Trebetherick (Cornish: Trebedrek) is a village on the north coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated on the east side of the River Camel estuary approximately six miles (10 km) north of Wadebridge and half a mile (800 metres) south of Polzeath.
Trebetherick straddles the Polzeath to Wadebridge road and extends west to Daymer Bay and northwest to Trebetherick Point, a rocky headland in the estuary, where the remains of shipwrecks can be seen on the foreshore. The National Trust owns land adjacent to Trebetherick Point.
South of Trebetherick Point is Daymer Bay with a sandy beach sheltered from the Atlantic. The beach provides safe bathing for holidaying families and is also popular with windsurfers.
At the south end of Daymer Bay Brea Hill rises to 62 metres (203 feet) with several tumuli at the summit.
Behind Daymer Bay's sand dunes and south of Trebetherick is the St Enodoc Golf Club's golf course. Between its fairways is St Enodoc Church, a small church with a bent steeple. It lies considerably below the current surrounding ground level, having been excavated in 1863 after being completely buried by drifting sand.
St. Moritz (German: Sankt Moritz; French: Saint-Moritz; Romansh: San Murezzan ; Italian: San Maurizio) is a resort town in the Engadine valley in Switzerland. It is a municipality in the district of Maloja in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The highest summit in the Eastern Alps, the Piz Bernina, lies a few kilometres south of the town. St. Moritz hosted the Winter Olympics in 1928 and 1948. It is a popular destination of the upper class and international jet set, as well as one of the most expensive ski resorts in the world.
Votive offerings, swords, and needles from the Bronze Age found at the base of the springs in St. Moritz indicate that the Celts had already discovered them.
St. Moritz is first mentioned around 1137-39 as ad sanctum Mauricium. The town was named after Saint Maurice, an early Christian saint from southern Egypt said to have been martyred in 3rd century Roman Switzerland while serving as leader of the Theban Legion.
Pilgrims traveled to Saint Mauritius often to the church of the springs, where they drank from the blessed, bubbling waters of the Mauritius springs in the hopes of being healed. In 1519, the Medici pope, Leo X, promised full absolution to anyone making a pilgrimage to the church of the springs. In the 16th century, the first scientific treatises about the St. Moritz mineral springs were written. In 1535, Paracelsus, the great practitioner of nature cures, spent some time in St. Moritz.

Most of the south west had weather warning for 60 mph winds, but we were more interested in the High Tides & flood alerts. This is Daymer Bay, Trebetherick, Cornwall. My home. Only steps to beach were inaccessible due to fierce waves crashing on to the beach at high tide. Surfer dudes were making use of great waves. October 17th 2012

It is the nature, sadly, of field recording that sound quality is often not all that one might wish for. The current piece, universally catalogued as “No Place for Discourtesy” is, for example, marred by static interference which I believe was caused by the proximity to my microphone of Arthur “One Arm” Gunwalloe’s hand hook. I include this piece, audio quality notwithstanding, as an example of the work of husband and wife duo Agnes Blackwater (on harmonica) and Perranzabaloe Horningtops (on lead concertina). By the time I recorded them, Blackwater and Horningtops gave at least the appearance of living in the kind of harmony that their playing so often lacked; their path to this state of affairs however, appears to have been anything but straightforward. Horningtops, a Falmouth longshorema...
