Syria: Several killed by Homs gas attack
www.euronews.com Activists in Homs claim Syrian government forces used poisonous gas on a rebel-held neighbourhood, killing several people on Monday. They say that more than 50 people in the district were exposed to the gas and many are in critical condition. They claim the gas used was Agent 15, which lists suffocation, nerve paralysis, temporary blindness, and hallucinations amongst its symptoms. This is yet to be confirmed. The attack comes a day after dozens of people were were reported dead following an air strike on a bakery in the town of Halfaya north of the central city of Hama. Videos uploaded by activists purported to show the aftermath of the attack, bloodstained bodies lying amid rubble and shrapnel. The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the number of dead at more than 60, although it said this number is expected to rise due to the number of people in critical condition. Activists claim around 44000 have been killed during the 21-month-conflict. Find us on: Youtube bit.ly Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter twitter.com

Syria: Russian presence poses challenge for US
Reports have emerged that Russian military advisers have been involved in operating some of Syria's more sophisticated air defences. Accroding to The Guardian, Moscow has sent personnel along with new surface-to-air systems to assist President of Bashar al-Assad as he battles a continuing rebel uprising in the Middle East state. Such involvement would pose a challenge to any US-led intervention, an idea that has been suggested in the past as a way of resolving the 21-month long crisis. A recent poll in the US by the Washington Post and ABC news suggested that the majority of Americans would support US intervention only if the Syrian government either used or lost control of their stockpile of chemical weapons — known to be among the world's largest. Western powers are under increasing pressure to act as the daily atrocities continue. Yesterday this graphic video was released of an air strike on a bakery in war-torn Hama province of Syria has killed dozens of people and wounded several others. At least a thousand people are believed to have been outside the building, trying to buy bread in the current food shortage when the rockets struck. According to activists' estimates, up to 200 people were killed, making it one of the deadliest attacks of the civil war. The UN and Arab League special envoy Lakhdar Brahimki has arrived in Syria to speak with President Assad over finding a peaceful solution to the civil war. The veteran Algerian diplomat has called for ceasefires in ...

Chemical Syria: 'Enemies of Allah will die like rabbits'
Syria's military is preparing to use chemical weapons against rebels, and is awaiting final orders from President Assad according to un-named US officials quoted in the American media. Washington says THAT would be all the reason it needs to intervene in the conflict. And as RT's Middle East correspondent Paula Slier reports, the timing of these unsubstantiated WMD revelations may not be coincidence. Also, RT talks to Dr. Ali Mohamad, the editor in chief of the Syria Tribune online magazine. voaspecialenglish.com | http From VOA Learning English, this is the Health Report in Special English. Syria's prime minister recently said his country will search for alternative markets to secure medicines. Medical drugs are in short supply because of the conflict between supporters and opponents of President Bashar al-Assad. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is trying to crush the revolt against his rule. The violence has raised an outcry in Western countries and some Arab states. The European Union and the United States have placed sanctions on the Syrian government as a result of the violence, but these sanctions are also having a negative effect. Medicine is in short supply. The prime minister has said his country will "go east" in search of new providers of medicine. Chossudovsky: West Attempts to Destabilize Syrian Government
Syrian security forces have clashed with foreign-sponsored insurgents in several areas of the northwestern city of Aleppo. Meanwhile, the Syrian state TV said the army has arrested a group of Turkish and Saudi officers in Aleppo. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told the Turkish Cumhuriyet daily in an interview in early July that Turkey "has supplied all logistic support to the terrorists who have killed our people." Many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil in Syria that began in March 2011. On August 5, US senators John McCain, Joseph Lieberman and Lindsey Graham said Washington should "directly and openly" provide assistance, including weapons, intelligence and training, to the insurgents in Syria. On June 21, the New York Times reported that a group of CIA officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey and that the agents are helping the anti-Syria governments decide which gangs inside the Arab country will receive arms to fight the Syrian government. Press TV has conducted an interview with Professor Michel Chossudovsky, Director of the Centre for Research on Globalization, to further discuss the issue. 'Rebels behind Houla massacre, US plan to destabilize Syria in full swing'
The Syrian government says the massacre of more than a hundred people in the Syrian town of Houla was the work of armed terrorist gangs. This, as the US Secretary of State admits military planning for action in Syria is already going ahead, but Moscow has vowed to block any moves for outside interference at the UN. Activist Sara Flounders talks to RT. She says Washington was never interested in a diplomatic solution in Syria. 'No chance of unity government in Syria'
Iraq's Foreign Minister is blaming al-Qaeda members for orchestrating the uprising against Syria's president. In a news briefing, he said militants from the terror network were flowing into Syria. Violence there is worsening, with over a hundred people killed in the last three days. Reports say fighting's intensifying in Homs, where troops are clashing with rebels. Paul Sheldon Foote, a Middle East expert from California State University, says he doesn't believe the coalition government is possible in Syria. NATO set to attack Syria?
The UK and the US have drafted new sanctions aimed at the Syrian Government during the UN Security Council discussions. Russia and China don't support the initiative created under the so-called Chapter #7, which implies foreign military intervention into the country - it will put pressure on the Syrian Government and make the situation worse, they argue. US analyst: Syria scud missiles 'a profound escalation'
Human Rights Watch has reported that the Syrian government has been using incendiary scud missiles against the opposition in the north of the country. The missiles contain highly flammable materials designed to cause severe burns. Speaking to Al Jazeera from Washington, Mark Perry, military and foreign affairs analyst, says the reports are "credible", but the use of the unmanned missiles is a "very desperate measure" by the forces of Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president. Perry, author of "Talking to Terrorists: Why America Must Engage with its Enemies", tells Al Jazeera's Tony Harris that the use of the missiles may be a sign that the Assad forces "are up against a wall" and running out of pilots or helicopters with which to fire back at the armed opposition. "If we want Assad overthrown, and we do, we're going to have to make the difficult choice of just saying 'let's do it'," he told Al Jazeera.

