Prynoski.
Chris is a short form of various names including Christopher, Christian, Christina, Christine, and Christos. Unlike these names, however, it does not indicate the person's gender although it is much more common for males to have this name than it is for females.
It is the preferred form of the full name of such notable individuals as Chris Tucker and Chris Penn. To find an article about one of these people, see List of all pages beginning with "Chris".
The word is also part of phrases, including Tropical Storm Chris, Ruth's Chris Steak House, and many more which refer to notable people, places, and things. For a list of these, see All pages with titles containing chris.
Titmouse, Inc. is an American animation studio that develops and produces animated television programming, feature films, music videos, title sequences, commercials and short films. The studio opened in 2000, and has offices in Los Angeles, New York City and Vancouver. Some of their productions include Motorcity for Disney XD, Metalocalypse, China, IL, Superjail! and Black Dynamite for Adult Swim.
Owner Chris Prynoski began working at MTV in New York on shows such as Daria, Beavis and Butthead, and his own creation, MTV Downtown, which was nominated for a primetime Emmy Award. In the early 2000s, Prynoski opened a small T-shirt company with his wife, Shannon Prynoski. However, upon getting more requests for cartoons than for T-shirts, they decided to abandon screen-printing in favor of animation. The Prynoski's moved to California and opened the revamped Titmouse, Inc., an animation studio. They hired French art director, Antonio Canobbio. Due to projects like Cartoon Network’s Metalocalypse, Superjail! and The Venture Bros. the company expanded and opened a sister studio in New York City. The California studio later added a wholly owned subsidiary, Robin Redbreast. Titmouse opened a games division in 2009. The company has a YouTube channel, Rug Burn, with Six Point Harness.
Jonathan D. "Jon" Schnepp (born May 16, 1967) is an American producer, director, voice actor, editor, writer, cartoonist, animator, and cinematographer whose company, Schneppzone, works on short films and television shows. His documentary film The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened? was met with mostly positive reviews upon its release in 2015. He regularly makes appearances on Collider Movie Talk, and also hosts the Collider talk-show Heroes.
Schnepp served as animation director for Nickelodeon's What's Inside Heidi's Head?, and as editor on numerous episodes of Cartoon Network's Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. He co-directed the pilot for Upright Citizens Brigade for Comedy Central, and directed segments and the Title Sequence for the series run. He also released "The Removers" and "Brainwarp", two pilots he produced and directed, on DVD by Film Threat. He then went to Brazil, working with Debbie Allen, editing and creating the title sequences for two sitcoms airing in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Schnepp co-created, co-wrote, and directed Nerd Hunter 3004 for the Channel 101 pilot. He also guest stars as the voice on three episodes of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force. In two episodes he voices the Wisdom Cube and in the other he plays The Creature from Plaque Lagoon.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
Chris Prynoski is a graduate of the BFA Animation program at the School of Visual Arts, and he began his career working in New York, mostly on his own or through MTV's in-house studio on shows like Daria and Beavis and Butthead. He opened his own studio, Titmouse, Inc. in 2000 with wife, Shannon Prynoski, who also graduated from SVA's Film and Video department, and the company currently has three locations- Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver. Titmouse, Inc., is best known for their work on the Guitar Hero game cinematics, the short film Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation, and television series work on such shows as Metalocalypse, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Afro Samurai, DJ & the Fro, Community, The Venture Bros., Freaknik: The Musical, and Superjail!. Day 3 after the Titmouse panel at NYCC 2017, we caught up with the man in charge Chris Prynoski. We ask him a couple questions and one questions in particular I think we all want to know the answer to.
"Nerdland" is the 1st animated feature film by Titmouse studio (Black Dynamite, Motor City...). Directed by Chris Prynoski. Story by Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, Sleepy Hollow). NERDLAND is the story of two best friends, aspiring screenwriter ELLIOT and aspiring actor JOHN, whose dreams of super-stardom have fizzled. With their 30th birthdays looming and their desperation growing, John and Elliot decide that in this 24/7, celebrity-obsessed world of over-shared navel-gazing, there are more ways to become famous -- or infamous -- then ever before. So why not become famous TODAY? NERDLAND is that day. Making up for what they lack in brains and talent with abundant, witless enthusiasm, John and Elliot troll Los Angeles on a fame-grab journey, encountering and abusing friends both new and old...
