A leg is a weight bearing and locomotive structure, usually having a columnar shape. During locomotion, legs function as "extensible struts"[1] - the combination of movements at all joints can be modeled as a single, linear element capable of changing length and rotating about an omnidirectional "hip" joint.
As an anatomical animal structure it is used for locomotion. The distal end is often modified to distribute force (such as a foot). Most animals have an even number of legs.
As a component of furniture it is used for the economy of materials needed to provide the support for the useful surface, the table top or chair seat.

Many taxa are characterized by the number of legs:
In tetrapod anatomy, leg is used to refer to the entire limb. In human medicine its precise definition refers[2][3][4] only to the segment between the knee and the ankle. This segment is also called the shank,[5][6] and the front (anterior) of the segment is called the shin or pretibia.
In bipedal tetrapods, the two lower limbs are referred to as the "legs" and the two upper limbs as "arms" or "wings" as the case may be.

Jackson began his career at Tottenham Hotspur in 1999, signing professional terms in 2000; however he rarely broke into the first-team, scoring once in the league in a 4–2 win at Charlton Athletic in February 2004.[1]
During his time at White Hart Lane he spent many seasons on loan at various lower league clubs, such as Swindon Town where he scored twice, once in the league against Northampton Town,[2] and once in the Football League Trophy against Southend United.[3] He also went on loan to Colchester United, whom he would later join on a permanent basis. Jackson earned admiration while on loan at Coventry City when he scored the last-minute winning goal against local rivals West Bromwich Albion.[4]
In the summer of 2006 he was released by Tottenham. He was soon signed for free by Colchester, who were recently promoted to the Championship, and whom he had played for on loan in 2003. He scored his first goal for the club in February 2007, when Colchester lost 2–1 against West Brom. In the 2007/2008 season Johnnie won the clubs Player of the year award. During the 2008–09 season with Colchester United, Jackson did not play as many games as he first hoped with a back injury that was aggravated during the 1–1 draw against Milton Keynes Dons.
On 17 August 2009, Jackson signed for Notts County. He scored his first goal for Notts County in the 3–0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge on 22 August 2009.[5] His second County goal came in the FA Cup against Bradford City on 7 November 2009.[6]
On 18 February 2010 Jackson signed for Charlton Athletic on a one month loan to cover at left back following an injury to Grant Basey.[7]
He joined Charlton permanently in July 2010 and was named the N Power league 1 player of the month for November that year. He was named club captain for the 2011-2012 season. In the same season he scored scored 13 goals, two coming from freekicks in crucial 1-0 wins against both Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United. He played prominently in the left midfield position.

Ace Ventura is a fictional character, created by screenwriters Jack Bernstein, Tom Shadyac and Steve Oedekerk. Ace was played by Jim Carrey in the films (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, released in 1994, and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, released in 1995.) He was voiced by Michael Daingerfield (credited as Michael Hall) in the animated television series.

Ace is a Miami-based private detective specializing in the retrieval of missing animals, said to be the son of Ron Ventura and descendant of such as "Ernest Ventura Shackleton" and "Jacques Ventura Costeau". It is not known whether the animated television series was contiguous with the feature-films; but if it was it may take place before them because the only one of his pets to appear in the series is his capuchin monkey, Spike. During the second film, Ace attempts monasticism after a failed rescue attempt of a raccoon; only to be called out of retirement to investigate a missing sacred animal. By the events portrayed in Ace Ventura, Jr. it is established that Ace has disappeared somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle, and never appears in the film itself.[1]

Bernstein had wanted to do a comedic version of Sherlock Holmes, and when watching the Stupid Pet Tricks segment on Late Night With David Letterman, got the idea for a pet detective.[citation needed]
Ace Ventura is an eccentric self-styled 'pet detective' who forsook regular police work to concentrate on this latter pursuit. Like other fictional detectives, he is notable for extraordinary powers of observation and deduction; and on at least one occasion, he has managed to escape being shot by catching a bullet in his teeth.
Ventura's eccentricities include his persistent vulgarity and exceedingly flamboyant behaviour; but he is nevertheless a dedicated detective, driven by an insatiable adoration of animals and a desire to protect them from human mistreatment. In Ace Ventura Jr: Pet Detective, it is implied that his abilities, personality, and appearance are hereditary. Although Ace is an animal lover, the second film reveals a deep-seated chiroptophobia.
In most appearances, Ace usually wears an unbuttoned Aloha shirt over a plain white A-shirt, with red and black striped trousers and black combat boots. He lives in an apartment alongside many different animals, all of whom hide from his landlord, Mr. Schickadance, in his absence.
In the episodes "The Aceman Cometh/Have Mask, Will Travel" of The Mask: The animated series, when Milo, the pet dog of Stanley Ipkiss, was stolen by Dr. Pretorius, Ipkiss calls Ace for help. Both Ipkiss/the Mask and Ace Ventura were the animated versions of characters portrayed by Jim Carrey himself. Ace later accidentally wears the mask on his rump, which assumes a face similar to his own and gains the ability to speak, suggesting a joke featured in the original film of speaking while presenting his rump to the listener and moving it in semblance of a speaking mouth.
Ace was ranked the 60th Greatest Movie Character in a November, 2008 list by Empire Magazine.[2] Cyborg Franky from Japanese anime and manga One Piece is based on the character.[citation needed]

Greg Plitt has modeled for Under Armour, Old Navy Jeans, Calvin Klein, Modell's and Skimpies, among others, and has done covers and/or editorials for Maxim, AXL, American Health & Fitness, Flaunt, Men's Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, Men's Health, FitnessRx for Men, Instinct Magazine, and Men's Exercise, among others.
Plitt is a global spokesperson/model for Thierry Mugler's Angel Men and ICE*Men men's fragrances. He has done TV commercials for Old Spice Body Wash, ESPN's Great Outdoor Games, Under Armour, MTV, Zoli Sinks, Gold's Gym Power Flex, Bowflex and has lately taken acting roles. Images of his body were used to create Dr. Manhattan's muscular physique in the 2009 film Watchmen.[2]
He has also appeared in several movies and television shows (see below).
Plitt comes from a family of four, and has an older sister who attended the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.[1] Plitt is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York,[1] Class of 2000, and is both Airborne and Ranger qualified.
Plitt says he has been a fitness buff since his dad bought a home gym when Plitt was in sixth grade; he was further inspired after seeing how his older sister changed after her first year in the United States Naval Academy.[3] Plitt has described his work as a certified physical trainer to his work training military recruits:
"That transformation that you see when someone becomes a soldier," he says, "many of them come in with real bad attitudes. They’re tough guys on the street and nobody’s going to tell them what to do. Then one day, they’ll come to you crying, saying, ‘I need someone to talk to.’ All of sudden they start changing their ways and they become the men they always wanted to be. Then other soldiers start looking up to them as role models. Then they’re proud and they hold their heads high. That’s more gratifying than anything I’ve done. That’s what’s so cool about it — to be able to train somebody and transform them and bring out all of the great qualities that everyone possesses."[3]
