Today we are visiting the Russian Orthodox Convent and Church of St. Mary Magdalene at the Mount of Olives here in Jerusalem.

The structure of the church of Mary Magdalene Jerusalem reminds its visitors of Mother Russia or more precisely the Kremlin complex in Moscow. The Church has seven Onion shaped domes, each crowned by a tall gilded Russian orthodox cross. Above the entrance, there is a gabled roof with a circular blue mosaic framed in Gold depicting Mary Magdalene piously robed in white.
On the main wall we find a painted canvas that depicts Mary Magdalene handing an egg to the Emperor Tiberius. A cording to the legend Mary traveled to Rom to complain about Jesus unfair trial and sentence. She brought with her a white egg symbolizing Jesus pure soul. However, when she handed the egg to Tiberius the egg turned red, thus becoming a living symbol of Jesus' blood and resurrection. Quite possible that this is the source for the Easter tradition of dying eggs in red.
The most sacred item in this church, in a specially carved wooden icon-case, is the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God 'HODIGITRIA'. This icon came from a church in Lebanon back in the 16th century when it miraculously survived a fire that consumed the church. Later it healed many people during a cholera epidemic. To this day believers receive miraculous help from the Mother of God after praying before her holy icon.
Here in the marble sarcophagi, are the remains of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fyodorovna, granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England and the wife of the Grand Dukes Sergei who initiate the construction of this church during the 19th century.
The church stands in the Garden of Gethsemane, the place where Jesus spent His last night on earth. Also found on the convent grounds are the remnants of a pre-Roman road, the biblical entry to Jerusalem through which Jesus walked on during his procession into Jerusalem. Not far from this road is a large stone on to which the Mother of God dropped her cincture to Apostle Thomas on the third day following her Dormition.
There are many caves in the Garden of Gethsemane which the Church tells us were used by Christ and his Disciples for prayer. One large cave in the grounds of the convent is used as a chapel, where the sisters meet to read their evening prayer rule.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Church claims that the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion in Axum houses the Biblical Ark of the Covenant, in which lie the Tablets of Law upon which the 10 Commandments are inscribed. In this video we approach the Church in the early morning, just after sunrise. We make it through the main entrance and we witness an impressive Christian mass.

This church was built by St. Paula, who lived in Bethlehem and died there in 404 A.D., this church was naturally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but at one time was called St. Paula (either by mistake by the builder or for one of the numerous other churches built in Bethlehem by St. Paula). In the 14th Century this church was known as the Church of St. Nicholas, as shown in a Papal Bull of Gregory XI in 1375, authorizing the Franciscans to rebuild it, which was not then done. The Franciscans first took possession of the church sometime after 1347 after they became caretakers of the Sanctuary of the Nativity. The soft white stones in this church were exported to many European churches under the name of The Virgin's Milk. It was one of these relics that Gerard III, Bishop of Bethlehem, took to the camp of King Baldwin III during the siege of Ascalon in 1153.
The present building around the Grotto was put up by the Franciscans in 1872, some of the old church mosaics and traces of original walls remain to this day. The church was extensively rebuilt, remodeled, and adorned with marble and hand cut sculptures, benches, icons, and engravings by Issa A. Michael Hazboun and sons in 1934-1935. Another tradition going back to the VII century is located at this site and is the burial place of the innocent children which were the victims killed by Herod the Great after Jesus' birth.

