استاد ابراهیم پورداوود - Master Ebrahim Pourdavood
Ebrahim Poordavood (February 9, 1885 - November 17, 1968), was born in Rasht, Iran, to a mother who was the daughter of a clergyman and a father who was a reputable merchant and landlord. He is one of the most formidable scholars of Iran during the 20th century. Poordavood translated Avesta into Persian in six volumes. He made in addition many other significant contributions to the Iranian studies. During the War he established himself in Baghdad where he published the periodical Rastakhiz (Resurrection);[3] in total 25 issues of this periodical were published, publication lasting until March 1916. He left Baghdad for Berlin where he stayed until 1924. His studies in Germany led him to Zoroastrian history and teachings. After his return to Iran, in 1924 Poordavood founded the School of Ancient Languages where he initiated extensive research work concerning ancient history and ancient Iranian languages, especially the Avestan language. In 1945 he founded the Iranology Society and very soon afterwards the School of Iranology. Poordavood was awarded Germany's highest academic honour by the German President Theodor Heuss in 1955. Soon hereafter he received the Rabindranath Tagore Medal, which is conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions to literature, from India. In 1965 he received from the representative of Pope Paul VI in Tehran the order of Chevalier Saint Sylvester Pope (Knight of Saint Sylvester Pope). He was married to a woman of German origin; they had one ...

ANCIENT BULGARIAN LANGUAGE
There are many theories about the language of the ancient Bulgars, but the truth is that this language is survive! And Bulgarians use it until today! Its closest analogue is Avestan language! The basis of this theory can be seen in a book from 1913 - "Bulgarians - a descendants of the Royal Scythians and Sarmatians", DP Daskalov.

Bactria
Bactria :country in northern Afghanistan, in Antiquity famous for its fierce warriors and its ancient religion, which was founded by the prophet Zarathustra. If there was ever a region that can be described with the old geographical cliché that it is a country of opposites, it must be Bactria. Situated between the Hindu Kush mountain range in the south and the river Oxus (Amudar'ya) in the north, it is essentially an east-west zone that consists of extremely fertile alluvial plains, a hot desert, and cold mountains. Bactria (Bactriana, in Persian, also Bhalika in Arabic and Indian languages, and Ta-Hsia in Chinese) was the ancient Greek name of the country between the range of the Hindu Kush and the Amu Darya (Oxus); its capital, Bactra or Balhika or Bokhdi (now Balkh), was located in what is now Afghanistan. It is a mountainous region with a moderate climate. Water is abundant and the land is very fertile. Bactria was the homeland of Aryan tribes who moved south-west into Iran and into North-Western India around 2500-2000 BC Later it became the north province of the Persian Empire in Central Asia.(Cotterell, 59) It was in these regions, where the fertile soil of the mountainous country is surrounded by the Turanian desert, that the prophet Zarathushtra (Zoroaster) was said to have been born and gained his first adherents. Avestan, the language of the oldest portions of the Zoroastrian Avesta, was once called "old-iranic" which is related to Sanskrit. Today some scholars ...

Hewraman-The ancient village of Kurdistan !
Hewraman is a wonderful village in Kordestan. Hewraman has strong connections to the ancient Zoroastrian faith and claim that the name may have originated from Ahuraman or Ahura Mazda. Ahura Mazda is the name of God in the ancient Indo-Iranian Avestan language and comes from the ancient Zoroastrian faith, which is still widely practiced throughout the region. Many areas in the Hewraman region are believed to be pilgrimage sites for believers of Zoroastranism prior to the advent of Islam. Hewraman is one of the oldest village of Kurdistan. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within pt6 (of12)
The Entire plot of the second game in Ubisoft Montreals Prince of Persia trilogy. All of the cutscenes, boss fights and Dahaka chases with plenty more gameplay to fill in the edges. 3:50 I'm just trying to draw attention to the fact that gaining the life upgrades has another effect too. I'd certainly never noticed the glyphs on the floor before. Blade dancers - The blade dancers are lithe, clever, and seductive -- a devastating combination. Their tribal markings and dress belie their origins as women from the tribes that once populated the Island. Long since forced to serve the Empress, they now patrol the narrow walkways and crossbeams of the Palace, keeping its upper reaches secure -- and free from invaders. They are extremely devious, often dancing away from opponents before letting loose with a volley of razor-sharp disc-blades. Once they've distracted their opponent, they'll often vault back into the fray and cut them down in fierce melee combat. Combo attacks Orontes Grudge, Ptolemaios Anger, Wrath of Cyrus, Rage of Darius, Azad's Furious Retaliation, Zaroaster's Ire, Asha's Fury, Ahriman's Revenge and Mithra's Vengeance. These are the names of some of the attacks available to the Prince, below are brief explanations of the origins of these names. 1) The Orontes is a river which runs through Lebanon, Syria and Turkey. 2) Claudius Ptolemaeus (Ptolomy, Ptolemaios ) was a Roman citizen of Egypt. He was a mathematician, astronomer, geographer, astrologer and poet ...

