Jason Patric (born June 17, 1966) is an American film, television and stage actor. He is known for his roles in the films The Lost Boys, Sleepers, Your Friends & Neighbors, Narc, The Losers and Speed 2: Cruise Control. His father was actor/playwright Jason Miller. Patric is the maternal grandson of Jackie Gleason.

Early life[link]

Patric was born as John Anthony Miller, Jr.^{[citation needed]} in Queens, New York. He is the son of Academy Award-nominated actor and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Jason Miller (born John Anthony Miller; 1939–2001), and Linda Mae Gleason, daughter of actor/comedian Jackie Gleason.^[1] His half-brother is actor Joshua John Miller. His ancestry is mostly Irish, with some German.

Growing up in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, he attended the all-boys Salesian Roman Catholic Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey, and Saint Monica Catholic High School in Santa Monica, California.^[1] He appeared in high school productions of Dracula and Grease.

After graduation, he was cast in the television drama Toughlove. The following year, Patric was cast in Solarbabies alongside Peter DeLuise, Jami Gertz, Lukas Haas, James LeGros and Adrian Pasdar. Within a few years, Patric would reunite with Gertz and Dern in The Lost Boys and After Dark, My Sweet, respectively. He co-starred with George Dzundza and Stephen Baldwin in The Beast.

In 1993, he starred alongside Wes Studi and Matt Damon as 1st Lt. Charles B. Gatewood in the movie Geronimo: An American Legend.^[2]

His scenes in The Thin Red Line were cut before the film's release. He appeared in the Alec Baldwin film The Devil and Daniel Webster, which was shot in 2001, and released in late 2007 as Shortcut to Happiness, but turned down the lead role in The Firm (1993), which went to Tom Cruise. Patric garnered excellent reviews for his performance as an undercover narcotics officer in Narc (2002).

In 2005, Patric appeared on Broadway as "Brick" in a revival of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, opposite starred Ashley Judd, Ned Beatty and Margo Martindale.^[3]

He next appeared on Broadway opposite Brian Cox, Chris Noth, Kiefer Sutherland and Jim Gaffigan in a revival of his Father Jason Miller's play, That Championship Season, which began previews on February 9, 2011 and closed on May 29, 2011.^[4] The play (written by Jason Miller) first debuted in 1972, and won, among other awards, the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award.

Patric began dating actress Julia Roberts days after she canceled her wedding to Kiefer Sutherland in June 1991.^[5] They dated for two years, after which he dated his Rush co-star Jennifer Jason Leigh from 1993-94, then supermodel Christy Turlington (from 1994–2000). As of March 2012 Patric is married and has one child born in 2010.

Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland^[1] (born 21 December 1966) is a British-Canadian actor, producer and director. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jack Bauer on the Fox series 24 for which he won an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Satellite Awards. He currently stars as Martin Bohm in the Fox drama Touch.

Sutherland was born in London, the son of Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, both of whom are successful Canadian actors.^[2] He has Scottish ancestry from both parents, and is the grandson of Canadian politician Tommy Douglas, widely credited for bringing universal health care to Canada.

He received his first given name from Warren Kiefer, the Italian director who gave his father his first movie role.^[3][4]

His family moved to Corona, California and in 1970, his parents divorced.^[2] In 1975, Sutherland moved with his mother to Toronto. He attended elementary school at Crescent Town Elementary School, St. Clair Junior High East York, and John G. Althouse Middle School in Toronto. He attended five different high schools including St. Andrew's College, Martingrove Collegiate Institute, Harbord Collegiate Institute, Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, Malvern Collegiate Institute and Annex Village Campus. He also spent a semester at Regina Mundi Catholic College in London (Ontario) and attended weekend acting lessons at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School.

Sutherland reported on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (2009) that he and Robert Downey, Jr. were room-mates for three years when he first moved to Hollywood to pursue his career in acting.^{[citation needed]}

Stand by Me was the first film Sutherland made in the United States.^[5] He played the neighborhood bully in this coming of age story about the search for a dead body. Sutherland has appeared in more than 70 films, most notably The Lost Boys,The Bay Boy Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, A Few Good Men, Flatliners, Young Guns, The Vanishing, The Three Musketeers, Eye for an Eye, Dark City, A Time To Kill, and The Sentinel.

