Waterville USA, or simply known as Waterville, is a 20-acre (81,000 m2) water and amusement park located a quarter-mile from the Gulf of Mexico in the city of Gulf Shores, Alabama, on Gulf Shores Parkway (Alabama State Route 59). The park opened in 1986, and since then has added numerous water and amusement attractions for all ages to enjoy. The Current Park President is Joseph "Joe" Warrington .
The water park is the original section of the park. All of the original slides and attractions have been removed or replaced, except for the wave pool and lazy river attractions.
Over the years, Waterville has had to remove and replace attractions due to hurricane damage and the datedness of the attraction. In 2013, two slides named were removed to make room for a new slide. In September 2004, the eye of Hurricane Ivan passed directly over Gulf Shores and the surrounding areas. Due to the park's close proximity to the coastline, Waterville was severely flooded by storm surges, and experienced damaging winds that severely damaged two of the water park's attractions. Repairs went on during 2005 and 2006, and the park fully reopened in 2007 with new replacement attractions.
Gulf Shores is a coastal city in Baldwin County, Alabama, United States. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 9,741, up from 5,044 at the 2000 census. Since the year 2000, Baldwin County as a whole has experienced rapid population growth, second only to Shelby County in Alabama.
Gulf Shores is located on the Gulf of Mexico at 30°16'4.069" North, 87°42'5.285" West (30.267797, −87.701468). It is the southernmost settlement in the state of Alabama. It is served by Alabama State Route 59 (Gulf Shores Parkway), which leads north to Foley. Route 182 (Beach Boulevard) runs east-west along the shore front, while Route 180 (Fort Morgan Road) runs parallel to it, north of Little Lagoon. Gulf State Park occupies a large eastern part of the city.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 28.0 square miles (72.5 km2), of which 23.2 square miles (60.0 km2) is land and 4.8 square miles (12.5 km2), or 17.24%, is water.
The location of Gulf Shores on the northern coast of the Gulf of Mexico makes it vulnerable to hurricanes. In September 1979, Hurricane Frederic leveled most of the town. In September 2004, Hurricane Ivan caused extensive wind and flooding damage. In 2005, while the city was still cleaning up from Ivan, Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage and flooding.
Cannonball Run may refer to:
A gold rush is an interval of feverish migration of workers to an area that has had a dramatic discovery of gold deposits. Major gold rushes took place in the 19th century in Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada, South Africa, and the United States, while smaller gold rushes took place elsewhere.
There were six major gold rushes. The permanent wealth that resulted was distributed widely because of reduced migration costs and low barriers to entry. While gold mining itself was unprofitable for most diggers and mine owners, some people made large fortunes, and the merchants and transportation facilities made large profits. The resulting increase in the world's gold supply stimulated global trade and investment. Historians have written extensively about the migration, trade, colonization, and environmental history associated with gold rushes.
Gold rushes were typically marked by a general buoyant feeling of a "free for all" in income mobility, in which any single individual might become abundantly wealthy almost instantly, as expressed in the California Dream.

http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com I hate to say, "Not very much," but there isn't; at least not off-season. Waterville is a picturesque little village overlooking stunning Ballinskelligs Bay, known for the best Salmon & Sea Trout Angling in Europe and two championship golf courses, but most tourists come during the summer to enjoy the beach and relax. Waterville has friendly Bars, Cafés, Restaurants, a lovely promenade along the sea, and much accommodation which ranges from B&Bs; to deluxe Butler Arms Hotel, chosen for their home away from home by celebrities. Steve and I had intended to eat at Dooley's across the street from Klondyke House B&B; but since it was closed, took hostess Cirean's recommendation and popped into An Corcan for a sandwich and their award winning soda bread. And wha...

Something's going down like a waterfall
Some strong feeling's some old love
I saw you and it made no sense at all
Now I feel like there's too much caffeine in my blood
Like a waterfall goin' down
Like a waterfall washing me down
Spinnin' me around
Lord, and I'm drownin'
Like a waterfall going down
Just like a waterfall washing me down
Like a waterfall going down and down and down
You're an old lover making new contact
Making those cold defenses melt
And though lying in your arms is after the fact
Once again I'm feeling like I've never felt
it's like a waterfall going down
Like a waterfall washing me down
Spinnin'me round
Lord, and I'm drowning
Like a waterfall going down
Just like a waterfall washing me down
