This 42-second panoramic video clip of Komodo Island in Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands was taken on 29 January 2010 after a walking tour to see Komodo dragons in Komodo National Park. While taking this video I was standing on the pier waiting for a tender to take me back to the 382-passenger Silversea cruise ship Silver Whisper, which was en route from Sydney to Singapore. For information on Komodo dragons, which can grow up to three meters (ten feet) in length, please refer to en.wikipedia.org For basic information about Komodo Island, please see en.wikipedia.org For information about Komodo National Park, please visit en.wikipedia.org

Impressions of Sumba, one of the Sunda Islands (Nusa Tenggara). Only a few tourists come to this island. But you can easily travel to Sumba, however. There are two airports and you can fly from Bali or Flores. Many people are christian. Of course there are beautiful beaches and the villages in the west have traditional houses. Don't forget to order fresh fish at a restaurant by Waingapu harbour. Music by Gesang.

Bali/ Indonesia
Southeast of Indonesia's central island of Java lies the Lesser Sunda Islands. Among these, Bali has become a popular destination for tourists from Japan, Australia, Europe and other parts of the world, thanks not only to its wealth of historical sites and temples, but also to the early development of beach resorts on its coasts. Some visitors are happy to spend their time on the beautiful beaches, but you can also charter a boat and enjoy cruising to the surrounding islands. In addition to the resort industry, fishery is another important occupation on theses islands that make boats and outboard motors an integral part of the peoples' life and livelihood.

Komodo Islands - Nature Conservancy of Komodo
LIVING DINOSAUR
----------------------------
Komodo dragons are one of the oldest living lizards. Direct ancestors of the Komodo dragon (Varanidae family) lived 50 million years ago. Komodo dragons may have descended from a larger lizard from Java or from Australia (Megalania prisca), which existed 30,000 years ago.
Komodo dragons are only found in Komodo, Rinca, Gili Motang, and a small part of northern and western Flores. They are recently extinct in Padar. They do not exist anywhere else on earth.
The people of Komodo Island revere the Komodo dragon as a mystical ancestor and treat the dragons with respect.
JURASSIC WORLD
----------------------------
The islands were declared a national park to protect the endangered Komodo dragons and their environment, as well as the biodiversity of the islands. Located between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores in the Lesser Sunda islands of Indonesia. The Park belongs in the Komodo Sub-District of Manggarai District in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara.
West Komodo was probably the first to form from volcanic activity in the Jurrasic era about 130 to 134 million years ago. East Komodo, along with Padar and Rinca, are younger and probably emerged in the Eocene era about 49 million years ago.

Oceania World Travel _Flores Tour Travel Destination
exploring Indonesia is a massive undertaking. For travelers up to the challenge, Flores is a great place to start. Unlike busy Bali, Flores is a place where you will often be the only Westerner in sight. Beaches, active volcanoes, and genuine culture are the real reasons to brave the winding, painful road through Flores.
Often mistaken for an archipelago, Flores is actually one long, narrow island in the Lesser Sunda Islands. Flores is part of the island chain between Lombok and Timor, directly south of Sulawesi. Beautiful but rough around the edges, Flores is the epitome of just how diverse language, religion, and culture can be in Indonesia.

Bali Indonesia - Great Place To Visit
Bali is a beautiful island of Indonesia. It is located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Your best bet to access this little paradise from the mainland is by boat, but some helicopter travel is possible. Bali has about everything you could expect in a tropical park. It is home to no less than four dormant volcanoes, mangroves, monsoon forests, dozens of birds including the snowy-white endangered Bali Starling, megabats, leopard cats, the crested serpent eagle, and dozens more exotic species besides.

It was time to witness the sun rising. Got up around 06:00 to go down to the beach and wait for the sun to rise. Too bad it was cloudy at the horizon, but the results were pleasing anyway.
