The Peace - I Have Got No Money
THE PEACE was a band from Ndola in Zambia's Coopperbelt, a mining region, in central Zambia, central Africa. A natural extension of the mineral-rich region of Katanga, the Copperbelt is one of the richest sources of copper in the world. Cobalt, selenium, silver and gold also. Before they became THE PEACE the band had the name The Boyfriends, a popular local band comprising the likes of Ted Makombe, were Emmanuel Chanda from the WITCH (aka We Intend To Cause Havoc), popularly known as 'Jagari'- a corruption of his hero's name - Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, use to jam. In his days Ndola, it is a rather quiet town, and certainly not a place that makes you think in rock or even music. But in the 1970's Ndola (the administrative capital of a once flourishing Copperbelt)must have been a rocking place with bands like this one. Recorded in the Copperbelt studios in the midles 70's. Directed by Eduard THe original record was pressed at Copperbelt recording studios owned by Edward Khuzwayo himself. Now we licenced and mastered from the original vinyl this almost impossible to find record at Angola Studios in Luanda, Africa. This LP is one of the those gems from Africa's diverse music scenes in the 1970's in particular the Zam Rock scene. Recorded at Malachite Film Studios - Chingola. Printed By: Monterney - Ndola.

Kiva Entrepreneur Constance from Zambia
www.kiva.org - Kiva lets you make a loan to a specific low-income entrepreneur -- empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty. Constance, Zambia, Services http Constance is 21 years old. She would like to be in college and do what people her age do, but she can't because she did not have the money to pay college tuition. Constance has not given up hope of ever going to college. She has started a business as a mobile money transfer agent in her home city of Chingola in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Constance's biggest dream is to expand her business beyond her home town. She intends to be able to handle huge sums of money as this will enable her to have more profits. However, Constance faces the challenge of having little capital for her business. This means that she cannot conduct transfers that require large sums of money to be received or sent. When she gets the loan, she intends to increase her working capital so that she will be able to handle bigger transfers of money. When she has grown her business, Constance wants to go to college while continuing to run her business. Constance is convinced that her business is helping her community because many do not know how to read and write and her money transfers do not require complicated paperwork. Also, she provides personalized services so her customers always get all the help they need. This, she believes, is the competitive edge that her business has that will help make enough profits to realize her dream of ...

Kiva Borrower Sibeso from Zambia
www.kiva.org - Kiva lets you make a loan to a specific low-income entrepreneur -- empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty. Sibeso, Zambia, Services http In the heart of the copperbelt province of Zambia lies the city of Kitwe. It is the second biggest town in Zambia. This is where Sibeso owns her mobile money transfer business. She is 20 years old and lives alone. Sibeso comes from a family of four. She has a high school level of education. Once her business starts to make more profit, she plans to take a banking and finance course because she believes this set of skills will add value to her business. Sibeso has been running her business for three months now. She loves her business because it is able to provide money to customers who urgently need the money and it puts a smile on their faces. When asked what challenges she faces in her business, Sibeso says that transportation of cash to and from the bank is very difficult because her location is not very secure. She says once she gets the Kiva loan, she will not have to move cash with her because she will have enough working capital and it will be much easier to go about her day-to-day business. The Kiva loan will help Sibeso to hire two people to help her in her shop. She says it will also help her to add to her working capital so that she does not have to constantly carry cash to and from the bank. Sibeso asks Kiva lenders to help her increase her working capital, serve more customers, and earn more profits ...