∆Sejayno∆ "Mazdaznan" ft. Ayako Kataoka. Sejayno is Peter B, Carson Garhart, Severiano Martinez. Mazdaznan is a syncretistic religious health movement based on Zoroastrian and Christian ideas with special focus on breathing exercises, vegetarian diet and body culture. It was founded at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century by Otoman Zar-Adusht Ha'nish, born Otto Hanisch. The word Mazdaznan derives from the Persian "Mazda" and "Znan", and is supposed to mean "master thought". The Mazda car corporation coincides with the anglicized pronunciation of the founder's name, Jujiro Matsuda, who was interested in spirituality, and chose to rename the firm in honor of both his family and Zoroastrianism. The word Mazda derives from Ahura Mazda, the Avestan language name for a divinity exalted by the ancient Iranian prophet Zoroaster, as the source of wisdom, intelligence and harmony. Prayers for Nature at 'Surf City' Beach
Surfers are out early most mornings to catch the waves at Huntington Beach, about an hour south of Los Angeles. They call this area "Surf City." For Tom Morey, surfing is a passion, and a way of life. TOM MOREY: "Surfing to me is creation's most succinct metaphor, best metaphor, for how to live your life. Surf your life." Once a year, the surfers meet to talk about their love of the ocean at a worship service, called "Blessing of the Waves." The service is open to people of all beliefs. A Muslim leads an Islamic prayer. Someone else blows a traditional Jewish ram's horn called a shofar. Maneck Bhujwala, a Zoroastrian, reads a prayer in the ancient Avestan language. MANECK BHUJWALA: "So we have actually prayers for all the major elements of nature, including the water." A group of immigrants from the nation of Tonga sang. Two Roman Catholic clergymen also were there. After the service, 87 year old Christian Mondor went surfing. CHRISTIAN MONDOR: "It takes a lot of skill, but it's a wonderful feeling when you're moving with the ocean, especially when you get to stand up and ride it wherever you want. But, just to be in the water is such an invigorating experience. And, it's great to be back, all wet again." There is much to be thankful for, says Dean Torrence. He was part of the 1960s singing group "Jan and Dean." They helped to popularize surf music with songs like "Surf City." DEAN TORRENCE: "Sand, the ocean, the blue sky, the weather. I mean, what could be better? I'm ...

Ancient Iranian Goddess of the Waters (Part 1/3)
by Manya Saadi-nejad at CafeLitt cafelitt.ca Anahita is one of the major deities of Iranian Mythology. Aredvi Sura Anahita (Arədvī Sūrā Anāhitā) is her name in the Avestan language; it means "the humid, strong, pure and immaculate one ". Anahita is a pre-Zoroastrian goddess of water, abundance, blessing, fertility, marriage, love, motherhood, birth and victory. She embodied the physical and metaphorical qualities of water. She is also associated with rivers and lakes, as the waters of birth. Many of the surviving temple structures that were dedicated to her are connected with water, and perhaps all sources of water were considered to be her sacred places. She also ruled over semen and human fertility. She was viewed as the "Golden Mother" and as a warrior maiden. Anahita was very popular. She was an independent and powerful Goddess, not dependant on any male agent for her authority. It was her water that brought fecundity to the land, and her influence that brought fertility to animals and humans. She is one of the forms of the "Great Goddess" who appears in many ancient eastern religions (such as in Mesopotamian and Vedic mythology).
