Mining Boom in Fennoscandia
Great opportunities in Fennoscandia, Northern Europe! Europe's richest ore reserve domain has seen an enormous increase in mining activities and mineral exploration during the last few years. Companies have invested record sums in the search for base metals and precious metals. Several mine projects are active and new mines have been opened. The Fennoscandian Shield offers great potential for new discoveries! Fennoscandia = a geographic and geological term describing the Scandinavian Peninsula, the Kola Peninsula, Karelia and Finland. In geology, it also refers to the underlying Fennoscandian Shield of Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

The Devil Nuclear Power WTB. was part 1 of other vid El Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.
en.wikipedia.org Post-glacial rebound (sometimes called continental rebound, glacial isostatic adjustment) is the rise of land masses that were depressed by the huge weight of ice sheets during the last glacial period, through a process known as isostasy. It affects northern Europe (especially Scotland, Fennoscandia and northern Denmark), Siberia, Canada, the Great Lakes of Canada and the United States, parts of Patagonia, and Antarctica. this was part 1 we could not upload yesterday. where still real sick. looking for a place to crash to get well or any meds. like anti boitic

Isolated Haapasaari Island at the Finno-Russian Border
Haapasaari Island is situated on the north side of the Eastern Gulf of Finland National Park. The Gulf of Finland is on the edge of Fennoscandia. Haapasaari Island is a gateway to the south and east, which is obvious from the islands natural features and its culture more so than at other islands. 1. International nature reserve, a national park in the border region. 2. The dramatic change in the soil and earth around the Gulf of Finland 3. The boundaries of sea basin, mainland and international laws. 4. Environmental problems 5. Cooperation between countries bordering the Gulf of Finland At the nature information hut visitors learn about the Eastern Gulf of Finland National Park as well as Suursaari Island, Tytärsaari Islands, Peninsaari Island, Seiskari Island and Lavansaari Island which are all situated on the Russian side of the border. The exhibit also offers information on the areas soil, as well as the over-fertilization of the Gulf of Finland and other environmental problems. There is a small reference library, where visitors can for example check what bird species they have just seen. There is a shop on Haapasaari Island. At the shop there is a fuel distribution point. There is also a Coast Guard station / passport inspection point on the island.

Nyan mööp!
Lapland is a region in northern Fennoscandia, largely within the Arctic Circle. It streches across Norway, Sweden, Finland and the Kola Peninsula (Russia). On the North it is bounded by the Barents Sea, on the West by the Norwegian Sea and on the East by the White Sea. The name Lapland refers to land inhabited by the Sami people, formerly called Lapp people, which is now considered derogatory,[2][3] who are the minority indigenous people of the region. Due to this, some define "Lappland" as coterminus with Sápmi, the entire traditional area of the Sámi - on the North bounded by the Barents Sea, on the West by the Norwegian Sea and on the East by the White Sea. However, the Norwegian and Russian parts of the area "Sápmi" are neither formally called "Lapland", nor considered part of "Lapland" by its inhabitants - although in recent times some parts of the area (such as Finnmark) has been marketed as "Lapland" for promoting tourism, although the Norwegian area mostly correspond to the larger region of Northern Norway. Formally, though, the name only survives in Finland and Sweden, where provinces bear the name. Lapland (Finnish: Lappi; Northern Sami: Lappi; Swedish: Lappland) is the largest and northernmost of the regions of Finland. The municipalities in the province cooperate in a Regional Council. It borders the Region of North Ostrobothnia in the south. It also borders the Gulf of Bothnia, Norrbotten County in Sweden, Finnmark County and Troms County in Norway as well as ...

