Attack of the Show! (AOTS) is an American live television program shown weeknights on G4, G4 Canada^[1] and Fuel TV in Australia.^[2] The program is hosted by Candace Bailey, and Sara Underwood. Attack of the Show! reviews new technological items, parodies, pop culture, and general daily news, and gives previews of video games, movies, and digital media.

The show premiered on March 28, 2005 as a replacement for The Screen Savers. The show originally aired live five days a week; the week of January 2, 2006, the show was truncated to air for only four days a week. Fridays featured a "Mash Up" that compiled segments from t.he week's four live shows. The show returned to live shows five days a week in September 2008, but G4 announced as of March 2, 2009, Attack of the Show! would go to four days a week with a "best of" show running in the Friday time-slot. Attack of the Show! aired its 1,000th episode on July 9, 2009.^[3] Attack of the Show! upgraded to High Definition on April 5, 2010 to coincide with its first ever "Epic April" event of new premieres and stunts. Along with the addition of Candace Bailey, on January 11, 2011 Attack of the Show "respawned" with new graphics and a new set.^[4]

Host Kevin Rose left the G4 Network and AOTS on May 22, 2005. The show announced a search for a new host among the show's audience, and for several months various candidates auditioned on the air. In the end none of the candidates were actually selected, although this was never actually announced on the air. Sarah Lane, who had previously been a co-host and segment contributor, gradually became the show's official host alongside Kevin Pereira. She continued in this capacity until April 6, 2006, when she and Brendan Moran announced their engagement and stated that they would be leaving the show.^[5] The Morans appeared on the show, via satellite, on July 13, 2006, to talk about their adventures.

Olivia Munn was hired to replace Lane and began hosting with Kevin Pereira on Monday, April 10, 2006. Zach Selwyn, the runner up on ESPN's Dream Job, was hired to replace Moran and started his hosting duties a week later on April 17, 2006. Munn said at the 2010 Comic Con that she would not be leaving AOTS, though she only occasionally appeared on the show for the rest of that year. She was still featured in the opening credits and other AOTS set pieces and transitions until December 6, 2010.

After the departure of Munn, AOTS featured several guest co-hosts including: Candace Bailey, Jessica Chobot, Alison Haislip, Carrie Keagan, Alessandra Torresani, Sara Underwood, and Morgan Webb. Bailey became the new co-host with Pereira on January 11, 2011.^[6]

AOTS has also featured Chris Hardwick, Chris Gore, and Blair Herter in the occasional absence of Kevin Pereira. In addition to the interim cohosts, Grace Helbig has also filled in for Candace Bailey.

On May 9th, 2012, Kevin Pereira announced during Attack Of The Show that he is officially leaving AOTS to pursue work in television production. As he stated; “I plan to turn my attention to full-time with my production company Super Creative and live touring nerd-carnival leetUP," His last day on AOTS was May 31st. ^[7]

Taryn Southern (born July 16, 1986) is an American singer, actress and comedian. She was part of American Idol season three's Top 50. Southern gained national attention with her video Hot4Hill during the 2008 Presidential race. She later went on to star in and executive produce DirecTV's first original series, Project My World.

Early life[link]

Southern grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and landed her first starring role in a pre-broadway theatrical production at the age of 10.^[2] As a teenager, she co-hosted a regional talk show for WB Kansas that addressed controversial teen issues like sex and drugs. She graduated from Wichita East High School in 2003.^[3]

At the age of 20, Southern graduated two years early from the University of Miami, earning both a B.S. in Anthropology and a B.A. in Journalism. While in school she received a grant to travel to Peru to study the shamanic use of ayahuasca among rainforest communities.

In 2004, at 17, she appeared on third season of American Idol, making it to Hollywood week and the Top 50.^[4]

After graduating from college, Taryn worked briefly at NBC and Morgan Stanley in Miami before moving to Los Angeles in 2006. She sold and produced a travel show, Project MyWorld, for DirecTV, which followed her and her two friends as they traveled the world and met their MySpace friends.^[5]

On July 2, 2007, she released a comedic YouTube video called Hott4Hill in support of the presidential campaign of U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton. The video, which she wrote and performed, shows her singing and dancing in a jokingly suggestive manner about her personal admiration of Clinton and how much she would like to see Clinton win the election.^[6] That same year, Southern starred in the first WB online series, Sorority Forever, alongside best friend and LonelyGirl15 star, Jessica Rose. ^[7]

In November 2008, Southern and Jessica Rose, launched Webutantes, a new media studio.^[8] Also in 2008, Southern wrote/produced her first comedic musical web series, Private High Musical, which was released across various media platforms, and later sold to MTV as a half-hour comedy pilot, with David Zuckerman (Family Guy) as co-writer/executive producer. ^[9]

In 2010, she had a recurring role in the 5th season of the CBS comedy series Rules of Engagement, as well as a part in the movie Battle: Los Angeles as a reporter.

Also in 2010, she released the first video, "Keep it in Your Pants," from her upcoming comedy album on YouTube. The song reached #20 on the iTunes comedy chart.^[10] Southern released a variety of other music videos on her YouTube Channel, TarynSouthern.

In the fall of 2011, Taryn hosted the pre-show for the US version of The X Factor.^[11] She also provided voice over for the character Judy on the Fred animated series on Youtube.

Eric Montgomery Andrews (born 1933) is an Australian historian, academic and author. He was born in London and gained his first degree at Oxford University. He did his PhD at the Australian National University and since 1967 has taught history at the University of Newcastle.

Christopher Patrick "Chris" Gore^[1] is a speaker and writer on the topic of independent film.^[2]

Gore was born September 5, 1965 in Big Rapids, Michigan.^[3] He is the main writer and the founder of Film Threat,^[3] a project dedicated to covering independent and underground movies which he started in 1985.^[4] He was also the editor in chief of Videogames Magazine from 1993-1995.^[5] During this time, he also made his first television appearances on the Jones Computer Network, the network television precursor to ZDTV, as an editorialist and commentator on the state of video games and society.

He appears on the G4 television program Attack of the Show.^[6] Previously, he did a film-related segment on a the weekly FX series, The X Show, and was the host and moderator of The New Movie Show with Chris Gore, also on FX, in 2000, where a panel mixed between critics and celebrity guests reviewed movies. G4 then based a recurring gag in an August 2010 episode of Attack of the Show on the murder of Chris Gore, bringing up three potential murderers each furthering the idea that his movies are horrible and that everyone wanted to kill him. ^[7]

Gore attended Kimball High School in Royal Oak, Michigan (now renamed Royal Oak High School after the closing of Dondero High School).^[8]

Gore co-wrote and produced the film My Big Fat Independent Movie, a parody of other indie films.^[3][9]

His books include The 50 Greatest Movies Never Made,^[10] The Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide^[11] and The Complete DVD Book: Designing, Producing and Marketing Your Independent Film on DVD.^[12] Gore also created the defunct Wild Cartoon Kingdom magazine^[4] and co-created Sci-Fi Universe magazine.

In 2009 Gore signed on to host a reality talk show called Hollywood on the Rocks produced by Mini Movie Channel and distributed by Ovation TV.^[13]

In 2011 Gore announced live on Attack of the Show! that he started a podcast called PodCRASH with That Chris Gore.

On the May 14th 2012 episode of Attack Of The Show it was revealed that Chris Gore has two children, a daughter and a son. Gore currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Gore
