A Conversation With Stephen King (1:38:42)
Stephen King's words on page and screen have thrilled and chilled fans for three decades, but opportunities to hear those words spoken by the author himself are rare. For one night only, King took to the stage at the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell.

IT (1990) - A Stephen King's Film
It (also referred to as Stephen King's IT) is a 1990 horror/fantasy mystery miniseries based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. The story revolves around an inter-dimensional predatory life-form, which has the ability to transform itself into its prey's worst fears allowing it to exploit the phobias of its victims. It mostly takes the form of a sadistic, wisecracking clown called "Pennywise the Dancing Clown". The main protagonists are "The Losers Club" a group of social outcasts who discover Pennywise and vow to destroy him by any means necessary. The series takes place over two different time periods, the first when the Losers first discover Pennywise as children, and the second when they're called back as adults to defeat Pennywise, who has resurfaced.
It aired as a two-part television movie on November 18 and November 20, 1990 on ABC, and loosely follows the plot of the novel. The miniseries was filmed in New Westminster, British Columbia in late 1989. The film's all star cast includes Dennis Christopher, Annette O'Toole, John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Richard Thomas, Tim Reid, Richard Masur, Michael Cole, and Tim Curry as the evil Pennywise. Argentinian actress Olivia Hussey appears as Audra, Bill Denbrough's wife.

Craig Ferguson - Stephen King
August 6, 2012 - Excellent interview with a relaxed and very droll Stephen King. They discuss the writing process, the contrast between an author's works and his real-world personality, the afterlife, Jung, collective ideas, and the reason for the dissolution of the authors-only band, The Rock Bottom Remainders. What could be better than two puckish brainiacs at play? :)
I'm always delighted by Craig's enthusiasm for Jung's "The Red Book". Not surprising that a man who values both the randomness of the mind and the thoughtful quest for the intangible is captivated by a book which is a tangled road map through the human psyche.
Two guys in Speedos and swim caps did make for an oddly Freudian intro though. O.O

Nine-year-old Trisha McFarland strays from the path while she and her recently divorced mother and brother take a hike along a branch of the Appalachian Trail. Lost for days, wandering farther and farther astray, Trisha has only her portable radio for comfort. A huge fan of Tom Gordon, a Boston Red Sox relief pitcher, she listens to baseball games and fantasizes that her hero will save her. Nature isn't her only adversary, though - something dangerous may be tracking Trisha through the dark woods.

Misery Chastain was dead. Paul Sheldon had just killed her - with relief, with joy. Misery had made him rich; she was the heroine of a string of bestsellers. And now he wanted to get on to some real writing. That's when the car accident happened, and he woke up in pain in a strange bed. But it wasn't the hospital. Annie Wilkes had pulled him from the wreck, brought him to her remote mountain home, splinted and set his mangled legs. The good news was that Annie was a nurse and has pain-killing drugs. The bad news was that she was Paul's Number One Fan. And when she found out what Paul had done to Misery, she didn't like it. She didn't like it at all. And now he had to bring Misery back to life. Stephen King's The Stand: "The Plague" [1994] FULL
First part of The Stand by Stephen King. One of my favorite movies and I just wanted to share it with you guys.
At a government laboratory, a weaponized version of influenza is accidentally released, immediately wiping out everyone at the laboratory, save for security guard Charles Campion and his family, who flee the base. However, Campion unknowingly spreads the "super flu" to the outside world. One of the first sites of infection is at a gas station in East Texas where Stu Redman (Gary Sinise) and some friends have gathered. While others take sick, Stu remains mysteriously healthy and is kept in confinement at a CDC facility in order to study a possible cure. This proves futile and the superflu rages unchecked, killing over 99% of the population.
After the infection runs its course a small group of immune survivors lies scattered across the country. These include rock star Larry Underwood (Adam Storke), who has just had his big break but is now stranded in a dead New York City, Nick Andros (Rob Lowe) a deaf man in the midwest, Frannie Goldsmith (Molly Ringwald) a teenager in Ogunquit, Maine, Lloyd Henreid (Miguel Ferrer) a criminal stuck in a prison cell, and "Trashcan Man" (Matt Frewer) a mentally ill scavenger. The survivors soon begin having visions, either of Mother Abagail (Ruby Dee) a kindly old black woman, or of a demonic seeming man named Randall Flagg, (Jamey Sheridan). The two sets of visions call their recipients to travel either to Nebraska to meet Mother Abagail, or to Las Vegas to join Randall Flagg.

Stephen, the King (István, a király) - Hungarian rock opera from the Millenary
In 1983, in the latest years of the communist regime, a recent play was put on in Budapest's greatest park. The music (Levente Szörényi) and the writing (János Bródy) has been over the years a little part of the hungarian nation's sense. There is a song for freedom, song about, what the freedom is, what can be a route of fate of a thousand-years old land and his nation with God and with ourselves alone.
The rock opera was based on true historical events. In 997, the hungarian grand prince, Stephen defeated Koppány, the leader of the transdanubian pagan rebels. Stephen was the founder of the hungarian state, one of the apostles of christianity and the builder of christian european culture in Hungary.

Stephen King's The Stand: "The Stand" [1994] FULL
The Last part of The Stand by Stephen King
With Winter fast approaching the four men set out on their quest. While crossing a washed out road, Stu breaks his leg and stays behind while the others continue. Larry, Glen, and Ralph are soon captured by Flagg's forces and forced to endure a show trial before being executed. As they are being tortured, to the delight of Flagg's acolytes, Trashcan Man arrives, with a nuclear bomb on a cart. As Flagg transforms into a demonic visage, a spectral hand reaches out and detonates the bomb, destroying Las Vegas and apparently killing Flagg. Stu is rescued by Tom Cullen, who takes him to a nearby cabin to heal as winter sets in. Back in Boulder no one is sure what happened to their missing friends, until Tom and Stu show up in the midst of a blinding snow storm. Soon after being reunited with Stu, Frannie gives birth to a healthy baby; a daughter named in honor of Mother Abagail.