Kvenland And kven people(Kainuu ja kainulaiset)
Kven people (Cwen, Kvæn, Quen, Qven, kveeni) - kainulainen, kainuulainen or kveeni in Finnish and Kven languages - are a Finnish tribe of people. The Kvens have continuously inhabited the territories of Scandinavia, Fennoscandia and some of the surrounding areas since the last ice age, and possibly before the ice age as well. At some point, the neighbors of the Kvens - presumably first the Norse - began referring to them as Kvens and their land as Kvenland. The Kvens have historically referred to themselves as kainulainen, and their land as Kainuu and Kainuunmaa ("maa" meaning land). The ethnically and culturally separate people, the Samis, are indigenous largely to the same areas than the Kvens. The cultures, lifestyles and traditions of the two peoples have been very different since as far back as can be told, and in medieval accounts the two peoples are always discussed separately. Over a long time, the size of Kvenland gradually shrunk. In the end of the Viking Age it still covered nearly all of the middle and northern parts of Scandinavia and the modern-day Finland, as well as all of the Kola Peninsula (located in the extreme northwestern part of today's Russia), based on medieval accounts. Over the last two millennia, the Kven population and their culture have slowly assimilated and mixed with the rest of the Nordic populations, greatly contributing to and melting with what have become Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. However, still today the unique and ...

In this game (Making History 2: The War of the World) I am playing with the scenario/mod called Sapmi which adds the nation called Sapmi. More info down bellow. List of all songs used in this video: 1: Partyjoik - Rolffa 2: Anthem of the Sami People on ocarina - Youtube user saajveh 3: Orbina - Orbina 4: 29 deanu majja - intrigue (heavy joik) 5: Eadni nieida - intrigue (heavyjoik) 6: Anthem of the Sami People 7: The beginning of And Die Fraude (Ode To Joy) Sápmi is the name of the cultural region traditionally inhabited by the Sami people, the Lapps or Laplanders, as they are traditionally known in English. Sápmi is located in Northern Europe and includes the northern parts of Fennoscandia. The region stretches over four countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia. Sápmi is the name in North Sami, while the Julev Sami name is Sábme and the South Sami name is Saemie. In Norwegian and Swedish the term Sameland is often used.

Karjalaisten laulu
Karjalaisten laulu - Karjalan maakuntalaulu, Sanat ja sävel PJ Hannikainen Suloisessa Suomessamme Oisko maata armaampaa, Kuin on kaunis Karjalamme, Laulun laaja kotimaa! Laulua sen kosket kuohuu, Järven aallot loiskuaa, Säveleitä salot huokuu, Ikihongat humajaa. Ei oo meillä rikkautta Eikä maamme viljavaa; Vaan on laulun runsautta Kylvämättä kasvavaa; Sit ei pane idän halla Eikä pohjan pakkaset, Se ei sorru sortamalla, Sitä ei lyö rakehet. Konsa vaino Suomeamme Kovin kourin koettelee, Silloin kurja Karjalamme Suomen surut soittelee, Ja kun onnen päivän koitto Suomellen taas sarastaa, Silloin riemun suuri soitto Karjalasta kajahtaa!

Things that are Particularly Finnish
Jim's music thelongholidays.com Jenny's stuff http Greetings from the Netherlands. I, Jim, just got back from Lapland. Here is a very brief overview of what went on there. I'll have some more next week. No, we're not a blatant ripoff of TheTeaProject. The name is an homage which has been OK'd by the tea people. There is no beef in that regard, so don't start any. All the music you hear is original. Let me know if you want anything like this for your own videos. It's all creative commons. 1. Coffee Project Song on music box 2. Eskimo Girls: Caution Heavy Surf 3. Ropin' Martians: Sheriff Hunter The Band 4. Lazy Day: The Long Holidays featuring Jenny

Sound Stills
I move sound. Noise from one location is manifest elsewhere, and in another dimension. I turn sound into 3 dimensional objects which appear to be flat, and then heighten this sense of flattening, and of silence, with the hush of a photograph.
Humans have long been intruiged by visualising sound waves as we are, supposedly, ‘better’ at seeing than hearing. How does one even begin to compare the senses? There are more neurons in our brains devoted to the visual than the aural, and so we might think we are more able to analysize data when it comes from a visual realm.

The white forms in these photographs are the sculptural manifestations of audio footage that was recorded along the border between Russia and Finland. Here the unique old-growth forests stand, The Green Belt of Fennoscandia. Recently these ancient trees are being logged for their valuable timber. There are only few remaining areas of ancient forest in Europe with the vast majority of the vanishing old-growth forests remaining are in the North of European Russia.
The soundwaves are actual objects, each is 6 metres high, reminiscent of the height of a tree, despite looking like digital intervention. I recorded them when the forest was still there. Then, when the trees had gone, I put the ‘sounds’ back to where they used to exist, sounds that look like trees that will never be heard again.
