Enniskillen paused to reflect this morning at a moving service of remembrance and thanksgiving 25 years after the Enniskillen bombing. The service was attended by Secretary of State Theresa Villiers and First Minister Peter Robinson. The names of the 12 people who died as a result of the bombing were read out as flautist Alvin Mullan played Abide with Me. Family members of victims laid wreaths at the Cenotaph.

Enniskillen to Belfast in Eight Minutes (an average of 600mph!) with jokes!
Ever wondered what it would be like to travel on the road at over 600 miles per hour? Bet you wish you could at times! This video gives you an idea of how it might feel. Join me on a trip from Enniskillen to Belfast in Northern Ireland - a distance of 84 miles. It was filmed at a legal road speed in the spring of 2012 and the footage accelerated using Corel Video Studio X3 to speeds varying from around 500 to 700 miles an hour. Just in case you get bored (unlikely) there are jokes (I know - the old ones are the best!) along the way. Enjoy!

The Enniskillen Rememberance Day Massacre
A tribute to the people of Enniskillen, who lost their lives to the "Poppy Bomb / Rememberance Day Massacre" of 1987. My thoughts are with those who lost a family member or friend, and those seriously injured by the cowardly attack. May those who died on that fateful day be remembered forever in our hearts and minds, never forgotten. Rest in Peace. Lest We Forget. Feel free to pay your respects to those lost in the bombing in the comments section. I will delete any comments I deem to be offensive or confrontational; this is not the time nor place for your hatred. tags: northern, ireland, troubles, 1987, enniskillen, bombing, rememberance day, 1969, campaign, bloody sunday, sinn fein, ulster, RUC, army, ireland, UVF, IRA, terror, division, sacrifice, soldiers, UDR, belfast, rangers lament.

Queen's Historic Diamond Jubilee visit to Enniskillen
The Queen was welcomed to Enniskillen yesterday (Tuesday 26th July) by cheers from hundreds of well wishers eager to catch a glimpse of Her Majesty. It was a historic visit that saw her visit St Macartin's Cathedral followed by a short walk across the road to St Michael's Roman Catholic Church, which has been viewed by many as a huge leap in cross community relations for Northern Ireland.

Queen In Enniskillen Before Historic Handshake
For the first time, the Queen has stepped inside a Roman Catholic church on the island of Ireland in what is being seen as a hugely symbolic moment. It came as she visited the town of Enniskillen - the scene of one of the worst atrocities of The Troubles - during a two-day Diamond Jubilee tour of Northern Ireland. Her Majesty was cheered as she waved to the crowds outside St Michael's Church and then those inside clapped as she entered the building. Earlier in the day, the Queen attended a thanksgiving service at an Anglican cathedral in the town, on the eve of her historic handshake with Deputy First Minister and alleged former IRA commander Martin McGuinness. Eleven people died in the IRA bombing of the war memorial on Remembrance Sunday 1987. After the thanksgiving service, the Queen was thought to have met the families of some of the victims. Her arrival in the province was delayed by almost an hour after bad weather forced the Royal flight to divert from Enniskillen to Aldergrove Airport, near Belfast. Hundreds of people lined the streets of Enniskillen to greet the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as they made their way to the cathedral in a chauffeur-driven car. A trumpet fanfare marked their arrival in St Macartin's Cathedral through its west door, where they were welcomed by the Dean of Clogher, the Very Reverend Kenneth Hall. Relatives of the Enniskillen bombing victims have said they are relieved the Queen's controversial meeting with Mr McGuinness is taking ...