"Kanivin Thenthulli" - This documentary speaks in detail about the various miracles of Our Lady Rosa Mystica happening at the St Mary's Forane church in Thripunithura.
As a sign of Her special presence here, honey flows from the statue of the Blessed Mother venerated as 'ROSA MYSTICA', the Mystical Rose.
In the Spring of 1947 the Blessed Virgin appeared as 'ROSA MYSTICA' to Pierina Gilli, a nurse, at Montechiari close to the city Brescia in Northern Italy. Since then there were several apparitions of Rosa Mystica in that place and it became a famous centre of Marian Pilgrimage.
In 2008 Very Rev. Dr. Jose Puthiyedath, the vicar or this church visited Montichiari and he brought with him a small statue of Rosa Mystica. One day he had an inspiration to pray with the statue for nine consecutive days. Thus he gave this statue to Mrs. Cicily(The lady shown in the video) , a pious woman and a fervent Marian devotee in the parish, to pray for nine consecutive days. She gladly accepted the mission and took the statue to her house on 5th of October, 2009. On October 7th while she was reciting the Rosary, she noticed honey flowing from the statue of Rosa Mystica. Heavenly fragrance emanated from the statue. She informed the Vicar and he came to her house along with the Assistant Vicar. They saw for themselves the wonderful happening, tasted the honey and found it real. Hearing about the miracle people began to crowd the house. On October 31, 2009 the statue was brought to the church with great devotion and enshrined on the altar. People started flowing to the church to pray and to see the wonder.
Honey continues to flow from this miraculous statue since that day. It is collected by the priests in the church and given to the devotees who request for it. Thousands have taken the honey and many have reported wonderful cures and other miraculous results from the use of it. Their witness is attracting more and more people to this Marian Shrine. Thus the Divine Mother works her wonders as ROSA MYSTICA in this chosen spot of her motherly intervention.
Mrs Cicily herself has received many graces and gifts from Jesus and Mother Mary. She receives Stigmata on some days, has had various visions, and revelations. A statue of Rosa Mystica at her house weeps blood.

PETALING JAYA: The glass panel at the Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC), which has an image said to resemble the Virgin Mary, has been moved to a Catholic church in Klang.
In a statement, Sime Darby Bhd said two panels from the North Tower of the hospital complex had been taken down in a 95-minute operation which began at 10am yesterday.
"One of the panels has marks that some claim resemble artistic depictions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus," the company said.
Some eyewitnesses also claimed to have seen another image forming on one of the windows below, which allegedly resembled the face of Jesus.
The company stressed that the removal of the glass panels was carried out by professionals and due care was taken.
"Church leaders and members of the Subang Jaya parish were present to witness the removal of the window panels," it said.
The panels were moved to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang.
Hundreds of people witnessed the removal process with many whipping out their handphones to record the event.
In KLANG, Catholics turned up in droves at the church as word spread that the glass panels had been brought there.
Both panels are being displayed in the chapel, located behind the church.
Parish priest Rev Fr Michael Chua said the panels can be viewed by the public from 7am to 10pm daily.
Catholics were seen clutching the rosary and silently praying. Many also took photographs of the panels.
Retiree Michael Ghana said this was his fifth time viewing the image. He had gone to SDMC four times previously.
"Today, the image is clearer than usual. It's a miracle," he said.
Patimary Anthony Raju, 58, said she was very happy that the panels were moved to her parish church.
"I can feel Mother Mary's presence when praying," she said.

Completed in 1930, the Shrine at Lourdes exists in reinforced concrete form at Inchicore in Dublin. Measuring 50 feet in height, 130 feet in width and with a depth of 40 feet, the Grotto provides an opportunity for those unable to travel to France to express their devotion to Our Lady Immaculate. Located behind the Church of Mary Immaculate, this architectural oddity, its dimensions which match the original in South West France, remains relatively unknown here in Ireland.

The Church of Mary (Turkish: Meryem Kilisesi) is an ancient Christian cathedral dedicated to the Theotokos ("Birth-Giver of God", i.e., the Virgin Mary), located in Ephesus (near present-day Selçuk in Turkey). It is also known as the Church of the Councils because two councils of importance to the history of Early Christianity are assumed to have been held within. According to the New Testament, Mary (Miriam: Hebrew: מרים; c. 18 BC – c. 43 AD), also known as Saint Mary, the Virgin Mary, or the Blessed Virgin Mary—amongst other titles, styles and honorifics—was a Galilean Jewish woman of Nazareth and the mother of Jesus.
The gospels of Matthew and Luke in the New Testament describe Mary as a virgin (Greek: παρθένος, parthénos) and Christians believe that she conceived her son while a virgin by the Holy Spirit. This took place when she was already betrothed to Joseph and was awaiting the concluding rite of marriage, the formal home-taking ceremony. She married Joseph and accompanied him to Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. According to ancient Jewish custom, Mary could have been betrothed at about 12, however, there is no direct evidence of Mary's age at betrothal or in pregnancy. The term "betrothal" is an awkward translation of kiddushin; according to the Jewish law those called "betrothed" were actually husband and wife.
The Gospel of Luke begins its account of Mary's life with the Annunciation, when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and announced her divine selection to be the mother of Jesus. According to gospel accounts, Mary was present at the Crucifixion of Jesus and is depicted as a member of the early Christian community in Jerusalem. According to Apocryphal writings, at some time soon after her death, her incorrupt body was assumed directly into Heaven, to be reunited with her soul, and the apostles thereupon found the tomb empty; this is known in Christian teaching as the Assumption.