The actor is also a frequent collaborator with director Joel Schumacher, and has appeared in The Lost Boys, Flatliners, Phone Booth and the big screen adaptation of A Time to Kill, in which he appeared onscreen with his father Donald for the first time in his career.

In 2005, Sutherland was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame in Toronto,^[6] where both of his parents have also been inducted. In 2009, he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.^[7] Sutherland was the first Inside the Actors Studio guest to be the child of a former guest; his father, Donald, appeared on the show in 1998.^[2] Sutherland was featured on the cover of the April 2006 edition of Rolling Stone, in an article entitled "Alone in the Dark with Kiefer Sutherland." The article began with Sutherland revealing his interest to be killed off in 24. However, he stated, "Don't get me wrong. I love what I do." He has starred in Japanese commercials for CalorieMate, performing a parody of his Jack Bauer character.^{[citation needed]} Sutherland also provides voice-overs for the current ad campaign for the Ford Motor Company of Canada.^[9] In mid-2006, he voiced the Apple, Inc. advertisement announcing the inclusion of Intel chips in their Macintosh computer line.^[10] He also voices the introduction to NHL games on the Versus network in the U.S.^{[citation needed]} He has appeared in a Brazilian TV commercials for Citroën C4 sedan^[11] and a voice-over for a commercial for Bank of America.^[12] He voiced Sgt. Roebuck in Treyarch's video game Call of Duty: World at War and Lars Alexandersson in Street Fighter X Tekken.

Sutherland is currently a celebrity producer of The 1 Second Film. In 2011, he made his Broadway debut, opposite Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth and Jason Patric in the Broadway revival of That Championship Season, which opened in March 2011. The show has since closed. Sutherland is currently starring in the new Fox television series Touch. Sutherland plays the father of an autistic boy who does not like to be touched, while the son also communicates future humanity interrelated events to his father through numbers and mathematics.^[13][14]

Since 2001, Sutherland has been associated most widely with the role of Jack Bauer, on the critically acclaimed television series 24.^[2] After being nominated four times for the "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series" Primetime Emmy Award, Sutherland won the award in 2006 for his role in 24's fifth season. In the opening skit of the 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards, Sutherland made an appearance as his 24 character, Jack Bauer. He was also nominated for Best actor in a Drama Television Series in the 2007 Golden Globe Awards for 24. According to his 2006 contract, his salary of $40 million for three seasons of the show made him the highest-earning actor on television.^[15] Sutherland constantly emphasizes that the show is merely "entertainment."^[16] The Dean of the United States Military Academy, Brigadier General Patrick Finnegan, visited the set of 24 in February 2007 to urge the show's makers to reduce the number of torture scenes^[17] and Sutherland accepted an invitation from the U.S. military to tell West Point cadets that it is wrong to torture prisoners.^[18] In an interview with OK! Magazine, Howard Gordon says that it would be an "unbearable loss" if they killed off Sutherland's character.^[19] In an interview with Charlie Rose on January 12, 2007, Sutherland made clear statements of his opposition to torture, specifically that, "...it is widely known that you can torture someone and they'll basically tell you exactly what you want to hear, whether it's true or not, if you put someone in enough pain. Torture is not a way of procuring information. The way of procuring information is in fact quite the opposite, and unfortunately that takes a lot of time." (see minute 19:00) ^[20] In another interview on November 20, 2008, Rose asked Sutherland, "You'd shut down Guantanamo tomorrow, would you not?" Sutherland's reply, "Me personally? Absolutely. And unless you can charge those detainees, I'd let them go too. The Constitution makes that really clear." (see minute 18:30) ^[21]

On 24 March 2009, Sutherland reported to the Associated Press that he will be back for an 8th season.^[22]

On 14 February 2010, Fox TV announced they were temporarily suspending production of Season 8 of 24 due to a ruptured cyst near one of Sutherland's kidneys. According to the report, he waited a few days before going in to have "elective surgery" performed.^[23] It was anticipated that he would return after a week, but a further few days was needed and Fox reported that his return to set would be 1 March.^[24]

On 26 March 2010, it was announced that 24 would end at the conclusion of the 8th season, paving the way for the 24 feature film to go into production. Production was anticipated to begin at the beginning of 2011.^[25]

Several episodes of 24 have allegedly been rewritten to work around minor injuries Sutherland sustained when partying. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, Sutherland said, "I can't deny half the stuff that's been written about me has been true. I've done some stupid things. You have to take responsibility, go, 'That was embarrassing,' and move forward as best you can."^[26]

Sutherland has a twin sister, Rachel Sutherland, who is a TV post-production supervisor in Toronto.

