RoboCop (1987) Montage
RoboCop is a 1987 science fiction film directed by Paul Verhoeven. Set in a crime-ridden Detroit, Michigan in the near future, RoboCop centers on a police officer who is murdered brutally and subsequently re-created as a super-human cyborg known as "RoboCop". In addition to being an action film, RoboCop includes larger themes regarding the media, gentrification, corruption, and human nature. It has spawned merchandise, two sequels, three television series, a television mini-series, video games and two comic book adaptations. The film features Peter Weller, Dan O'Herlihy, Kurtwood Smith, Nancy Allen, Miguel Ferrer and Ronny Cox. If you're wondering why the hell I have The Terminator music playing to a RoboCop montage, it's kind of a reference to the fact that the early theatrical teaser trailer for RoboCop featured the music back in 1986. RoboCop is my favourite film and quite possible one of THE best....pure masterpiece of cinematography and I'm very passionate about it. I hope I've expressed that and other Robo fans like this video. Favourite scenes: The coke factory where he busts in and pwns everyone along with the ending... "Nice shootin' son, what's your name?" "Murphy" Footage: RoboCop: Directors Cut Taken From: RoboCop Trilogy - DVD Box Set Music: Terminator Overture Composed: Brad Fiedel Performed: Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops Orchestra Captured using: Fraps 3.0 Editing: Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976 ...

Robocop (1987) - Hagfilms Honest Review
Robocop 1987 We all know the story of Robocop, right? Set in a crime ridden Detroit, in the not so distant future, good cop Alex Murphy played by Peter Weller is killed whilst in pursuit of cop killer Clarence Boddicker (Kirtwood Smith). The powerful corporation OCP seals a deal which puts them in charge of the struggling police force and Vice President Dick Jones (Ronny Cox) is developing a brutal law enforcement droid, ED-209. Unfortunately for Jones, as a result of a fatal and messy malfunction during a demonstration, his project is scrapped and rival executive Bob Morton steps in at the last minute and is given the go ahead with his own Robocop project for which the body of Alex Murphy is used. The future of law enforcement. Classic, satirical, ultra-violent sci-fi action ensues. I remember watching a copy of Robocop on VHS when I was probably only about 8 or 9. It was one of the most shocking films that I had ever watched, up until that point. Soon, with my friends, we were re-enacting the movie in the play ground, shooting off limbs and repeating obscenities. For a ten year old, the movie had everything, blood, gore, language, explosions, a bit of boobage, and not forgetting some great robots, but that was over 20 years ago. How does the film fare now that such time has elapsed? I was actually surprised to see that it had faired better than other Verhoven sci-fi movies, such as Total Recall and Starship Troopers. I like my action films short and sweet. If they reach ...

RetroCast-RoboCop(1987) 1/4
A brand new retrocast! this time around, I review one of my all time favorites, Robocop(1987), starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Dan O' Herilhy, Paul McCrane, Ray Wise, and Robert DoQui. Directed by Paul Verhoeven. Trivia Edward Neumeier came up with the idea for RoboCop after he had helped out on the set of Blade Runner, which was about cops hunting robots that looked like humans in the future. Intrigued, Neumeier turned the scenario around into a future where a cop looking like a robot would be hunting human criminals. For the theatrical trailer, Orion used the music from their film The Terminator which is also a movie about a cyborg (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger). Schwarzenegger was briefly considered for the role of RoboCop, but those involved with the film were concerned he would be too bulky in the suit and end up looking like the Michelin Man. Stephanie Zimbalist was originally cast as Lewis, but had to give up the part when she was called back to film more episodes of Remington Steele. Nancy Allen was then cast and Paul Verhoeven had her cut her hair shorter and shorter several times until it was short enough, as Verhoeven wanted to desexualize the character. Two scenes were storyboarded, but never filmed. The drawings are shown on the DVD. The first was a scene where RoboCop visits his grave. The second was a long car chase, an alternate scene that got them to the old steel mill (where Murphy died). This car chase was to be set ...

Augmented (hyper)Reality: Domestic Robocop
The latter half of the 20th century saw the built environment merged with media space, and architecture taking on new roles related to branding, image and consumerism. Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it.
A film produced for my final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.

Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.

SILENCE OF DEATH directed by Mani Nasry (16MM FILM) 1ST YEAR RYERSON UNIVERSITY STUDENT FILM
IMDB PAGE
www.imdb.me/maninasry
This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.
