Cinéma pur
Cinéma Pur (French for Pure Cinema) was an avant-garde film movement begun by filmmakers, like René Clair, who "wanted to return the medium to its elemental origins" of "vision and movement."
History
The term was first coined by Henri Chomette. The goal of the movement was to create a cinema that focused on the pure elements of film like motion, visual composition, and rhythm. It was begun by European filmmakers René Clair, Fernand Léger, Hans Richter, Viking Eggeling and others. They sought to accomplish their goal by minimizing story and plot, focusing instead on visual concerns by using close-ups, dolly shots, montage, lens distortions, and other cinematic techniques. Films like Ballet Mécanique, Symphony Diagonale, and The Symphony of a Great City projected rhythm and motion in the title of the films and the works themselves. In addition to close-ups, other filmmaking techniques were used to create rhythm and visual interest. They include fast and slow motion, trick shots, stop-action cinematography and dynamic cutting.

B. Lenin born as Bhimsingh Lenin is an Indian film editor, writer and director who works in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films. The son of Tamil filmmaker A. Bhimsingh, Lenin entered the film industry as an assistant editor and worked on numerous projects before debuting as an independent editor with Mahendran's Uthiripookkal (1979). In the mid-1980s, Lenin started jointly working with his long-time assistant V. T. Vijayan and the duo has so far edited over a hundred films. As of 2017, Lenin has won five National Film Awards, including Best Direction and Best Editing awards. He was the chairman of the Film Federation of India of India in 2011.

Pavel Navageethan is an Indian actor and filmmaker who works in Tamil cinema. His dream was to be a director, so he wrote scripts for films but could not get producers.[2][3] He then moved to acting debuting under his friend, Pa. Ranjith's Madras, where he played a henchman named Viji. His role in the film earned him the name Madras Viji.[1] Pavel Navageethan later played roles in several other films (including Kuttram Kadithal, Magalir Mattum, Vada Chennai, and Peranbu) before turning director.[1][3][4] He made his directorial debut with a mystery thriller V1, after the editor was able to get a producer for the film.

Cinéma pur
Cinéma Pur (French for Pure Cinema) was an avant-garde film movement begun by filmmakers, like René Clair, who "wanted to return the medium to its elemental origins" of "vision and movement."
History
The term was first coined by Henri Chomette. The goal of the movement was to create a cinema that focused on the pure elements of film like motion, visual composition, and rhythm. It was begun by European filmmakers René Clair, Fernand Léger, Hans Richter, Viking Eggeling and others. They sought to accomplish their goal by minimizing story and plot, focusing instead on visual concerns by using close-ups, dolly shots, montage, lens distortions, and other cinematic techniques. Films like Ballet Mécanique, Symphony Diagonale, and The Symphony of a Great City projected rhythm and motion in the title of the films and the works themselves. In addition to close-ups, other filmmaking techniques were used to create rhythm and visual interest. They include fast and slow motion, trick shots, stop-action cinematography and dynamic cutting.
