Impiety
Impiety is a perceived lack of proper respect for something considered sacred. Impiety is often closely associated with sacrilege, though it is not necessarily a physical action. Impiety cannot be associated with a cult, as it implies a larger belief system was disrespected. One of the Pagan objections to Christianity was that, unlike other mystery religions, early Christians refused to cast a pinch of incense before the images of the gods, an impious act in their eyes. Impiety in ancient civilizations was a civic concern, rather than religious. It was believed that impious actions such as disrespect towards sacred objects or priests could bring down the wrath of the gods. Impiety was often used to prosecute atheists, who were widely discriminated against.
Historical relevance
Anaxagoras, an Athenian scholar, proposed that the sun and the stars were fiery stones whose heat we did not feel because of their distance. Athena used this to justify a charge of impiety and forced Anaxagoras into exile. Diagoras of Melos was accused of atheism, and had to flee Athens after being charged with impiety for revealing the Eleusinian mysteries and allegedly chopping up a statue of Heracles for firewood. Aristotle, mentor to Alexander the Great, was almost charged with impiety for refusal to recognize the divinity of his pupil and not holding the gods in honor. Aristotle fled the city before a trial could take place, saying, "I will not allow the Athenians to sin twice against philosophy".Socrates was executed for impiety.

Impiety (band)
Impiety is a Singaporean black metal band, formed in early 1990 by Shyaithan (vocals/guitar/bass) and drummer Necro-Angelfornicator. They are notable for being one of the first extreme metal bands to emerge from Singapore, including releasing records on notable Western record labels.
Biography
Impiety was originally formed in January 1990 by guitarist/bassist/vocalist Shyaithan (real name Mohammed Ariffeen Khuttubudeen) and drummer Necro-Angelfornicator, originally heavily influenced by the likes of Venom, Hellhammer, Sarcófago, Possessed, Destruction, Bathory and early Morbid Angel. The two recorded a rehearsal demo/promo in early 1991, but this was never officially released. After a few line-up changes, the band (now consisting of Shyaithan with guitarist Xxxul and drummer Iblyss) recorded its first official demo, in the form of 1992's Ceremonial Necrochrist Redesecration, which made a name for the band amongst underground tape-traders. Xxxul left Impiety in 1993, to be replaced by Iblyss' brother Leprophiliac Rex on guitars. This new trio signed to Shivadarshana Records, and recorded their first 7" single, Salve the Goat... Iblis Excelsi in 1993, which proved to be a great improvement in both sound and execution; the single was later licensed to the American label Fudgeworthy, who pressed it onto marbel vinyl.

L'ultima volta che vidi on stage Shyaithan ed IMPIETY fu se non sbaglio nel 2012. Questa è la terza volta che li vedo dal vivo e devo dire che nonostante gli anni siano passati, il loro distruttivo sound è rimasto inalterato (così come lo spirito). Il loro sound, prettamente War Metal (Black Death Metal) altisonante che proviene dalle lontane terre Sud Asiatiche, dove prevale la religione islamica, non è facile proporre un genere che là, si può andare incontro a seri problemi (se non addirittura la pena di morte per il genere e tematiche proposte). L'ultima volta che vidi on stage Shyaithan ed IMPIETY fu se non sbaglio nel 2012. Questa è la terza volta che li vedo dal vivo e devo dire che nonostante gli anni siano passati, il loro distruttivo sound è rimasto inalterato (così come lo spirito). Il loro sound, prettamente War Metal (Black Death Metal) altisonante che proviene dalle lontane terre Sud Asiatiche, dove prevale la religione islamica, non è facile proporre un genere che là, si può andare incontro a seri problemi (se non addirittura la pena di morte per il genere e tematiche proposte).
IMPIETY che esistono fin dal lontano 1990 e che continuano a marciare inarrestabili con la loro furia sonora, hanno deciso di fare un salto in Italia, nel Milanese (Paderno Dugnano) per qualche mini data sparsa in Europa (di cui oggi (giorno dopo il concerto di ieri) toccheranno il Sud Est Germania).
La scaletta non la sò, ma nel complesso, una giornata in pieno periodo Estivo (bollino nero pre-Ferragosto per coloro che da Milano scendono in Liguria, oggi e non sono stati pochi gli incidenti autostradali nel salire su, da come ho visto) ha permesso di vedermi la band (ad aprire ci sono stati i Svizzeri NIHILO, fautori di un prepotente Death Metal, di cui potrete ammirar un minuto e mezzo della loro esibizione sonora come apripista del suddetto show!) in quasi totale armonia. Ergo, ben pochi sono stati i partecipanti, sicuramente sotto la soglia delle 40 persone.
Un merchandise scarno, di cui veramente poco era a disposizione ma in compenso con dei prezzi ai limiti del regalare (CD a 8 euro, toppe e tape a 5 euro, vinili a 15 euro). Nessun'altro banchetto disponibile al di fuori delle due bands mi ha permesso di concentrarmi sul materiale loro...
Che altro aggiungere, è stata un'occasione quasi improvvisa in quanto io quasi di norma, in Agosto non esco quasi mai dalla mia regione e sotto Ferragosto nemmeno di casa esco. Ringrazio chi di dovere per il passaggio auto e questo memorandum, fatto da un FAN per i FAN è il mio ricordo della suddetta serata.
Il video è quasi completo, alla fine hanno suonato all'incirca 45 minuti. Un piccolo stacco fotografico ed il resto è ciò che vi è disponibile in questo video.
Ci si vede alla prossima data (2 Settembre a Genova Rossiglione, per i BULLDOZER e altri soci)