Local churches (affiliation)
The local churches are a Christian movement founded in China whose beliefs and practice are based on the teachings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. They condemn denominationalism and instruct believers to meet together with no name or basis other than the city or locality in which they reside. They emphasize the subjective experience of Christ as well as the Biblical truths regarding Christ and the church. Nee was influenced by the writings of the Plymouth Brethren.
Local churches are found on every continent and claim several million members.
History
Origins
The development of the local churches as a group can be traced to the conversion of Watchman Nee in Fuzhou, China. At an early age, Nee committed his life to Christian ministry. Mostly self-educated, he published his interpretation of the inner Christian life and of New Testament church practices through books and magazines after moving to Shanghai in 1927.
Witness Lee was an early follower of Nee's. Nee and Lee met for the first time in Chefoo in 1932. In 1934, Lee moved to Shanghai to work with Nee. One of Lee's many responsibilities was editing Nee's publications. In the following years, Nee published many works and held regular conferences and trainings for church workers. Nee, Lee and other workers established over six hundred local churches throughout China and Southeast Asia before the Communist Revolution of 1949.

"Kanivin Thenthulli" - This documentary speaks in detail about the various miracles of Our Lady Rosa Mystica happening at the St Mary's Forane church in Thripunithura. As a sign of Her special presence here, honey flows from the statue of the Blessed Mother venerated as 'ROSA MYSTICA', the Mystical Rose. In the Spring of 1947 the Blessed Virgin appeared as 'ROSA MYSTICA' to Pierina Gilli, a nurse, at Montechiari close to the city Brescia in Northern Italy. Since then there were several apparitions of Rosa Mystica in that place and it became a famous centre of Marian Pilgrimage. In 2008 Very Rev. Dr. Jose Puthiyedath, the vicar or this church visited Montichiari and he brought with him a small statue of Rosa Mystica. One day he had an inspiration to pray with the statue for nine consecutive days. Thus he gave this statue to Mrs. Cicily(The lady shown in the video) , a pious woman and a fervent Marian devotee in the parish, to pray for nine consecutive days. She gladly accepted the mission and took the statue to her house on 5th of October, 2009. On October 7th while she was reciting the Rosary, she noticed honey flowing from the statue of Rosa Mystica. Heavenly fragrance emanated from the statue. She informed the Vicar and he came to her house along with the Assistant Vicar. They saw for themselves the wonderful happening, tasted the honey and found it real. Hearing about the miracle people began to crowd the house. On October 31, 2009 the statue was brought to the church with great devotion and enshrined on the altar. People started flowing to the church to pray and to see the wonder. Honey continues to flow from this miraculous statue since that day. It is collected by the priests in the church and given to the devotees who request for it. Thousands have taken the honey and many have reported wonderful cures and other miraculous results from the use of it. Their witness is attracting more and more people to this Marian Shrine. Thus the Divine Mother works her wonders as ROSA MYSTICA in this chosen spot of her motherly intervention. Mrs Cicily herself has received many graces and gifts from Jesus and Mother Mary. In a statement, Sime Darby Bhd said two panels from the North Tower of the hospital complex had been taken down in a 95-minute operation which began at 10am yesterday. "One of the panels has marks that some claim resemble artistic depictions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus," the company said. Some eyewitnesses also claimed to have seen another image forming on one of the windows below, which allegedly resembled the face of Jesus. The company stressed that the removal of the glass panels was carried out by professionals and due care was taken. "Church leaders and members of the Subang Jaya parish were present to witness the removal of the window panels," it said. The panels were moved to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang. Hundreds of people witnessed the removal process with many whipping out their handphones to record the event. In KLANG, Catholics turned up in droves at the church as word spread that the glass panels had been brought there. Both panels are being displayed in the chapel, located behind the church. Parish priest Rev Fr Michael Chua said the panels can be viewed by the public from 7am to 10pm daily. Catholics were seen clutching the rosary and silently praying. Many also took photographs of the panels. Retiree Michael Ghana said this was his fifth time viewing the image. He had gone to SDMC four times previously. "Today, the image is clearer than usual. It's a miracle," he said. Patimary Anthony Raju, 58, said she was very happy that the panels were moved to her parish church. "I can feel Mother Mary's presence when praying," she said. -

