Introduction to Political Philosophy (PLSC 114) Hobbes' most famous metaphor, that of "the state of nature," is explained. It can be understood as the condition of human life in the absence of authority or anyone to impose rules, laws, and order. The concept of the individual is also discussed on Hobbesian terms, according to which the fundamental characteristics of the human beings are the capacity to exercise will and the ability to choose. Okay, so it's sovereign states. Close enough. This video also helpfully shows the capital cities and flags for each sovereign stae, and a little explanation at the end. Here's every sovereign state in Europe; including the likes of Greenland, Liechenstein and Kosovo. I uploaded this because no other videos showed ALL the 'countries'... The boundary I have used is: "...under the commonly used definition, the border stretches along the Ural Mountains, Ural River, and Caspian Sea in the east, the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea with its outlets, Bosporus and Dardanelles in the south.Based on that division, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkey have territory both in Europe and Asia." How long have people been living on Earth? The evolutionist says millions of years. Bible believing Christians generally say only about 6000 years. But the answer to this question is amazingly simple. If we start with only two people, and they have four children who live to have their own children, the second generation now has twice as many people -- four. Now, allowing for infant mortality and other human problems that keep population down, we still find that on the average it only takes about 130 years to double the Earth's population. This figure fits into known historical records. And if anything, it's a conservative number. If human history is 2 million years, as the evolutionists say, the Earth ought to have a lot more people than it does now. Alternatively, if we accept the 2 million years, then it must have taken 125000 years to double the population in order to finish with today's world population. But that doesn't make any sense at all, especially since human historical records show that the doubling time is about 1000 times less! Grace and Mommy Mess-Ups
A mommy was out walking with her 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. The cautious Mom took the item away from her and asked her not to do that.
"Why?" her daughter asked.
"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs"
Her daughter looked up at her Mom with total admiration and asked, "Mommy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."
The Mom quickly replied: "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy."
They walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, and the little girl seemed deep in thought.
"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."
"Exactly" the mommy replied back with a big smile on my face.
Actually, there is no test to become a Mom, but even brief rundown of some of the job descriptions of a Mom are overwhelming:
Dentist, Taxi driver, Doctor/Surgeon (stuffed animals), Lawyer, Policewoman, Coroner- (for pets), Coach, Teacher, Cook (apple jacks)/Chef (macaroni and cheese), Laundress, Dishwasher, Maid, Nurse - until we get our MD which happens after kid #2, Personal dresser, Personal shopper, Personal assistant, Secretary, Rocking chair, Singer, Artist, Diaper changer, Seamstress, Groomer, Cheerleader, Plumber, Counselor, Tissue (Mom's clothes work better) Food taster, Tickler and Pudding lid licker.
With all these responsibilities, is it any wonder that Mom's mess up from time to time? Sometimes Mom's flunk the Mommy Test!
Lydia and I were in Archie last year playing golf at Blackberry Trails. We were on the fourth hole when we get a frantic call from our fifth child, Lindsey. She was headed out to the garage to go shopping with our 8th grandchild, Laila. Laila was just seven months old. She had her in her seat that snaps into the pedestal in the car. She forgot to get something, so she sets the seat on the counter top, and goes up to her bedroom. She hears a horrid sounding "crash" and Laila lets out this blood-curdling scream. She runs downstairs to see Laila lying face down on their hard tile flor, with the baby-seat on top of her. She picks her up and sees a huge bruise and knot forming on her forehead.
When Lydia got the call, she was frantic as well. She immediately left and met Lindsey at the hospital.
Lindsey had one of those Mommy Mess-Up moments. She just didn't think that a seven month old could wiggle and kick that much. Lindsey had her first experience with "mommy guilt', but praise God, Laila was fine. It seems that God designed little babies with "mess-up's" in mind. Their little head bones are still forming and can take an accidental fall very well.
An important aspect of being a Mom is learning how to deal with "Mommy Mess-up's!

The only way we can win is for mass awareness to understand that all of these measures of interoperability are sold on totally fradulent premises, via extremely well crafted propaganda and government Problem-Reaction-Solution fearmongering--that of staged cyber attacks, via deliberately INSECURE systems, and other false flag attacks (called Effects Based Operations (EBO) or Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW)--where their solutions, for our "safety", or being "necessary to survive in the economic crisis" (never mind that the same globalists behind Unisys engineered it) are a total forfeiture of liberty, & independence, an anathema to free humanity. We must facilitate, and cultivate incentive to resist all of this insanity and force constitutional government and sovereignty to take precedence, and remove this wickedly engineered evil, i.e. their full spectrum dominance, and put that dominance back to the sovereign individual where the government serves the People, and no shadow government is ever allowed to usurp the inalienable rights of mankind.