Sutherland has one daughter, Sarah Jude, born 18 February 1988, from his first marriage to Camelia Kath, the widow of Chicago guitarist/singer Terry Kath, to whom he was married from 12 September 1987—1990. Through his marriage to Camelia, he became stepfather to Michelle Kath^{[citation needed]}. As of March 2012 at 45 he is a grandfather of two; his stepdaughter Michelle married in 2004 and has sons Hammish (2005) and Quinn (2010)^[27][28]

Julia Roberts met Sutherland in 1990, when he was her co-star in Flatliners. In August 1990, Roberts and Sutherland announced their engagement, with an elaborate studio-planned wedding scheduled for 14 June 1991. Roberts broke the engagement three days before the wedding allegedly because Sutherland had been meeting with a stripper named Amanda Rice. Sutherland denied having an affair with Rice and said that they only met because he liked to play pool. On the day of what was supposed to be their wedding date, Roberts ran off to Europe with Sutherland's friend Jason Patric.^[29]

On 29 June 1996, Sutherland married Kelly Winn. The couple separated in 1999. He filed for divorce in 2004. The divorce was finalized on 16 May 2008.^{[citation needed]} He had two stepsons from this marriage: Julian and Timothy.^{[citation needed]}

Sutherland is a guitar collector, the majority of which are Gibson Les Pauls. Recently, the Gibson Custom shop has released a guitar (signed by Sutherland), the KS-336, as part of their 'Inspired By' series.^[30] When Queen appeared on VH1 in 2006 for the Rock Honors Event, Sutherland gave Queen's introduction and announced that they are his favorite band, and that he has listened to them ever since he was a child.^{[citation needed]}

Sutherland is an American football fan, particularly of USC Trojans football, and recorded a birthday message for former USC head coach Pete Carroll's 56th birthday.^[31] After losing a bet to friend Dave Andreychuk over the 2010 New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens playoff game, Sutherland was forced to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman wearing a dress.^[32] He is also a NASCAR fan. He narrated the IMAX film NASCAR: The IMAX Experience. Additionally, his character Jack Bauer in 24 has used the name of team owner Jack Roush as an alias.

Additionally, Sutherland paints. One of his paintings served as the cover art for the twelfth edition of the Live X acoustic compilation series released by the American alternative rock radio station WNNX.^[33]

In the late 1990s, Sutherland, inspired^{[citation needed]} by the experience in his films Young Guns, The Cowboy Way, and Cowboy Up, retired from acting briefly to pursue the rodeo circuit. He purchased a 900-acre (3.6 km²) ranch in Montana, and travelled on the road with the rodeo, he participated in numerous roping contests, two of which he won in Phoenix and Albuquerque.^{[citation needed]}

Sutherland was arrested early on 25 September 2007, on drunk driving charges, his second time since another incident in 2004, after performing poorly on a field sobriety test. His test exceeded the state's legal blood alcohol limit, and he was later released on a $25,000 bail. Sutherland pleaded no contest to the DUI charge and was sentenced to 48 days in jail.^[34] Initially, he arranged to split his sentence and spend 18 days in jail during 24's winter break in late December and early January 2008; the Hollywood writers' strike interrupted production, allowing him to serve his sentence in 48 consecutive days.^{[citation needed]}

Sutherland surrendered to NYPD on 7 May 2009 for head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough, founder and co-designer of Proenza Schouler, at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo following a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.^[35][36] Several weeks later, Sutherland and McCollough issued a joint statement in which Sutherland apologized; Police later dropped the charges.^[37]

Sutherland is the co-owner (along with Jude Cole) of the independent record label Ironworks.

