Tristan /ˈtrɪstən/ (Latin/Brythonic: Drustanus; Welsh: Drystan, Trystan; also known as Tristran, Tristram /ˈtrɪstrəm/, etc.) is one of the main characters of the Tristan and Iseult story, a Cornish hero and one of the Knights of the Round Table featuring in the Matter of Britain. He is the son of Blancheflor and Rivalen (in later versions Isabelle and Meliodas), and the nephew of King Mark of Cornwall, sent to fetch Iseult back from Ireland to wed the king. However, he and Iseult accidentally consume a love potion while en route and fall helplessly in love. The pair undergo numerous trials that test their secret affair.
Tristan makes his first medieval appearance in the early twelfth century in Celtic folklore circulating in the north of France, and Brittany in particular, which had close ancestral and cultural links with Cornwall by way of the ancient British kingdom of Dumnonia, as made clear in the story itself. Although the oldest stories concerning Tristan are lost, some of the derivatives still exist. Most early versions fall into one of two branches, the "courtly" branch represented in the retellings of the Anglo-Norman poet Thomas of Britain and his German successor Gottfried von Strassburg, and the "common" branch, including the works of the French poet Béroul and the German poet Eilhart von Oberge.

Akira Kamiya
Akira Kamiya (神谷明, Kamiya Akira^?, born September 18, 1946 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokohama) is a Japanese voice actor. He has been represented by Theater Echo, Aoni Production, and others. He is currently represented by Saeba Shoji.
Kamiya made his debut on Mahou no Mako-chan in 1970 while working for Theater Echo. He went on to have a regular role on Akaki Chi no Eleven as Sasuke Yatsume and later co-starred with Kei Tomiyama in Fushigi na Merumo.
In 1973 he played the title character in Babel II, and then went on to play the lead role in many Super Robot anime, such as Nagare Ryou in Getter Robo, Akira Hibiki in Yuusha Raideen, Jimmy Orion in Mechander Robo, and Takuma Ichimonji in Wakusei Danguard Ace. Because of his tendency to shout dramatically, he earned the nickname Sakebi no Kamiya (叫びの神谷^?, Screaming Kamiya).
Kamiya has also played many playboy lady-killer types, including pretty-boy pitcher Satoru Satonaka in Dokaben, Godai's tennis-coach rival Shun Mitaka in Maison Ikkoku, and rich and arrogant characters such as Shinnosuke Kazamatsuri in Yawara! and Mendou Shuutaro in Urusei Yatsura. (When Urusei Yatsura creator Rumiko Takahashi's later work Ranma 1/2 was adapted to anime, Takahashi had Kamiya in mind for the role of another rich and arrogant playboy character, Tatewaki Kuno, but the directors chose Hirotaka Suzuoki for the role instead.) In addition to this he has also played goofier roles, like Tosaka-senpai in Kyuukyoku Choujin R and Nyarome in Mouretsu Atarou. Until 2009, he was playing the lazy, washed-up private detective Kogoro Mori in the long running Detective Conan anime.

Daisuke Gōri (郷里大輔, Gōri Daisuke^?, February 8, 1952 – January 17, 2010) was a Japanese voice actor, narrator and actor from Kōtō, Tokyo. According to fellow voice actors, Gōri was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus a few years prior to his death and his vision was affected by retinal detachment as a result of the disease. He complained to coworkers, "I can't read the scripts. I can't do my job like I'd like to." (台本が読めない. 思うように仕事ができない., Daihon ga yome nai. Omou yōni shigoto ga deki nai.^?) During an Anpanman recording session in late 2009, a depressed-sounding Gōri told his close friend voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue, "I've grown old."

Like his Canadian counterpart Peter Cullen, Tesshō reprised the role of Optimus Prime (Convoy) in the Japanese dub of the 2007 Transformers movie. He is best known as the Japanese voice of Batman in Numerous Animated television series and animated films. Like his American counterpart Kevin Conroy, Tesshō also reprised the role of Batman in the Japanese dub of Batman: Gotham Knight. He also voices Kratos in the Japanese versions of the God of War series.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (円卓の騎士物語燃えろアーサー, Entaku no Kishi Monogatari Moero Āsā^?, lit. Story of the Knights of the Round Table: Blazing Arthur) is a Japanese anime series based on the Arthurian legend. Produced by Toei Animation, it consisted of 30 half-hour episodes released between September 9, 1979 and March 3, 1980. The series achieved more widespread popularity in its non-English translations.

When Prince Arthur was a baby and his father King Uther ruled Camelot, Lavik, another king who wishes to conquer Camelot, attacked the castle. Arthur is saved by Merlin who sent him to another knight to keep Arthur in a safe place. For many years this knight brought Arthur up as his own son.

At the age of 15 Arthur attended to a tournament with his stepfather. There he could pull the sword Excalibur from a stone. This action proved that Arthur is the legitimate king of England. Finally Arthur's stepfather revealed him his royal lineage.

Since then King Arthur and some subjects began to fight against the wicked King Lavik, who is helped by a witch called Medessa.

Similarities and differences between the series and the legend [link]

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table retold the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. It featured Arthurian characters such as Lancelot, Guinevere, Tristan, Percival, Merlin, Uther, and Igraine, and other familiar items like Camelot and Excalibur.

On the other hand the series are not faithfully adjusted to the original narration of the legend. For example new characters and stories are added and the plot became softer.

In the early 1980s a French dubbed version was released through Jacques Censtrier Productions. Titled "Le Roi Arthur", only the first 4 episodes were released onto VHS. All of the characters names remained the same, however the opening and closing theme songs were still aired and played in their original Japanese music scores.

Isao Sasaki and Koorogi '73 sang the opening theme Kibou yo sore wa; while Ou no Naka no Ou, the ending theme, is performed by Mitsuko Horie and Koorogi '73.

The series was adapted into several comicizations (the principle of basing a manga on a previously existing TV series, instead of the more widespread reverse procedure) published in Telebi Magazine (テレビマガジン), Terebi Land (テレビランド) and Bouken-Oh (冒険王). The Bouken-Oh (冒険王) adaptation was created by Satomi Mikuriya (御厨さと美) and "Mic Mac Production"^[1]