The structure of the church of Mary Magdalene Jerusalem reminds its visitors of Mother Russia or more precisely the Kremlin complex in Moscow. The Church has seven Onion shaped domes, each crowned by a tall gilded Russian orthodox cross. Above the entrance, there is a gabled roof with a circular blue mosaic framed in Gold depicting Mary Magdalene piously robed in white.
On the main wall we find a painted canvas that depicts Mary Magdalene handing an egg to the Emperor Tiberius. A cording to the legend Mary traveled to Rom to complain about Jesus unfair trial and sentence. She brought with her a white egg symbolizing Jesus pure soul. However, when she handed the egg to Tiberius the egg turned red, thus becoming a living symbol of Jesus' blood and resurrection. Quite possible that this is the source for the Easter tradition of dying eggs in red.
The most sacred item in this church, in a specially carved wooden icon-case, is the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God 'HODIGITRIA'. This icon came from a church in Lebanon back in the 16th century when it miraculously survived a fire that consumed the church. Later it healed many people during a cholera epidemic. To this day believers receive miraculous help from the Mother of God after praying before her holy icon.
Here in the marble sarcophagi, are the remains of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fyodorovna, granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England and the wife of the Grand Dukes Sergei who initiate the construction of this church during the 19th century.
The church stands in the Garden of Gethsemane, the place where Jesus spent His last night on earth. Also found on the convent grounds are the remnants of a pre-Roman road, the biblical entry to Jerusalem through which Jesus walked on during his procession into Jerusalem. Not far from this road is a large stone on to which the Mother of God dropped her cincture to Apostle Thomas on the third day following her Dormition.
There are many caves in the Garden of Gethsemane which the Church tells us were used by Christ and his Disciples for prayer. One large cave in the grounds of the convent is used as a chapel, where the sisters meet to read their evening prayer rule.

This page is devoted to the Church of the Milk Grotto, in Bethlehem, a place traditionally described as the site where the Virgin Mary stopped to breast feed the Baby Jesus during the flight to Egypt. "And after the wise men departed, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in sleep to Joseph, saying Arise, and take the child and his mother and fly into Egypt: and be there until I shall tell thee. For it will come to pass that Herod will seek the child to destroy him." Matthew II 13-19. A legend recalls how Mary spilt some milk while breast feeding baby Jesus thus turning the stone of this cave a "white stone" color. The church was built on this site and contains the "white stone rock"The powdery substance of this rock is evident to this very day. In Bethlehem this church has for long centuries been a traditional devotional site; the church which known as "Magharet el Saiyidee" in Arabic meaning The Grotto of our Lady, can be found southeast of the Basilica of the Nativity, this church is frequently visited by local women, Christians and Moslems alike, to ask for the intercession of Mary Mother of Jesus. This church was built by St. Paula, who lived in Bethlehem and died there in 404 A.D., this church was naturally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but at one time was called St. Paula (either by mistake by the builder or for one of the numerous other churches built in Bethlehem by St. Paula). In the 14th Century this church was known as the Church of St. Nicholas, as shown in a Papal Bull of Gregory XI in 1375, authorizing the Franciscans to rebuild it, which was not then done. The Franciscans first took possession of the church sometime after 1347 after they became caretakers of the Sanctuary of the Nativity. The soft white stones in this church were exported to many European churches under the name of The Virgin's Milk. It was one of these relics that Gerard III, Bishop of Bethlehem, took to the camp of King Baldwin III during the siege of Ascalon in 1153.
The present building around the Grotto was put up by the Franciscans in 1872, some of the old church mosaics and traces of original walls remain to this day. The church was extensively rebuilt, remodeled, and adorned with marble and hand cut sculptures, benches, icons, and engravings by Issa A. Michael Hazboun and sons in 1934-1935. Another tradition going back to the VII century is located at this site and is the burial place of the innocent children which were the victims killed by Herod the Great after Jesus' birth.

