Ansari (nisbat)

Ansari (Arabic: انصاری) is a Nesbat used in the Middle East and South Asia. It originates from Ansar (Arabic: انصار), the Medinan people that helped Islamic prophet Muhammad when he migrated from Mecca to Medina. The literal meaning of Ansar is "supporters".

Arabic usage

The name itself is not used as a surname among Arabs; patronymics are used instead. The word is added as a title to the end of the name, if one has an ancestor who was an Ansar. This use of a name is called "Nesbat" in Arabic, meaning "relation". In modern times, however, the surname Al-Ansari is widely used in many Persian Gulf and Arab nations. Ansari's are also located in sindh province they are basically from kandiaro and sakrand. Ansari belongs to royal families.

Iranian usage

In contrast to Arabic usage, Iranians use surnames instead of patronymics. In Iran, Ansari has become a surname. This has also happened with the "Tabatabai", also originally a Nesbat.

Pakistani and Indian usage

The Ansari surname is used in Pakistan, northern India and Bangladesh, to show a lineage or ancestral link to the Ansar of Medina.

Trishul (film)

Trishul (Hindi: त्रिशूल, English: Trident) is an Indian action film directed by Yash Chopra and produced by Gulshan Rai in 1978. It is written by Salim-Javed, with music by Khayyam and lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi. The movie was a "Super Hit" at the box office and one of the top grossers of 1978, along with Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and Don.

It was remade in Tamil by Rajnikanth as Mr. Bharath with Satyaraj donning Sanjeev Kumar's role. The movie had previously inspired the Kamal Hassan starrer, Kadal Meengal and the Malayalam movie Meen starring Madhu and Jayan.

The film focuses on the three intertwined stories of Amitabh, Sanjeev, and Shashi.

Plot

Trishul (missile)

Trishul is a short range surface-to-air missile developed by India. It was developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation as a part of the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program. It can also be used as an anti-sea skimmer from a ship against low flying attacking missiles.

History and development

The Trishul missile project was commissioned in 1983 as a part of Integrated Guided Missile Development Program. The project was to be completed by 1992 and the missile would be fitted to Brahmaputra-class frigates as an anti-sea skimmer. In 1985, Trishul made its first unguided flight from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The missile made its first full range guided flight in 1989. In 1992, the missile was successfully tested against a target and reached Mach 2 speed. In 1997, the associated radar systems for detecting the incoming sea-skimmer were operational. The launch system was developed by Bharat Dynamics Limited in 1998.

In 1997, Indian Navy expressed its displeasure in the delay in the development of Trishul for the Brahmaputra-class frigates. The navy opted for the Israeli Barak 1 Anti missile defence system. By 1998, the missile had undergone over 24 flight trials and the missile was inducted into service by Indian Army and Indian Airforce in 1999. The missile was reviewed by the DRDO in October 2001. The missile system was found deficient as the tracking radar beam was getting intermittent breaks resulting in the missile missing the target and the heavy BMP-II chassis did not meet the army qualitative requirements for mobility. The naval version was test fired as a sea skimmer in 2002. In 2003, Government of India announced that the missile will be a technology demonstrator and de-linked it from other projects. The missile was successfully test fired in 2005. The development cost of the programme was ₹2.826 billion (US$42 million) and the Defence minister announced the official closure of the programme in 2008.
