Jordan Izaak Pundik (born October 12, 1979 in Englewood, New Jersey) is an American musician and songwriter. He is a founding member and the frontman of Floridian rock band New Found Glory, for whom he sings lead vocals and contributes lyrics. He was also the guitarist in the band's now defunct side-project, the International Superheroes of Hardcore, where he performed under the pseudonym of "Chugga Chugga".
Jordan Pundik was born in Englewood, New Jersey to Carlos and Maureen Pundik. His family moved to Pompano Beach, Florida when he was 3 years old. He has a brother named Daniel and a sister named Edra.
The origins of the band New Found Glory date back to the summer of 1997 when Pundik met Steve Klein at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and the pair began writing music together. Pundik later stated the band name was created whilst he and Klein were working in Red Lobster together. Pundik says, "We came up with A New Found Glory, we wrote it on a napkin. I think we pulled some of it from "A Newfound Interest in Massachusetts" by the Get Up Kids". They recruited friend Ian Grushka on bass, who they had previously played with in a band named "Inner City Kids". The band practiced in Grushka's garage, and later invited Joe "Taco Joe" Marino to play drums. Shortly thereafter, Chad Gilbert (lead guitar), former vocalist of Shai Hulud, joined to complete the quintet.
Jordan (/ˈdʒɔːrdən/; Arabic: الأردن Al-Urdun), officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Arabic: المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية Al-Mamlakah Al-Urduniyah Al-Hashimiyah), is an Arab kingdom in Western Asia, on the East Bank of the Jordan River. Jordan is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the east and south, Iraq to the north-east, Syria to the north, and Israel and Palestine to the west. Since the dawn of civilization, the country's location at the crossroads of the Middle East has served as a strategic nexus connecting Asia, Africa and Europe.
Archaeologists found evidence on inhabitance dating as far back as the Paleolithic period. Three kingdoms emerged on the territory of modern Jordan at the very end of the Bronze Age: Ammon, Moab and Edom. The lands were later part of several kingdoms and empires, most notably the Nabatean Kingdom, the Roman Empire and finally the Ottoman Empire from the 16th until the early 20th century. After the Partitioning of the Ottoman Empire after World war I by Britain and France, the Emirate of Transjordan was officially recognized by the Council of the League of Nations in 1922. In 1946, Jordan became an independent sovereign state officially known as The Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan. The capture of the West Bank by Jordan during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War has showed that the Arab Legion forces known today as the Jordanian Armed Forces were the most effective among the Arab troops involved in the war. The same year, Abdullah I took the title King of Jordan. The name of the state was changed to The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on 1 December 1948.
New Found Glory (formerly A New Found Glory) is an American pop punk band from Coral Springs, Florida, formed in 1997. The band currently consists of Jordan Pundik (lead vocals), Chad Gilbert (lead guitar, backing vocals), Ian Grushka (bass guitar) and Cyrus Bolooki (drums). Longtime rhythm guitarist and lyricist Steve Klein departed from the band in late 2013, following "personal differences." During their lengthy recording career, the band have released eight studio albums, one live album, two EPs, and three cover albums.
Emerging as part of the second wave of pop punk in the late 1990s, music critics consider them a key pioneer of the genre. Labelled the "godfathers of (the second late 1990's wave of) pop punk",AllMusic credits them for "practically serving alongside the work of Blink-182 as the blueprint to the entire genre for the early 2000s." Also renowned for their energetic live performances, the band has garnered a cult following since their inception.
Simple Plan is a French-Canadian rock band from Montreal, Quebec. The band has released four studio albums: No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls (2002), Still Not Getting Any... (2004), Simple Plan (2008), and Get Your Heart On! (2011), with their fifth Taking One for the Team stated to be released in February 2016. The band has also released an EP titled Get Your Heart On - The Second Coming! (2013), in addition to two live albums: Live in Japan 2002 (2003) and MTV Hard Rock Live (2005).
The band performed at the Vans Warped Tour every year from 2001 to 2005, and in 2011, 2013, and 2015. The band also performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics closing ceremony, along with The X Factor Australia. In December 2012, the band performed at Mood Indigo, the college festival of IIT Bombay in Mumbai, India. In 2004, the band participated in the movie New York Minute, starring the Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley. Simple Plan also performed at the 2016 NHL Winter Classic.
Simple Plan is strongly connected to Scooby-Doo, having performed the theme song to What's New, Scooby-Doo? (written by Rich Dickerson), and appeared as themselves in the episode "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman". Two of the band's songs appeared in chase scenes: "I'd Do Anything" in the episode "It's Mean, It's Green, It's the Mystery Machine", and "You Don't Mean Anything" in "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman". Also, the band have contributed to the theatrical films (including an original song, "Don't Wanna Think About You", for Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed), as well as the direct-to-DVD film Alpha and Omega: The Legend of the Saw Tooth Cave (with their single "This Song Saved My Life").
The Sender is a 1982 horror film directed by Roger Christian and written by Thomas Baum.
A young man (Zeljko Ivanek, in his motion-picture debut) is admitted to a state mental hospital after he attempts suicide at a public beach by filling the pockets of his clothes with rocks and walking into the water in hopes that he will drown. As he shows no signs of being able to remember even his own name, the doctors call him John Doe #83.
Soon after his arrival, Dr. Gail Farmer (Kathryn Harrold) is assigned to him. But before long, she begins seeing and hearing things around her that have no explanation. Soon she begins to make the terrifying connection the things she has been seeing and hearing have to her amnesiac patient.

APTV Nashville Correspondent Philip Obenschain recently got to know New Found Glory a little better with a quick "10 Things You Didn't Know" session. The guys tell us about their side-projects, who's the "worst musician" in the band, their unlikely little league and cheerleading roots, the fact that Quentin Tarantino actually acknowledges that vocalist Jordan Pundik looks like him and more! Also: Did you know NFG are nominated for Artist Of The Year and Best Drummer at the APMAs?! Not only that, but they're performing with a special guest appearance from Hayley Williams! When New Found Glory and Yellowcard announced that they’d be hitting the road together for a 2015 Fall Tour, fans went insane and it’s easy to see why. Both paving the path for many pop-punk acts today, listeners have been waiting for this North American pairing to happen for longer than a decade. While in Toronto to play The Danforth Music Hall, AMBY had the pleasure of sitting down with NFG frontman Jordan Pundik to discuss reworking songs, creating Vicious Love with Hayley Williams, awful tattoos, and a music video created out of bands jamming out.