Sutherland had reportedly fallen victim to a financial scam involving cattle in 2010.^[38] The perpetrator, Michael Wayne Carr, allegedly took US $869,000 from Sutherland, ostensibly on the account of steers to be purchased, according to The AP. Prosecutors alleged that Carr never purchased the steers. Carr pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay US $956,000 in restitution to Sutherland and his investment partner.^[39]

Christopher David "Chris" Noth (born November 13, 1954) is an American actor. He is known for long-running television roles as Det. Mike Logan on the police procedural and legal drama television series, Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and as Big on Sex and the City. For the latter role, he has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award. As of 2012, he is a star of the CBS drama series The Good Wife, for which he was also nominated for a Golden Globe.

Early life[link]

Noth was born in Madison, Wisconsin, the youngest of three sons of Jeanne L. Parr, a former CBS news reporter, and Charles James Noth, an attorney^[1] and insurance salesman.^[2][3] He has German and Irish ancestry.^[4] Noth's father died in 1966. During his childhood, Noth traveled with his mother and brothers throughout the United Kingdom, Spain and Yugoslavia.^[5]

Noth spent a part of his undergraduate years at Marlboro College in Vermont,^[6] where he built himself a log cabin.^[7] He earned an MFA from Yale School of Drama where he acted in some 25 plays and was a pupil of acting coach Sanford Meisner.^[5]

Career[link]

Noth played small parts in films, including Smithereens (1982) and Baby Boom (1987) before his first starring role in the low-budget 1988 film Jakarta. On television, Noth joined the cast of Hill Street Blues in the sixth season in 1986, where he was billed as "Christopher Noth." He also appeared in Another World. In 1988, he filmed a pilot for the legal/police drama series Law & Order. In 1990, NBC began airing the show, which slowly gained recognition from critics and fans.^[8] Noth was fired from the show in 1995.^[9] Personality differences between Noth and L&O creator/executive producer Dick Wolf settled down long enough to film a TV movie, Exiled: A Law & Order Movie (1998).

In 1998 Noth returned to prime-time television when he took the role of Carrie Bradshaw's enigmatic on-again, off-again boyfriend "Big" on HBO's Sex and the City.^[8] He played the role for six years, during which he also appeared in a small role as Helen Hunt's husband in the hit film Cast Away (2000) and starred in a Broadway revival of The Best Man. In 2001, he played an FBI agent on a three-episode arc of Crossing Jordan, re-uniting him with Law & Order co-star Jill Hennessy. In 2005, Noth returned to the role of Mike Logan on Law & Order: Criminal Intent, joining the show in its fifth season following a guest appearance on a fourth-season episode.^[8] On this spin-off of the original Law & Order, Noth's detective team alternated episodes with Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe's characters. On June 26, 2008, it was announced that Noth was leaving the series, and that Jeff Goldblum would be joining the cast.^[10]

Noth reprised the role of Big for the Sex and the City film, released on May 30, 2008.^[11] and its 2010 sequel. Noth stars with Julianna Margulies in the CBS series The Good Wife, which debuted on September 22, 2009. Also in 2009, Noth became the spokesperson for the North American market for the Biotherm line of male skin-care products.^[12]

Noth starred in the Broadway revival of the play That Championship Season, playing Phil Romano, a role originated by his one-time Law & Order co-star Paul Sorvino.^[13]

With Steve Walter, a former student of Berklee College of Music, Noth is co-owner of The Cutting Room, a music venue in New York City that opened in late 1999.^{[14][15][16][17]} Noth met his wife Tara Lynn Wilson while she was working at The Cutting Room, and their son, Orion Christopher Noth, was born in January 2008.^[18][19] He married Wilson on April 6, 2012.^[20] He also owned the semi-private club The Plumm with Template:Noel Ashman, David Wells, Damon Dash, Ann Dexter-Jones, Joey McIntyre, and Bo Dietl.^[21][22]

Noth and his spouse Tara Wilson own "Once Upon A Tea Cup", a tea-party themed restaurant franchise with branches in Windsor, Ontario, and London, Ontario.^[23]

Helena Christensen (born December 25, 1968) is a Danish fashion model, (former) Victoria's Secret Angel, beauty queen, and photographer. She has also served as creative director for Nylon magazine, designed clothing, and supported funding for breast cancer organizations and other charities.

