Obama to Starship: You didn't build that city, somebody else made that happen
(Mark Steyn) On the evidence of last week's Republican campaign events, President Obama's instant classic -- "You didn't build that" -- is to Mitt Romney what that radioactive arachnid is to Spider-Man: It got under his skin, and, in an instant, the geeky stiff was transformed into a muscular Captain Capitalism swinging through the streets and deftly squirting his webbing all over Community-Organizerman. Rattled by the reborn Romney, the Obama campaign launched an attack on Romney's attack on Obama's attack on American business. First they showed Romney quoting Obama: "He said, 'If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.'" And then the Obama team moved in for the kill: "The only problem? That's not what he said." Indeed. What Obama actually said was: "If you've got a business, you, you didn't build that. [Interjection by fawning supporters: "Yeeaaaaah!"] "Somebody else made that happen." Since the president is widely agreed to be "the smartest guy ever to become president" (Michael Beschloss, presidential historian), the problem can't be "what he said" but that you dummies aren't smart enough to get the point he was trying to make. According to Slate's David Weigel, the "you didn't build that" bit referred back to something he'd said earlier in the speech -- "somebody invested in roads and bridges." You didn't build those, did you? Or maybe he was referring back to "this unbelievable American system we have that allowed you to thrive ...

So now is he a secret Catholic? Newt Gingrich calls Obama the "most radical president in American history." The Qatari diplomat who caused the airplane kerfuffle is getting sent home. Oh, so that must make it OK. Remember that South Korean naval vessel that sank? Its sailors say a blast from outside the ship was to blame. Two Nevada Republicans call for Sen. Nike Chosen Series - 03 Italy Kronplatz
With a foot of fresh snow falling over night, the expert F-Tech shaper crew pulled out the stops to make Kronplatz, Italy, proud with an immaculate kicker for the 3rd stop of the Nike Chosen Series.
From the off, local brothers Daniel (Back 7 Melon to shifty) and Oliver Reichegger (Front Rodeo 5 Stiffy) took the event by the reins, laying down a huge variety of spins and double grabs which saw them sail into the finals.
Joining them in the 10-man cut was Alex Reiner (Front 7 double tail) and David Mahlknecht (Front 10 Melon).
With a judging format that looks for a variety or tricks and spins each way in favour of single bangers, the finals saw the biggest variation of double grabs so far on the 9-stop tour. Daniel Reichegger was consistent throughout using the kicker and the bonk feature in equal measure giving the judges a stoke with a floated miller flip, classic stylish Cab 5s, a maverick back 5 double nose grab and a backside 9 nose grab - the award for MVP (most valuable player) was never in doubt.

Herman Cain CEO and Godfather Pizza
Herman Cain, who won the Florida Republican presidential straw poll over the weekend, is no newbie when it comes to showing up career politicians. Texas Gov. Rick Perry was just the latest one to be Hermanized by the former Godfather's pizza company executive. In 1994, President Bill Clinton had an encounter with Cain in which many conservatives believe the Man from mozzarella got the better of the Man from Hope. The video of the encounter is worth watching and not just as a walk down memory lane, a golden era when the economy was creating jobs by the millions and before the threat of federal government shutdowns. Clinton was pitching his ill-fated health care plan at a town hall-style meeting in Kansas City when Cain, who was leaving the pizza store chain to head up the National Restaurant Association, told the president that his proposed overhaul would wind up costing his company significantly more than the president's figures suggested. This began a respectful and lively disagreement in which each man showed his ability to think on his feet with neither giving an inch. Clinton said his health proposal would result in only a small increase to Godfather's payroll costs which could be easily passed on to customers. Cain told the president he was wrong, explaining that because only a third of his workers got health insurance largely because the company couldn't afford paying any more, the costs would be far larger. And that it wasn't so easy for a company like his that ...