L'ultima volta che vidi on stage Shyaithan ed IMPIETY fu se non sbaglio nel 2012. Questa è la terza volta che li vedo dal vivo e devo dire che nonostante gli anni siano passati, il loro distruttivo sound è rimasto inalterato (così come lo spirito). Il loro sound, prettamente War Metal (Black Death Metal) altisonante che proviene dalle lontane terre Sud Asiatiche, dove prevale la religione islamica, non è facile proporre un genere che là, si può andare incontro a seri problemi (se non addirittura la pena di morte per il genere e tematiche proposte).
IMPIETY che esistono fin dal lontano 1990 e che continuano a marciare inarrestabili con la loro furia sonora, hanno deciso di fare un salto in Italia, nel Milanese (Paderno Dugnano) per qualche mini data sparsa in Europa (di cui oggi (giorno dopo il concerto di ieri) toccheranno il Sud Est Germania).
La scaletta non la sò, ma nel complesso, una giornata in pieno periodo Estivo (bollino nero pre-Ferragosto per coloro che da Milano scendono in Liguria, oggi e non sono stati pochi gli incidenti autostradali nel salire su, da come ho visto) ha permesso di vedermi la band (ad aprire ci sono stati i Svizzeri NIHILO, fautori di un prepotente Death Metal, di cui potrete ammirar un minuto e mezzo della loro esibizione sonora come apripista del suddetto show!) in quasi totale armonia. Ergo, ben pochi sono stati i partecipanti, sicuramente sotto la soglia delle 40 persone.
Un merchandise scarno, di cui veramente poco era a disposizione ma in compenso con dei prezzi ai limiti del regalare (CD a 8 euro, toppe e tape a 5 euro, vinili a 15 euro). Nessun'altro banchetto disponibile al di fuori delle due bands mi ha permesso di concentrarmi sul materiale loro...
Che altro aggiungere, è stata un'occasione quasi improvvisa in quanto io quasi di norma, in Agosto non esco quasi mai dalla mia regione e sotto Ferragosto nemmeno di casa esco. Ringrazio chi di dovere per il passaggio auto e questo memorandum, fatto da un FAN per i FAN è il mio ricordo della suddetta serata.
Il video è quasi completo, alla fine hanno suonato all'incirca 45 minuti. Un piccolo stacco fotografico ed il resto è ciò che vi è disponibile in questo video.
Ci si vede alla prossima data (2 Settembre a Genova Rossiglione, per i BULLDOZER e altri soci)

Impiety
Impiety is a perceived lack of proper respect for something considered sacred. Impiety is often closely associated with sacrilege, though it is not necessarily a physical action. Impiety cannot be associated with a cult, as it implies a larger belief system was disrespected. One of the Pagan objections to Christianity was that, unlike other mystery religions, early Christians refused to cast a pinch of incense before the images of the gods, an impious act in their eyes. Impiety in ancient civilizations was a civic concern, rather than religious. It was believed that impious actions such as disrespect towards sacred objects or priests could bring down the wrath of the gods. Impiety was often used to prosecute atheists, who were widely discriminated against.
Historical relevance
Anaxagoras, an Athenian scholar, proposed that the sun and the stars were fiery stones whose heat we did not feel because of their distance. Athena used this to justify a charge of impiety and forced Anaxagoras into exile. Diagoras of Melos was accused of atheism, and had to flee Athens after being charged with impiety for revealing the Eleusinian mysteries and allegedly chopping up a statue of Heracles for firewood. Aristotle, mentor to Alexander the Great, was almost charged with impiety for refusal to recognize the divinity of his pupil and not holding the gods in honor. Aristotle fled the city before a trial could take place, saying, "I will not allow the Athenians to sin twice against philosophy".Socrates was executed for impiety.
