Argyll & Earl Double Headed - Live Steam Garden Railways
I know it is an unlikely combination, but here is my recently repainted Roundhouse Argyll (Campbelltown & Machrihanish Light railway) and Roy Wood's Accucraft Earl (Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway) hauling mixed goods (including some L&B;) on the Holtwood Light Railway. I think that these two locos go rather well together and the control was easy, as the Earl's regulator was just cracked open and Roy drove Argyll. Of course, either loco would have hauled the whole train, but I do like double heading. And I have become rather a fan of black locos too!

Sea Kayaking Scotland - Around Seil Island - Argyll.
Well it wasn't my idea.............I was on my way to Anglesey, and got up with a blinding headache, so put it off. Matt phones, and says we're meeting up in Scotland, are you in? So, what could I say? I have a reputation to keep up, of course I will, the fact that I can't really afford it, is by the by. Then the Gods intervened again, and I got some money that I was owed, literally an hour before I left. So I hit the road, North to Glasgow, then as the song said... the the low road by the bonny, bonny banks of Loch Lomond, and got me head down in a lay by there (They didn't tell you that bit in the song did they?) North again to Oban, and a cooked breakfast, then South to Easdale, and the tiny, pretty Port Village of Ellanbeich. The view here is superb, overlooking the Firth of Lorn and its splendid medley of Islands,
