Concrete Canvas Shelters '08
Concrete Canvas Shelters are rapidly deployable hardened shelters that require only water and air for construction. Visit www.concretecanvas.co.uk for further information. The key to CCS is the use of inflation to create a surface that is optimised for compressive loading. This allows thin walled concrete structures to be formed which are both robust and lightweight. CCS consist of a cement impregnated fabric (Concrete Cloth) bonded to the outer surface of a plastic inner which forms a Nissen-Hut shaped structure once inflated. Visit www.concretecanvas.co.uk for further information.

beet cake
song: "babe" - evenings
There is something beautiful about the baking process. The way flour feels in your hands or the sound of eggs cracking on the edge of a bowl. Baking is a gathering of interesting materials, a mixed medium art piece of sorts, that ends in a cake instead of a canvas.
Thank you for your compliments. We have not been able to respond to comments for some reason (still trying to figure it out....) but here is some general info.
We shot this with a Canon 5D and 7D with EF 50mm f1.4 USM and EF 24-105mm f4L IS. We edited in Final Cut Pro and colored in Color and FCP. We wrote out the titles and edited them in Photoshop.
And yes, the beet cake is delicious!

Nikon - WHY
Nikon D4 Release Video
It's here! The Nikon D4 has arrived and it is a freaking HOT camera! For the past months I have been working in silence with an amazingly talented crew and three of the best athletes on the planet producing my short D4 launch film "WHY". It was like Christmas morning when Nikon called and described the new camera and all of its incredible features. All I could think was that this is the camera we have been waiting for. Then the gift of all gifts... "Corey, dream up a film that you would like to shoot. You pick the topic. You pick the location. It's your film... only requirement is you show off the features of the new camera." My favorite quote from the call was "You have a blank white canvas and it's up to you to fill it". I had to pinch myself several times to confirm that the call was real. Everyone involved has been tight lipped about the project for months and today we can finally begin to share some of the assets and get fired up about the camera!!!
I have always been facinated by those people that are the best at what they do. Those that operate on the edge; scientists, artists, musicians, athletes, etc. Always the question that I find myself asking is "WHY"? What deep inside drives them? What does the world look like through their eyes? Those that live on the edge, push the envelope, redefine sports and industries operate in a space all to themselves. In my Nikon D4 launch film I wanted to visually portray the beauty and intensity of the athletes doing what they do best while also delving into their heads and answering the question "WHY"? There was a very simple list of criteria used when selecting the athletes for this film. 1. They needed to be the best in the world at what they do. 2. They needed to be true role modes / heros. (In short, no ego and just simply fantastic people). Dane, Rebecca and Alex fulfill the requirements in spades!
As it seems to be with many shoots, the schedule for WHY was INSANE! In just 13 days we went from Veracruz, Mexico to Moab, Utah to Joshua Tree, California. With a fantastic crew of eight amazingly talented people, three of the worlds best athletes, over 20 pieces of luggage, three D4 prototypes, an rc helicopter and enough RedBull and ClifBars to keep us awake and moving, the entire journey was epic! Huge days, little sleep, lost bags, crashed helicopter (the D4 lived), speeding tickets (talked our way out of both ;-), wicked mosquito bites, flu, and a trip to the urgent care - all the prerequisites for a great shoot. Just the way I like it!
Special thanks to everyone that helped on this production! Dane Henry, Shawn Corrigan, Rex Lint, Mike Hagadorn; you guys are studs! Blaine Deutsch and Marina Rich, thank you for keeping us all on track, organized, fed and looking good (and Marina, thanks for loving me and being the best wife in the world). Gen Umei, Soichi Hayashi, Jason Jenkins and Mike Corrado; thank you for the opportunity! Dane Jackson, Alex Honnold and Rebecca Rusch, you guys really made the film and answered the question WHY!!! Tommy Thompson and Chris McNamara; thanks for keeping us safe and getting me into the coolest camera positions possible! Amazing team and thank you everyone who helped!
When it is all said and done by far the most exciting part is the future. It's about the collective creativity and vision of the photo and video community and what we will all create when we get a D4 in our hands. One thing is for certain, WHY was just the tip of the iceberg!

The LightLine of Gotham
seeper love to de-familiarise the familiar; re-opening our eyes to a spectacular world.
Working in collaboration with Vimeo to conclude the Vimeo Festival and Awards, seeper introduced “Light Lining” to the USA with a neon-veined visual embrace. The strange contours of the Frank Gehry IAC Headquarters building in New York City provided the perfect canvas for this spellbinding display of sight and sound.
And why should our urban environment be static? seeper are paving the way for a world that is reactive. We are giving the world a pulse.

Tilt :
The hotel Au vieux panier asked me to design a room, I first told them that I wasn't interested doing just decoration in the room but I wanted
to create something that will look more like an installation. I thought about it also as a huge canvas where I needed to think about the composition
and play with the empty white part of the room to accentuate more the idea of Chaos on the other part. Then I asked my friend Tober who gat a great
old school style for tags, Grizz who is also the man behind the camera and Don Cho who is a Hip Hop singer from Marseille but who used to be
a tagger from my home town Toulouse. It took one week to do the whole thing cause the idea was to exaggerate what you can usually see in some
abandoned places. Too much tags, too much drips, too much sentences, too much throw ups ... What I also wanted to show is that people can appreciate
any type of graffiti, even the more basic, it's just a matter of point of view ...

How to: DIY Melted Crayons on Canvas
**Please read before asking questions in comments! It may be answered! A how to on the popular melted crayon fad as seen on Tumblr and other social networking sites! It's a fun and easy do it yourself project...Play around with colors to make one that's unique and totally yours! **Things you will need: Canvas Crayons Hot glue gun Hair dryer Optional: Acrylic paint for canvas I used an 18x24 canvas, and I used a 64 pack of crayons, and the bright colors out of a 48 pack. In total, to reach from one end of the canvas to the other, it takes 69 crayons (hey now...). It took about 1.5 gluesticks (: As requested, a picture of the tree I painted in the background: a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net
