Tasting and Planting seeds: Dragon Fruit, Mamey Sapote and other things.
I went to my local oriental store hoping to find exotic fruits but no luck! All I got from there was Lemongrass and Shallots. I did however bought a Dragon fruit and Mamey Sapote at a grocery store. I will try to grow the seeds. Bonus, my ginger started to sprout already! I'll be putting it on the ground soon. I've seen the ginger flowers and I think they look pretty.

Mamey Sapote Exotic Fruit. So Good!
www.RawLifeHealthShow.com Today I introduce you to the Mamey Sapote Fruit. I love it raw all by itself. Many people eat them in milkshakes. The flavor is like a combination of pumpkin, sweet potato, and cherries with the texture of an avocado.

Chocolate Pudding Fruit or Black Sapote Review DaleysFruit.com.au
The Chocolate Pudding Fruit or Black Sapote is a very popular trending back yard fruit tree in Australia. They can produce hundreds of kg's of fruit and for those who know how to prepare them they have that chocolate pudding taste however we must say it isn't the same taste as cadbury. Mix it up with Cream and nice and cold and you can definitely impress your guests. It is also a very close relative to the persimmon.

Chocolate Pudding Fruit in Hawaii - Chocolate Sapote
SavoryVeggieStews.com The big island of Hawaii is a paradise for raw foodists. Perfect climate and an incredible selection of exotic fruit. Here I show you a fruit that has the consistency of pudding. It's meat is a dark brown in color and it's mildly sweet and has a similar taste to chocolate. Though not exact. It's the black sapote, one of many tropical fruit you can easily find all over the big island of Hawaii. I also show you other fruit we have in the house including champedak, abiu, papaya, mangoes, persimmon, tiny bananas, lots of avocado varieties. I also show you outside our front window and show you some of the coconut we can buy here. We got Malaysian and Samoan varieties from a farmer who's been on my email list for years.

Mamey Sapote (Pouteria Sapota)- near Paucarina Lodge, Iquitos Peru
www.paucarina.com - Tours in Iquitos and Loreto Region on Amazon River Sapote Fruit- The fruit is eaten raw out of hand or made into milkshakes, smoothies, ice cream and fruit bars. The fruit's flavor is variously described as a combination of pumpkin, sweet potato, and maraschino cherries with the texture of an avocado. Some consider the fruit to be an aphrodisiac.[citation needed] The brown skin has a texture somewhat between sandpaper and the fuzz on a peach. The fruit's texture is creamy and soft. A mamey sapote is ripe when the flesh is pink when a fleck of the skin is removed. The flesh should give slightly, as with a ripe kiwifruit.

FREE White Sapote Harvest! Organic
White sapote is and apple sized fruit with white or yellow creamy, custardy pulp that has an excellent sweet banana, cherimoya, pear flavor. White sapote's are well known throughout much of Central America and Mexico. I was able to harvest three bags of fruit (and half a bucket from the fig tree) from the tree I know in Malibu, don't ask the location is a secret =). It is best to scrape the soft skin off first because it is bitter. The seeds are large and have pointy ends, so be careful. FOr high up fruit, you can shake the tree and collect fruit that falls. Watch your head! White sapote is a medium to large tree which can grow more than feet high. The flowers are formed in large clusters and may occur off and on a few times annually, with fruit ripening half a year later. There are green skinned varieties, yellow skinned varieties, and many mixed combinations. Pick fruits just before they begin to soften, if you wait until they fall then the fruits tend to smash when they drop due to their soft flesh and skin. Mature trees can produce hundreds of pounds of fruit every year, it is a very high yielding tree. Hardiness: The white sapote is subtropical to tropical, surviving temperatures to 22F for short periods of time.White sapote, Casimiroa edulis, also known as cochitzapotl in the Nahuatl language (meaning '"sleep-sapote") is a species of tropical fruiting tree in the family Rutaceae, native to eastern Mexico and Central America south to Costa Rica. Mature Casimiroa ...

Japanese Pepsi: White Sapote Pepsi
Every summer Pepsi in Japan releases a summer only flavor of Pepsi. We've run the gamut of things like Yogurt Pepsi, Blue Hawaiian, Baobab Pepsi, Azuki Pepsi, Shiso Pepsi, and Cucumber Pepsi. This year is no exception with Pepsi Caribbean Gold, which is a white sapote flavored pepsi. It's not half bad.

Sapote Pigeout =0
Sometimes when I'm stuffing my face full of soo much fruit it feels like I have fruit eating DNA. It feels so natural, like every fiber and cell in my body is saying "yes, this is right!" When I am in a store buying a case of bananas (You get a whole case discount for the 40lb case, usually 10%) I always get funny looks from people and some people actually ask me questions, which I love. I always refer them to the earthlings documentary, the 80/10/10 diet book by Dr. Doug Graham, and other references. When people talk to you in passing like this, it is best to get short references out there. Stuff that people can remember. I love white sapote! I started off with 3 bags full a few days ago and I have almost eaten all of them. I will be harvesting some more soon! They are so creamy and delicious. Like a banana, pear, cherimoya, custard. Go 80/10/10 high fruit, low fat raw vegan!
