Incredible Sonovox - Kay Kyser - 1940 film "You'll Find Out"
Amazing device that gives voice to musical instruments. The Sonovox consists of one or two louspeakers placed on the throat that play the source sound. The performer whispers the words while the speakers stand in for the voice box. Used for the talking train in Disney's Dumbo, uncountable radio promos, a tube-in-the-mouth version "Talk Box" was used by Frampton to make his guitar sing, and all-electronic "Vocoder" versions are still used in current pop music.

A ZOOT SUIT (For My Sunday Gal) ~ Kay Kyser & his Orchestra 1942 .wmv
A ZOOT SUIT (For My Sunday Gal) ~ Sully Mason w/ vocal group ~ Kay Kyser & his Orchestra ~January 16, 1942 ~ Columbia Records. The vocal group consisted of Trudy Erwin, Dorothy Crawford, Jack Martin, & Max Williams. Composed by L. Wolfe Gilbert & Bob O'Brien. The history of what is known as a "Zoot Suit" finds some it's origins in France, then leads it's way into the "French Quarter" (due to it's once large French population) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Also, there is a link between the suits worn by The Southern Gentlemen of the deep South, such as South Carolina, Mississppi, etc. etc., during the 1800's and the Zoot Suit, similar minus some of the bag. During the late 1930's until just after the very beginning of WWII, the "Zoot Suit" found some minor popularity, but as a whole, it never really caught on and as rationing increased and with the Zoot Suits need of so much extra fabric , the Zoot Suit was slowly phased out . As was common practice in the 1920's - 1930's - 1940's - 1950's, A ZOOT SUIT (For My Sunday Gal) had multiple versions recorded of it by a variety of top recording stars of the day, including : The Andrews Sisters, Bob Crosby's Orchestra, Art Kassell's Orchestra, Paul Whiteman's Orchestra, Benny Goodman's Orchestra, Ray Herbeck's Orchestra, & Harry Roy's Orchestra. Though criticized by 1970's & 1980's music critics and being dubbed "Covering" or "Stealing" by these same people, who obviously had no knowledge of the history of the music business ...

Kay Kyser & His Orchestra - I Never Knew I could Love Anybody
I always did like the Kay Kyser Orchestra, it could swing as much as the rest in that era, great brass section a lot of punch, and also the beautiful Marilyn Maxwell who was also in The Lemon Drop Kid with Bob Hope James Kern ("Kay") Kyser (June 18, 1905 -- July 23, 1985) was a popular bandleader and radio personality of the 1930s and 1940s. Although Kyser and his orchestra gained fame through the Kollege of Musical Knowledge, they were an excellent band in their own right. They had 11 number one records, including some of the most popular songs of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Unlike most other big bands of the era, which centered around only the bandleader, individual members of Kyser's band became stars in their own right and would often receive the spotlight. Some of the more popular members included vocalist Harry Babbitt, cornetist Merwin Bogue (aka Ish Kabibble), trombonist Bruce King, saxophonist Jack Martin (who sang lead vocal on the number one hit, "Strip Polka"), Ginny Simms (who had her own successful acting and singing career after leaving Kyser's band), Sully Mason, Mike Douglas (years before he became a popular TV talk show host) and Georgia Carroll. Carroll, a blond fashion model and actress whose best-known role was Betsy Ross in Yankee Doodle Dandy, was dubbed "Gorgeous Georgia Carroll" when she joined the group in 1943. Within a year, she and Kyser married. Kyser was also known for singing song titles, a device copied by Sammy Kaye and Blue Barron ...

Kay Kyser and his Kollege of Musical Knowledge - Medley (1932)
James Kern ("Kay") Kyser (June 18, 1905 -- July 23, 1985) was a popular bandleader and radio personality of the 1930s and 1940s. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was senior class president, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Because of his popularity and enthusiasm as a cheerleader, he was invited by Hal Kemp to take over as bandleader when Kemp ventured north to further his career. He began taking clarinet lessons but was better as an entertaining announcer than a musician. He adopted the initial of his middle name as part of his stage name, for its alliterative effect. Following graduation, Kyser and his band, which included Sully Mason on saxophone and arranger George Duning, toured Midwest restaurants and night clubs and gradually built a following. They were particularly popular at Chicago's Blackhawk restaurant, where Kyser came up with an act combining a quiz with music which became Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge. The act was broadcast on the Mutual Radio in 1938 and then moved to NBC Radio from 1939 to 1949. The show rose in the ratings and spawned many imitators. Kyser led the band as "The Ol' Perfessor. Although Kyser and his orchestra gained fame through the Kollege of Musical Knowledge, they were an excellent band in their own right. They had 11 number one records, including some of the most popular songs of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Unlike most other big bands of the era, which centered around only the ...

Kay Kyser - Friendship
Kay Kyser is awesome and I was dissappointed that there is hardly any of his music on Youtube. I dont own the song, I'm only uploading for others to enjoy. LYRICS: If you're ever in a jam, here I am If you're ever in a mess, SOS If you ever feel so happy, you land in jail... I'm your bail. It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship. When other friendships have been forgot, Ours will still be hot. Lah-dle-ah-dle-ah-dle dig, dig, dig. If you're ever up a tree, phone to me. If you're ever down a well, ring my bell. If you ever lose your teeth, and you're out to dine... borrow mine. It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship. When other friendships have been forgate, Ours will still be great. Lah-dle-ah-dle-ah-dle, chuck, chuck, chuck. If they ever black your eyes, put me wise. If they ever cook your goose, turn me loose. If they ever put a bullet through your brain... I'll complain. It's friendship, friendship, just a perfect blendship. When other friendships have been forgit, Ours will still be it. Lah-dle-ah-dle-ah-dle, hep, hep, hep.
