The 2020 Eisner Prize: ARECMA
On October 7, 2020, The Eisner Foundation awarded The Recreational and Educational Community Association of Barrio Mariana de Humacao, or ARECMA, the Eisner Prize for Intergenerational Excellence.
ARECMA focuses on community self-management, cooperation and solidarity, and individual and collective social responsibility across generations. It serves the residents of the Mariana neighborhood in Humacao, Puerto Rico, by providing services and facilities that bring residents of all ages together. Their 38-year legacy shows how intergenerational solutions create connected, resilient communities that can mitigate the effects of natural disasters and other challenges - including Hurricane Maria in 2017 and the current Covid-19 pandemic.

The 2020 winners of comics most prestigious award, the Eisner, have now been announced and a tremendous congratulations are in order. However, unlike the Oscars, the Grammys, or the Golden Globes, the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards don't seem to have as much sway on buyers.
So, I created a fun little challenge whereby I go through the following categories: Best Single Issue, Best Short Story, Best Serialized Story, Best Continuing Series, Best Limited Series, and Best New Series. Taking into consideration every winner throughout the years, I tally up how many of these I actually own, to determine how important that big E is when it comes to buying a book. Also, I call out 5 other YouTubers to take on the challenge!
