Built in 1929, the Calumet is seen here downbound the Detroit River on 14 November 2007, what would prove to be her final voyage as she hit a wall in Cleveland bringing an early end to her many years of service on the lakes. The Calumet received a set of Leslie Tyfon air horns during her repowering in the 1960s. She often would sound her low pitched Leslie 425 which was located on the Starboard side of the smoke stack. This is the horn she uses on this day.

Arriving in Manhattan the following year, he became an in-demand session musician during the early 1920s. In 1925, he found fame as the director for NBC's Clicquot Club Eskimo Orchestra, continuing with that weekly half-hour until 1935. At the same time, he also led other bands using pseudonyms. "Harry Reser and His Six Jumping Jacks," with vocals by Tom Stacks, were the zany forerunners to comedy bands like Spike Jones and His City Slickers. Harry Reser played "Tiger Rag" and "You Hit the Spot" in the Vitaphone musical short Harry Reser and His Eskimos (1936). L'idea di collegare il fondovalle con la vetta del Monte Figogna e il Santuario circolava già da molti decenni ed era la logica conseguenza della necessità di migliorare le condizioni di trasporto dei numerosi pellegrini che allora raggiungevano la meta a piedi oa dorso di muli lungo i tortuosi sentieri esistenti. Nel primo dopoguerra il collegamento per il Santuario tornò ad essere di attualità e nel dicembre del 1924 nasce la Società Anonima Ferrovia Santuario della Guardia con un progetto che si rifaceva ad uno nuovo sistema chiamato autoguidovia inventato da Alberto Laviosa che univa la trazione su gomma alla guida su rotaia. Tecnicamente l'autoguidovia era costituita da vetture con motore a benzina, con gomme piene che rotolavano su un basamento con due cordoli in calcestruzzo, larghi 25 cm., con delle rotaie che fungevano da guide. Giunte a termine corsa le vetture venivano girate a mano su apposite piattaforme. I convogli erano solitamente composti dalla sola automotrice con 18 posti a sedere e 40 in piedi alla quale potevano essere aggiunte fino a due rimorchi che avevano 40 posti a sedere e che venivano utilizzate solo durante i periodi di grande affluenza. Richard Wagstaff[ "Dick" Clark (born November 30, 1929) is an American businessman; game-show host; and radio and television personality. He served as chairman and chief executive officer of Dick Clark Productions, which he has sold part of in recent years. Clark is best known for hosting long-running television shows such as American Bandstand, five versions of the game show Pyramid, and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Clark has long been known for his departing catchphrase, "For now, Dick Clark...so long," delivered with a military salute, and for his youthful appearance, earning the moniker "America's Oldest Teenager", until he had a stroke in late 2004. With some speech ability still impaired, Clark returned to his New Year's Rockin' Eve show on December 31, 2005/January 1, 2006.
