You Can't Take It With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman
Enjoy a short, but very funny, scene from The Rep's production of You Can't Take It With You, directed by Steven Woolf. Also enjoy review quotes from local theatre critics. Escape into the delightfully daffy world of the eccentric Sycamore family, where everyday routines include exploding fireworks, collecting snakes and a twirling ballerina. When "normal" daughter Alice announces her boyfriend's rich, conservative parents are coming to dinner, the family promises to behave, but when the guests show up, all bets are off. Winner of a Pulitzer Prize, this classic comedy is pure fun. "Perhaps the most perfect comedy ever written for the stage. A warm, romantic and very funny play written by the masters of laugh-filled plays." - Steven Woolf.

Theater Talk: 829
In tribute to the late KITTY CARLISLE HART, Theater Talk presents its 2002 interview with her and ANNE KAUFMAN SCHNEIDER in which they discussed the legacy of the legendary creative team, Kaufman and Hart. George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart were two of the most successful playwrights of the Twentieth Century. Their hit collaborations, including the classic comedies: YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER and ONCE IN A LIFETIME, continue to be produced constantly, wherever people love theater. Kitty Carlisle Hart was a well-known and beloved actress/singer ("A Night at The Opera") and television personality ("To Tell the Truth"), as well as a champion of the arts. She was married to Moss Hart from 1946 until his death in 1961. She also was Chairman and then, Chairman Emeritas of The New York State Council of The Arts. Anne Kaufman Schneider is an eminent arts consultant, philanthropist and the daughter of George S. Kaufman. Together they lovingly oversaw and protected Kaufman and Hart's theatrical legacy. Theater Talk is a series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993 and is co-hosted by Michael Riedel (Broadway columnist for the New York Post) and series producer Susan Haskins. The program is one of the few independent productions on PBS and now airs weekly on Thirteen/WNET in New York and WGBH in Boston. Now, CUNY TV offers New York City viewers additional opportunities to catch each week's show. (Of course, Theater Talk ...

One Life to Live, Lady in the Dark
DISCLAIMER AND STATEMENT: To all of the cast, crew, producers, NT, etc who were involved with this production, I do not own the original of this recording, I did not record this myself. As a matter of fact if I was in London, and adept with a camera at 9 years of age, maybe this would be mine! I am only stating that from a fan of not only Maria Friedman, but for the sake of LADY IN THE DARK fans, don't delete this video! So little from LADY IN THE DARK (any of the various productions) is available and it is my humble goal to bring this material and the casts involved to the spotlight as often as I can. This is the only clip I will provide on Youtube. Anyone who wants to chat me up about LADY feel free to find me on tumblr (search LadyLizaElliott or Maria Friedman you WILL find posts of mine) If there are any questions concerns, added disclaimers I should place, or at least a warning if this is going to be removed, please feel free to contact me, as an actor and techie myself I respect the copyright rules (for the most part) but feeling that this was a rare opportunity to bring some joy to fellow fans, I could not pass it up. 1997 PRODUCTION OF LADY IN THE DARK at The Royal National Theatre Directed by Franchesca Zambello Music by Kurt Weill Lyrics by Ira Gershwin Book by Moss Hart Original Orchestrations done by Kurt Weill and Maurice Abravnel Musical Direction (97) by Terry Davies Sets by Adrienne Lobel Costumes: Nikki Gillibrand Stage: Lytellton Theatre Cast featured in ...

Your hair streaked with sun-light, Your lips red as flame, Your face witha lustre that puts gold to shame! But if I'd ever leave you, It couldn't be in autumn. How I'd leave in autumn I never will know. I've seen how you sparkle When fall nips the air. I know you in autumn And I must be there. And could I leave you running merrily through the snow? In her 2-part oral history interview done in conjunction with New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT), Kitty Carlisle Hart (1910-2007) talks about her early musical training in violin and piano. She reminisces about some of her appearances in movies in the 1930s, including working with Bing Crosby and her insistence on using her own singing voice in the Marx Brothers vehicle, "A Night at the Opera." She speaks fondly of her years as a regular panelist on the long-running game show "To Tell the Truth" and talks about other television appearances and later films including Woody Allen's "Radio Days". She also speaks about her late husband, playwright Moss Hart, who she says was the love of her life and "made a party by just stepping in the room."
