KFWB is a Los Angeles, California AM radio station operating on 980 kHz with 5,000 watts of power from a transmitter site near Lincoln Park (East Los Angeles). The station had a mostly all-news format from 1968 until September 8, 2009, after which it converted to a news-talk format. KFWB is operated by the KFWB Asset Trust.

The station's history goes back to 1925, when it was launched by Sam Warner, the founder of Warner Brothers. The station launched the careers of such stars as Ronald Reagan and Bing Crosby. The station was the first to broadcast the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.

Although some think its call letters stand for Keep Filming Warner Bros., actually the callsign was sequentially issued by the Department of Commerce, predecessor to the FCC (March 1925) at the same time as KFWA in Ogden Utah (Feb 1925) and KFWC for San Bernardino (also Feb 1925).

A 1940 Merrie Melodies cartoon, produced by Warner Bros. (and directed by Chuck Jones), entitled "Bedtime for Sniffles," has Sniffles the mouse trying to stay awake for Santa Claus, and a radio announcer signs off for the night identifying the station as KFWB. Another cartoon of the same year, "The Timid Toreador," co-directed by Bob Clampett, shows an announcer broadcasting on this station. (A good trick, since the action takes place in Mexico, which has a totally different ITU prefix block.) However, the Merrie Melodies cartoon for "I've Got A Torch Song" released in conjunction with "Gold Diggers of 1933" has KFWB written on the microphones in the scenes of the torch singers.

Rudy Maxa (born 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American consumer travel expert. He's the host and executive producer of 85 half-hour travel shows on the world's great destinations that are broadcast on public television in the US with the titles Smart Travels: Europe with Rudy Maxa, Smart Travels: Pacific Rim with Rudy Maxa, and--since 2008--Rudy Maxa's World. His most recent 20 episodes of Rudy Maxa's World are also broadcast overseas on Travel Channel International and have received numerous awards, including two regional Emmy awards.

In addition, Maxa hosts America's most widely syndicated radio travel show, a two-hour weekend show also called Rudy Maxa's World.

Maxa began his career in journalism after graduating from Ohio University (BSJ, '71) as an investigative reporter, magazine writer, and personalities columnist at The Washington Post (1971-83). His reporting on a Capitol Hill sex scandal and the resulting changes in congressional rules was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, and he received the John Hancock Award for Excellence in Business and Financial Journalism for a series of stories on an international Ponzi scheme.

Scott Nigel Kenneth Wiseman (born 9 October 1985) is an English footballer who plays for Barnsley as a defender. His preferred position is right-back.

Born in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, Wiseman had been involved with his hometown club, Hull City, since the age of six, making his senior debut for the Tigers in a 1-1 draw against Kidderminster Harriers in the 2003-04 season. He made only four appearances for City in the 2004-05 season and had a brief loan spell at Boston United. He made an increased number of appearances for Hull in 2005-06, but then spent the first half of the 2006-07 season on loan to Rotherham United, where on 23 September 2006 he scored his first senior goal, in a match against Leyton Orient.

In March, he moved on loan again, to Darlington. He joined Darlington permanently in May 2007.

Wiseman has also represented his country at Under-20 level in the Toulon Tournament, a competition which saw then Hull City and England Under-21s manager Peter Taylor take charge of the England team.

Tess Taylor (birth name Tess Amber Adler) (also known as Tess Taylor Arlington) born February 11, 1990 is an American reality TV personality known for her reality show Pretty Wild with her "sisters" Gabby and Alexis Neiers. She became Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Year in 2010.

Taylor was named Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Week for the week of July 13, 2009, and subsequently Cyber Girl of the Month for November 2009. She was later named Playboy's Cyber Girl of the Year for 2010.

Taylor costarred on the E! reality show Pretty Wild, which depicts her life and attempts to become a model. Her adoptive family also appears on the series.

Taylor modeled and walked the runway for Biatta Intimates.

Taylor has a cameo in the straight-to-DVD film Frat Party, with her sister Alexis.

In January 2011, Tess checked herself into the SOBA Recovery center in Malibu, California for addiction to opiates. She planned to stay there for a 12-month inpatient program. After 30 days in the Malibu facility, she transferred to an outpatient program in The Pacific Palisades.

Robert "Bob" McCormick (1869 – unknown) was a Scottish footballer who played for Stoke in the Football League.

McCormick started playing for Scottish club Abercorn and he helped them win the 1886 Scottish Cup. In 1889 he moved down to England to play for Stoke. McCormick played in 12 league matches and scored twice during the 1889–90 season before returning to Abercorn.
