TRAILER - Adaptation. (2002)
Director Spike Jonze delivers a stunningly original comedy that seamlessly blends fictional characters and situations with the lives of real people: obsessive orchid hunter John Laroche (Cooper), New Yorker journalist Susan Orlean (Streep), Hollywood screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Cage), and his twin brother, Donald (also Cage). As Charlie struggles to adapt Orlean's best-selling book "The Orchid Thief," he writes himself into his own movie. The various stories crash into one another exploding into a wildly imaginative film. www.sonypictures.com

"Adaptation." (2002) -- Screenplay Seminar Scene
This scene from 2002's "Adaptation." very well incorporates all clichés of the writing (or any creative) process: the urgent desire to express oneself, the inconfidence appearing when evaluating one's own work, and the apparently self-confident and emotionally strong "outside world": The amount of people gathered in this screenplay-writing seminar illustrates the masses of people wanting to "learn" to write in order to express their feelings - apparently a quite general human desire. The amount of people attending the seminar emphasizes the widespread desire and serves in its abundance to communicate the force of this need. Watch Nicholas Cage's slouched composure and body language, as he plays the humorously oversubscribed (screenplay) writer Charlie Kaufman - a man doubting every aspect of his own existence, and being extremely inconfident. This portrayal contrasts starkly with the (a few moments earlier) self-proclaimed "asshole" seminar teacher (Brian Cox playing screenplay writing guru Robert McKee). He shows much more self-confidence by his much louder voice, his body language (he only looks at the questioner every now and then while the Charlie Kaufman character needs to stare continuously at the teacher) and his improvisation of dramatical scenes. Excerpt from "Adaptation." with Nicholas Cage as Charlie Kaufman and Brian Cox as Robert McKee. Written by Charlie Kaufman (and Donald Kaufman), directed by Spike Jonze, released and copyrighted by Columbia Pictures and ...

CrossFit - Evolution of Adaptation
The CrossFit Journal - (journal.crossfit.com) Nearly three years ago, Marine veteran Nicholas Thom came to CrossFit Rubicon without his legs and without some of his fingers. Eager to become a member, he inquired about monthly rates. Dave "Chef" Wallach, owner of the Vienna, Va., affiliate, would only accept $1. "And therein started a program that's now moving into our third year that anyone who's been injured in the line of duty—military, law enforcement or first responder—they and their family train with us for $1 a month," he says. That program has since grown, and last year CrossFit Rubicon hosted the 2012 Working Wounded Games, a competition for amputees and severely wounded veterans. Workouts included one-arm sled pulls and seated wall-ball shots. Calling someone an "adaptive athlete" is the highest form of praise at CrossFit Rubicon, Wallach says. "It's their capacity to adapt and overcome far greater than any of what we would call able-bodied athletes that puts them above and beyond any of the commitment, any of the focus and any of the achievement that I've ever seen done by an athlete that has all their limbs," he explains. The Pleasure Garden
The film takes a look at the world of showgirls in the "wild" 20's and tells a story of love, sex, passion, infidelity and murder. After much confusion and errors the real two lovers find each other. Hitchcock has adapted the novel by Oliver Sandys with emotion and suspense. This very first work of Hitchcock is an exciting thriller with high tension guaranteed to the end. "The Pleasure Garden" was actually Hitchcock's second film, but the first to be completed. Hitchcock's first film, "Number 13 ", could not be completed because the production company went bankrupt. "The Pleasure Garden" became a later highly regarded and critically acclaimed film. In the beginning a Co-producer had to be found, because nobody in Britain had agreed to provide money for a film of a novice director. As a sponsor then a German production company, the Munich Lichtspielkunst Emelka was found and the film was made as german production at Munich-Geiselgasteig. The outdoor shots were later taken in Italy. Movie premiere, and with it the first performance of a Hitchcock film ever, was on the 3rd of November 1925 in Munich. The film has different names in various countries. The original UK title is "The Pleasure Garden". In France the film is known as "Le jardin du plaisir", in Germany the name of the movie is "Irrgarten der Leidenschaft", in Austria it's "Der Garten der Lust", in Italy it's "Il labirinto delle passioni" and "Il giardino del piacere", in Sweden it's "Lustgården" and in Spain as ...

VG Cats AWNN - Episode 11
The VG Cats Adaptation With No Name - Episode 11 VG Cats created by Scott Ramsoomair www.vgcats.com Strips Adapted: #149 - Ninja in the Night #159 - Party Games #184 - Pungent Stench of Mildew #218 - Relapse #221 - Operating Buddy #272 - An Outsider's Perspective This episode is several days late, many apologies for that. I just haven't been in a great mood recently and mixing a comedic series while in a bad mood is not something that works out all that well, if at all. And it was "not at all" in my case. I won't go into details here because I'm thinking of reworking my "sad" into "mad" and write an amusingly hysterical rant about it, but let's just say it involves the complete genocide of the bogan people of Australia and why it is not only a justifiable proposition, but the ONLY proposition worth considering as well. It'll have charts and statistics and other scientific-y stuff to prove my absolutely irrefutable point. Anyway, not the best way to announce this but if you watched this video all the way through you'll have noted that this is the "second-to-last episode ever". Yes, it is true. After episode 12, I will no longer be releasing the "The VG Cats Adaptation With No Name" on a bimonthly basis - all forms of schedulised VG Cats adaptation entertainment from my crew and myself will cease to be. I'd only really ever intended to maintain this schedule for a couple of episodes to get this VG Cats adaptation-ing out of my system, in any case - and 12 seems to be a good ...

SONIC UNIVERSE Animated Adaptation Act 2 - Scourge: LOCK-DOWN
Apologies in advance! I've experienced some unforeseen technical difficulties, post-premiere deadline, but at least it has been resolved now - lesson learnt for next time! Nevertheless I really appreciate your patience. Here are my thoughts that I'd like to share with you all... This is it. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls of the SONIC UNIVERSE fandom, a month long project in the making, this was something to be treated with a lot of TLC (tender-loving-care) as a Sonic fan. This video (one of the many successful 'animated adaptation initiatives' that I've produced so far) is probably the BEST I've ever done. It was made for the fans, it's made for the creators, it's made for the team who helped me out and it's made for me. I love comics and I love bringing them to life in this manner... It's so much fun and there is so much to learn from it. This video details my ability to animate, my experience in directing an already existing story and presenting it through an innovative media initiative, it demonstrates my passion and ability to voice-act for entertainment, and finally, the ability to incorporate music, sfxs and voice-overs together in a professional manner. Because of this achievement I am extremely proud of myself and I'm at the point of being very keen to making more animated adaptation videos in future to my most beloved comic & graphic novel series. As you can see, I'm here to not muck around, I want to show you guys a new way of appreciating this already ...
