Advanced Recycling Plant to Be Built in Cardiff

The first combined heat and power, or CHP, waste to energy facility in Wales is currently being built near Cardiff. The project is a joint venture between Cardiff Council and the waste management company Viridor. Lagan Construction is handling the building work on a 4.5 hectare site in Trident Park, with engineering specialists CNIM providing technical expertise. The 50 million project is scheduled to be completed in early 2014, and will start to recycle waste the following year.

Heat Wave: Climate Change in the United Kingdom?

Everyone is concerned about climate change. Could it happen in the United Kingdom? Some scientists think it can.

In 2002 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a report called UKCIP02. It predicted that by the 2080′s the annual average temperature will rise between 2 and 3.5 degrees C.
