Remi Nicole

Remi Nicole Wilson, better known as Remi Nicole, is an English singer-songwriter and actress who was born in North London, but now resides in Los Angeles. She is best known for her single "Go Mr Sunshine", which was released in 2007. Her debut album, My Conscience and I, was released later that year and her second, Cupid Shoot Me, on 31 August 2009. As an actress she is credited as Remi Wilson.

Background

Nicole has a mixed background of English, Austrian, Trinidadian, and Jewish heritage and has lived in Holloway, Islington, Highgate, Finsbury Park, Tufnell Park and Highbury.

She trained as an actress at Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, graduating in 2004.

Acting career

Wilson's stage credits include Two Step, a play by Rashan Stone (2004); Playboy of the West Indies (2004); and Promises and Lies, the UB40 jukebox musical (2006).

She was also a regular cast member in the first series of Hyperdrive, playing the role of Cadet Piretti.

Music career

Nicole started performing officially in October 2006, and gained recognition in the UK after her song Go Mr Sunshine was first played on BBC Radio 1 in August 2007.

Remi

The Remi were a Belgic people of north-eastern Gaul (Gallia Belgica). The Romans regarded them as a civitas, a major and influential polity of Gaul, The Remi occupied the northern Champagne plain, on the southern fringes of the Forest of Ardennes, between the rivers Mosa (Meuse) and Matrona (Marne), and along the river valleys of the Aisne and its tributaries the Aire and the Vesle. During the Gallic Wars in the mid-1st century BC, they allied themselves under the leadership of Iccius and Andecombogius with Julius Caesar. They maintained their loyalty to Rome throughout the entire war, and were one of the few Gallic polities not to join in the rebellion of Vercingetorix.

Cinta Laura is the first studio album by the German-born singer, Cinta Laura. The album was released on February 27, 2010 throughout Indonesia, produced by Jan Djuhana and labeled Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. Cupid Shoot Me is the second album by Remi Nicole, released in the UK on 31 August. The album was produced by Grammy-winning producer Mark Taylor, who has worked with Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Diana Ross, as well as Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Nelly Furtado.

The album is a mixture of styles ranging from doo wop to rockabilly, girl-group to soulful rock. Nicole describes it as an album about "not being in love", and says that "It’s like a fairy tale. There’s something quite enchanted about it.". She wrote all 11 songs on the album, and performed the vocals, guitar, keyboards, and drums for the record. The first single from the album will be Standing Tears Apart, released on 24 August.
