Ruabon (Welsh: Rhiwabon pronounced [r̥ɪʊˈɑːbɔn]) is a village and community in the county borough of Wrexham in Wales. The name "Rhiwabon" comes from "Rhiw Fabon", "Rhiw" being the Welsh word for "hill" and "Fabon" being a mutation from St Mabon, the original church name, of earlier, Celtic origin (see Mabon)." An older English spelling, Rhuabon, can sometimes be seen.
In 2001, more than 80% of the population of 2,400 were born in Wales with 13.6% having some ability in Welsh.
There is evidence that a settlement existed in Ruabon in the Bronze Age. In 1898, building works in the centre of Ruabon exposed a cist or stone urn containing cremated human remains dating from 2000 years BC. In 1917, the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow were discovered on the playing fields of Ruabon Grammar School; they contained human remains, a flint arrowhead and a bronze axe.

Dr Beeching considered the long line from Ruabon to Barmouth along the Dee valley to be surplus to requirements and its complete closure was scheduled for 18th January 1965. In the autumn of its days the ex-LMS Ivatt class 2 2-6-0 moguls were the reular motive power and we await the arrival of 46512 at Ruabon station before boarding its train and taking a journey along the double-tracked section of this route down to Llangollen, the part of the line passing through Trevor which many supporters of today's Llangollen Railway hope can one day be restored to make a connection with the national rail network once again. Ruabon will never have such complex trackwork again though! Subscribe at www.unseensteam.co.uk to see the full archive of vintage steam footage! - www.facebook.com/unseensteam ...

Places to see in ( Barmouth - UK ) Barmouth is a town in the county of Gwynedd, north-western Wales, lying on the estuary of the River Mawddach and Cardigan Bay. Located in the Historic county of Merionethshire, the Welsh form of the name is derived from "Aber" (estuary) and the river's name, "Mawddach". The town is served by Barmouth railway station. Barmouth grew around the shipbuilding industry, and more recently as a seaside resort. Notable buildings include the mediaeval Tŷ Gwyn tower house, the 19th century Tŷ Crwn roundhouse prison and St John's Church. William Wordsworth, a visitor to Barmouth in the 19th century, described it thus: "With a fine sea view in front, the mountains behind, the glorious estuary running eight miles [13 km] inland, and Cadair Idris within compass of a d...
We continue with regular trains on the great (and windy) Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash near Plymouth. Sadly the Great Britain II was heavily delayed, so we only could catch it entering Plymouth station with 34067 "Tangmere" - SR Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 (instead of 5029 "Nunney Castle" which should have been running) and 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" - BR Britannia Class 7P 4-6-2 in charge. Via CrossCountry HST to Birmingham the overnight stop was Shrewsbury where in the morning two loco hauled passenger trains are almost meeting: Wrexham & Shropshire with class 67 and the Arriva Wales service Holyhead - Cardiff pulled by a class 57. The rest of the morning was spent on the scenic Llangollen museum railway at Llangollen and Glyndyfrdwy where 6430 - GWR class 6400 0-6-0PT did its duties, th...
Places to see in ( Dolgellau - UK ) Dolgellau is a market town in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, lying on the River Wnion, a tributary of the River Mawddach. Dolgellau is traditionally the county town of the historic county of Merionethshire, which lost its administrative status when Gwynedd was created in 1974. Dolgellau is the main base for climbers of Cader Idris. Today, the economy of Dolgellau relies chiefly on tourism, although agriculture still plays a role; a farmers' market is held in the town centre on the third Sunday of every month. It is believed that Dolgellau Cricket Club, founded in 1869 by Frederick Temple, is one of the oldest cricket clubs in Wales. The surrounding area is known for its wild but beautiful countryside and places of historical interest. It is popular with t...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Always been told that I've got too much pride
Too independent to have you by my side
But my heart said all of you will see
Just won't live for someone until he'll live for me
Never thought I would find love so sweet
Never thought I would meet someone like you
Well now I've found you and I'll tell you no lie
This love I've got for you could take me 'round the world
Now show me love
Show me love, show me life
Baby show me what it's all about
You're the one that I ever needed
Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Don't waste this love, I wanna give it to you
Tell me what you got, show me what you can do
Show me love, show me everything
I know you've got potential
So baby let me in and show me love
Show me love, show me life
(Alright)
Baby show me what it's all about
You're the only one that I ever needed
(Show me love)
Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Show me love
(Love show me)
Show me life
(Show me life)
Baby show me what it's all about
(And what it's all about)
You're the one that I ever needed
Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Show me love baby
Show me everything you've got and show me life
Show me love baby
Show me everything and what it's all about
You're the one, the only one I ever needed
Show me love and what it's all about, alright
I'll love you, I'll miss you
I'll make sure everything will be alright
I'll give you my heart if you just give me love
Every day and every night
Show me love
(Yeah, yeah)
Show me life
(Show me life)
Baby show me what it's all about
(And what it's all about)
You're the one that I ever needed
(Show me love)
Show me love and what it's all about, alright
Show me love
Show me life