Evidence Points Toward US Backed False Flag Against Syria
The Syrian regime has written to the UN, warning that it believes the US may attempt to frame it by alleging that it has used chemical weapons on so called "rebels", as well as innocent civilians. "The US administration has consistently worked over the past year to launch a campaign of allegations on the possibility that Syria could use chemical weapons during the current crisis," a letter penned to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon by the Syrian Foreign Ministry states. The letter was one of a series sent to the UN head according to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency. "What raises concerns about this news circulated by the media is our serious fear that some of the countries backing terrorism and terrorists might provide the armed terrorist groups with chemical weapons and claim that it was the Syrian government that used the weapons," SANA quoted the letters as saying. The letters also stated that the Syrian government opposes the use of chemical weapons against anyone, including the rebels, and that such weapons have never been used by the Syrian government against civilians. www.infowars.com CHECK OUT [INFOWARS THE MAGAZINE] Buy it as a Gift or Order one for Yourself. www.infowarsshop.com ProPur Water Filtration Receive 15% off with promo code WATER15 - Good Until Dec 10th www.infowarsshop.com Alex Jones teams up with ProPur to provide you with the new gold standard of water filtration systems. Syrian opposition will not observe the truce: Webster Tarpley
Syria's General Command of Army has announced nationwide truce for Eid al-Adha holidays, though warning that it 'reserves the right' to respond if insurgents do not respect the ceasefire. The General Command said on Thursday it would also respond to "terrorist groups trying to reinforce their positions by arming themselves and getting reinforcements" as well as neighboring countries facilitating the smuggling of fighters across borders during that period. According to Syrian army sources, the truce will enter into effect on Friday morning and last until Monday. UN-Arab League Special Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi had earlier proposed the ceasefire between the Syrian government forces and the insurgents during the four-day Eid al-Adha holiday. The heads of the Arab League and the United Nations also issued a joint call to the parties involved in the unrest in Syria, urging them to observe the truce. The Syrian government had earlier announced that it would support the truce proposal only if the Western countries and their regional allies stopped supporting and financing the insurgents. Press TV has conducted an interview with Webster Griffin Tarpley, author and historian, to further discuss the issue.