RECALIBRATE your heart toward Christlikeness.
Has your Christian life become bland? Do you need to realign your life to meet God’s standard? We all wrestle with questions of creation, culture and faith. It is often hard to distinguish between a genuine knowledge of God’s Word and the comforts that come from a familiar way of life. Recalibrate, 2011’s Give Me An Answer collegiate conference, will help you discover the truths of the Scriptures and share how to apply these truths to every element of your life.
Theology is the study of the nature of God - who he is and how he thinks and acts - but, honestly, theology isn’t often high on our daily lists of concerns. Most people today think mainly of themselves, but theology matters and what we know about God shapes the way we think and live. To be blunt, if we get theology wrong, then our whole life will be out of sync. Recalibrate, will host speakers from around the country that will challenge collegiate students to focus on true theology and strive to live a life of humble obedience.

Dr Nicholas Beecroft is interviewed by Melanie Mortiboys on the purpose of the following series of interviews on the Future of Western Civilisation.
I’m Dr Nicholas Beecroft, a Consultant Psychiatrist in London. I’m exploring the Future of Western Civilisation through a series of interviews. I want us to rejuvenate our energy, direction and self-confidence as a civilisation. My mission is to create a positive, appreciative space in which leaders at the evolutionary edge of our civilisation can share their experience and set out their vision for our future to inspire others. They are visionaries sewing the seeds of future transformation, all genuine, creative, courageous people who really care about who we are and where we’re going.
By “civilisation”, I mean Western Civilisation- the one I’ve lived in; to one that’s transformed the world over the last 500 years; the one that’s gone global; the one that faces enormous threats, challenges and has the unprecedented opportunity to evolve to a really amazing future. When there’s so much changing all at once, old structures failing and a huge array of emerging threats, that all generates a lot of anxiety, pessimism and fear which distract us from putting energy into creating new solutions, generating new ideas and envisioning a better future.
Behind the News Headlines, usually quietly, under the radar, there’s a lot of good stuff going on; the seeds of the future taking root in the present. There are lots of evolutionaries trying out new ideas, new technologies, new ways of organising and more integrated, conscious & balanced ways of thinking and being.
Western Civilisation has been supremely successful in all kinds of ways of which we should be enormously proud. Science, technology, industrialisation, democracy, individual rights, personal freedom, property rights, the rule of law, Christianity, humanism, organisation, capitalism, feminism, civil rights, philosophy, music, art, even Imperialism have all, on balance, transformed the world for the better and have created new life conditions with new challenges and problems. In some cases, these advances had nasty side effects and some have become imbalanced. In others, they have replaced older structures and beliefs and many babies have been lost with the bathwater.
Human civilisation is made up of human beings who are conscious beings and physical animals, all interconnected like a shoal of fish or a flock of birds. I’ve interviewed a huge range of people across a variety roles, professions, beliefs, politics, status, nationalities, religions, social classes and backgrounds. What is crystal clear to me is that whilst the world we live in is hyper-complex, we operate in it using a kind of mini-map of our civilisation in our minds which we used to navigate through the world, guided by our inner compass of intuition and rational thought. It is astonishing how similar these inner maps are and the patterns are clear. This is how we self-organise in what is a complex living system- just like a bee hive or wildebeest migration.
Now we are super-connected by the internet, media and travel. We carry in our pockets access to billions of people and to just about all the knowledge that ever existed. Turning inwards we have access to to our instinctive intuition, heart, wisdom, common sense and judgement. Put together, that represents vast human potential and the most amazing opportunity for personal and cultural evolution ever. Looked at like that, just about all of our shared challenges and threats are solvable and a much better world is highly realistic. We’re engaged in conscious evolution of ourselves and our civilisation.
There are a huge range of threats and challenges to The West and to the whole World. People focus their attention on different ones depending on their situation, beliefs and emotional make-up. The list is pretty depressing and overwhelming- so I’ve turned it into a list of positive questions instead. Here’s a start:
Who are we?
Where are we going?
What kind of future do we envisage?
How do we rise to the challenges we face?
What do we believe; what is right, what is wrong, what is true, what is false?
What do we value and desire?
What do we love about our civilisation?
What works really well?
What’s worth preserving & defending?
How can we be confidently patriotic, open, diverse and global at the same time?
How do we restore a healthy authority in ourselves, our roles and institutions?
How can we have authority which is fair, accountable, evidence-based and respectful of complexity?
How can be apply science effectively to complex systems like the mind, consciousness, society without oversimplification?
how do we get sustainable, secure, clean energy?
How do we renew the welfare state to be fair to taxpayers and empowering to recipients?
How do we balance individual rights with group responsibilities?