Early life[link]

Christensen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her father is Danish, and her mother is Peruvian.^[2][3]

Miss Denmark[link]

Christensen won the Miss Denmark crown in 1986^[4][5] and represented Denmark in Miss Universe 1986.^[6] She left her home soon afterwards to pursue modeling in Paris.^[7]

Modeling career[link]

Christensen appeared on many magazine covers (including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, W) and in fashion campaigns (including Revlon, Chanel, Versace, Lanvin, Prada, Sonia Rykiel, Hermes, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld) during the 1990s. One noted campaign featured her in a 20 by 40 feet (6 by 12 m) billboard in Times Square, bare, "except for a strategically placed banana leaf."^[8] She was in the Victoria's Secret catalog and in their television commercials as one of the signature Angels, along with Tyra Banks, Karen Mulder, Daniela Pestova, and Stephanie Seymour. She also became a spokesmodel for Revlon cosmetics.^{[citation needed]}

In 1991, she starred in the music video for Chris Isaak's song "Wicked Game."^[9] The video was later featured on MTV's "Sexiest Video of All-Time", voted #4 on VH1's "50 Sexiest Video Moments", and voted #13 on VH1's "100 Greatest Videos".

Christensen continues modelling; recently she graced the covers of Spanish Vogue, British Harper’s Bazaar and ELLE, and American Vs. Magazine. She was also featured in the advertising campaigns of Ermanno Screvino, Reebok, Caractere and Triumph. Christensen is signed to Unsigned Management in London, Marylin in Paris, D Management in Milan and 1/One Management in New York City.^[9]

Christensen was creative director of Nylon magazine at its 1999 founding by publisher Marvin Scott Jarrett.^{[10][11][12][13]} She launched her own clothing line, Christensen & Sigersen, with life-long friend Leif Sigersen. The pair previously ran Butik, a shop in New York's West Village.^[14][15] Christensen has sold some of her vintage clothes line in her mother's store, the Yo-Yo Second Hand Shop, in Christianshavn, Copenhagen, Denmark.^[16][17] Christensen famously once said, when asked if normal girls would feel comfortable in her new clothing line, "I don't care. I have no clue. I don't think about anyone but me." The quote is printed on the back of Denis Leary's 2008 book, Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid.^[18]

Christensen is a photographer whose work has appeared in Nylon,^[11] Marie Claire, and ELLE.^[9] Her exhibition "A Quiet Story", curated by Jim Cook, premiered in at the Locus Gallery in Rotterdam, 2006,^[19] and HotelArena in Amsterdam, 2007.^[20] Her exhibition "Far From, Close" appeared at Dactyl Foundation in 2008/09, to benefit International Center of Photography educational programs and Chernobyl Children's Project International.^[21][22]

Breast cancer fundraising[link]

Christensen launched the second Fashion Targets Breast Cancer campaign which involves the sale of exclusive designer t-shirts to raise millions for Ireland's Action Breast Cancer (Irish Cancer Society) and Europa Donna Ireland to help younger women with breast cancer.^[23][24]

Personal life[link]

Christensen lived with INXS frontman Michael Hutchence on and off in France and Denmark for a period of five years in the early 1990s.^[25] She was married to actor Norman Reedus for five years, together they have a son named Mingus Lucien Reedus (born October 13, 1999).^[26] Reedus and Christensen split in 2003.^[27][28] While maintaining careers in photography and clothing design, Christensen says of her son, "He's all that matters," she says. "He's my best friend."^[29]

Christensen was heading to actor Heath Ledger's New York apartment on the day that he died, calling Ledger, only to get his voicemail.^[30]

Christensen has an apartment in Copenhagen and lives in Manhattan, where she drives "the only type of car I've ever had", a Morris Minor.^[31][32] She reported in 2007 that she would be giving up her place in Monaco.^[33]

Christensen has claimed on several occasions to be a cheese addict.^[33][34][35]
