DEATH MARCH OF BATAAN ( BRUTALITY & ATROCITIES)
The film shows re-enactment scenes based on eye-witness accounts of the brutality and atrocities that the enemy inflicted on American and Filipino troops during the Death March and later at Camp O'Donnell and Camp Cabanatuan. The men on Bataan were forgotten by their leaders, in other words, they were expendable. Because of its horror contents, it was rejected by networks in the US and Japan. AVAILABLE NOW ON DVD at Amazon.com, from Director Rainer Loeser.

Battling Bastards of Bataan
(Now available for download: www.cdbaby.com Original song, Battling Bastards of Bataan. Video includes original pictures from the Battle of Bataan, the Bataan Death March and POW camps afterward. Illustrations are by Ben Steele (survivor). The Battle of Bataan was one of the first battles of WWII for the US, and while the poorly-equipped troops defended the Philippines valiantly and delayed the progress of the Japanese for four months, they eventually surrendered and were forced to endure the march across the Bataan peninsula. The chorus of this song is from the poem written by Frank Hewlett in 1942, a reporter who was flown out before the surrender. "We're the Battling Bastards of Bataan, no mama, no papa no Uncle Sam... ...and nobody gives a damn".

Filipinos remember the Bataan Death March
Araw ng Kagitingan (English:"Day of Valour") is a national holiday in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan during World War II. At dawn on April 9, 1942 against the orders of Generals Douglas MacArthur and Jonathan Wainwright, Major General Edward P. King, Jr., commanding Luzon Force, Bataan, Philippine Islands, surrendered more than 76000 (67000 Filipinos, 1000 Chinese Filipinos, and 11796 Americans) starving and disease-ridden men. The majority of the prisoners of war were immediately robbed of their keepsakes and belongings and subsequently forced to endure a 90-mile (140 km) march in deep dust over vehicle-broken macadam roads and crammed into rail cars to captivity at Camp O'Donnell. En route, thousands died from dehydration, heat prostration, untreated wounds, and wanton execution. Those few who were lucky enough to travel on trucks to San Fernando would still have to endure more than 25 additional miles of marching. Prisoners were beaten randomly and often denied promised food and water. Those who fell behind were usually executed or left to die; the sides of the roads became littered with dead bodies and those moaning for assistance. On the Bataan Death March, approximately 54000 of the 76000 prisoners reached their destination. The death toll of the march is difficult to assess because thousands of captives were able to escape from their guards. All told, approximately 5000-10000 Filipino and 600-650 American prisoners of war died before they ...

The Bataan Death March
For the United States, World War II started on December 7th, 1941 with a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. What many don't realize that the Japanese launched simultaneous attacks around the Pacific in near unison. The Philippines, a territory of the United States since 1898, were under the command of General Douglas MacArthur. He was tasked with preparing the islands should Japan attack. As much as he did, Japanese forces quickly overran defenses and US and Filipino armies retreated to the Bataan Peninsula. Here, the combined might of the US and Filipino armies held off the Imperial forces of Japan until April 1942. Once General King surrendered, those that remained alive were forced to march more than 100km in what is known as the Bataan Death March. My Great Uncle was stationed here prior to World War II and survived the march. Join me in this special QiRanger Adventure as Jo and I travel to Bataan. We start off at Mariveles, the sight of the first of two 00km Death March markers and make our way through the peninsula all the way to Tarlac and Camp O'Donnell. -= WEB SITES =- Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com Blog: qiranger.com The Travel Channel youtube.com The Vlog Channel: youtube.com Podcast: itunes.apple.com Music, fully licensed.

WORLD WAR 2 BATAAN DEATH MARCH - PART 1
Go to: www.worldwar2treasure.com if you are interested in high adventure and want to participate in recovering World War 2 treasure. Massive looting as an extension of war is nothing new. The Japanese were serious, sober, and deliberate when they methodically and systematically looted thirteen Asian Countries during World War 2. They took treasure including precious diamonds and other gems, gold bullion, and solid gold Buddha's out of every hiding place. Much of this treasure did not make it back to Japan due to a World War 2 naval blockade of the Philippine islands by the United States, and has been recovered recently in underground hiding places. Widespread and systematic looting took place during World War 2 throughout Europe and Asia. For details, go to: www.worldwar2treasure.com