"Kanivin Thenthulli" - This documentary speaks in detail about the various miracles of Our Lady Rosa Mystica happening at the St Mary's Forane church in Thripunithura.
As a sign of Her special presence here, honey flows from the statue of the Blessed Mother venerated as 'ROSA MYSTICA', the Mystical Rose.
In the Spring of 1947 the Blessed Virgin appeared as 'ROSA MYSTICA' to Pierina Gilli, a nurse, at Montechiari close to the city Brescia in Northern Italy. Since then there were several apparitions of Rosa Mystica in that place and it became a famous centre of Marian Pilgrimage.
In 2008 Very Rev. Dr. Jose Puthiyedath, the vicar or this church visited Montichiari and he brought with him a small statue of Rosa Mystica. One day he had an inspiration to pray with the statue for nine consecutive days. Thus he gave this statue to Mrs. Cicily(The lady shown in the video) , a pious woman and a fervent Marian devotee in the parish, to pray for nine consecutive days. She gladly accepted the mission and took the statue to her house on 5th of October, 2009. On October 7th while she was reciting the Rosary, she noticed honey flowing from the statue of Rosa Mystica. Heavenly fragrance emanated from the statue. She informed the Vicar and he came to her house along with the Assistant Vicar. They saw for themselves the wonderful happening, tasted the honey and found it real. Hearing about the miracle people began to crowd the house. On October 31, 2009 the statue was brought to the church with great devotion and enshrined on the altar. People started flowing to the church to pray and to see the wonder.
Honey continues to flow from this miraculous statue since that day. It is collected by the priests in the church and given to the devotees who request for it. Thousands have taken the honey and many have reported wonderful cures and other miraculous results from the use of it. Their witness is attracting more and more people to this Marian Shrine. Thus the Divine Mother works her wonders as ROSA MYSTICA in this chosen spot of her motherly intervention.
Mrs Cicily herself has received many graces and gifts from Jesus and Mother Mary. She receives Stigmata on some days, has had various visions, and revelations. A statue of Rosa Mystica at her house weeps blood.

PETALING JAYA: The glass panel at the Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC), which has an image said to resemble the Virgin Mary, has been moved to a Catholic church in Klang.
In a statement, Sime Darby Bhd said two panels from the North Tower of the hospital complex had been taken down in a 95-minute operation which began at 10am yesterday.
"One of the panels has marks that some claim resemble artistic depictions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus," the company said.
Some eyewitnesses also claimed to have seen another image forming on one of the windows below, which allegedly resembled the face of Jesus.
The company stressed that the removal of the glass panels was carried out by professionals and due care was taken.
"Church leaders and members of the Subang Jaya parish were present to witness the removal of the window panels," it said.
The panels were moved to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang.
Hundreds of people witnessed the removal process with many whipping out their handphones to record the event.
In KLANG, Catholics turned up in droves at the church as word spread that the glass panels had been brought there.
Both panels are being displayed in the chapel, located behind the church.
Parish priest Rev Fr Michael Chua said the panels can be viewed by the public from 7am to 10pm daily.
Catholics were seen clutching the rosary and silently praying. Many also took photographs of the panels.
Retiree Michael Ghana said this was his fifth time viewing the image. He had gone to SDMC four times previously.
"Today, the image is clearer than usual. It's a miracle," he said.
Patimary Anthony Raju, 58, said she was very happy that the panels were moved to her parish church.
"I can feel Mother Mary's presence when praying," she said.

Hannah and Morgan had a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Church of St. Mary, followed by a classic reception at the new Downtown Aloft in Tulsa. But don't let that fool you into thinking it was a simple or subdued day. This group is full of life and personality, and they were constantly laughing. The day was full of fun details, most notably those at the reception; sun glasses, glow sticks, cotton candy, and a cigar roller. And The Stars band kept the party going strong.

Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. This page is devoted to the Church of the Milk Grotto, in Bethlehem, a place traditionally described as the site where the Virgin Mary stopped to breast feed the Baby Jesus during the flight to Egypt. "And after the wise men departed, behold an angel of the Lord appeared in sleep to Joseph, saying Arise, and take the child and his mother and fly into Egypt: and be there until I shall tell thee. For it will come to pass that Herod will seek the child to destroy him." Matthew II 13-19. A legend recalls how Mary spilt some milk while breast feeding baby Jesus thus turning the stone of this cave a "white stone" color. The church was built on this site and contains the "white stone rock"The powdery substance of this rock is evident to this very day. In Bethlehem this church has for long centuries been a traditional devotional site; the church which known as "Magharet el Saiyidee" in Arabic meaning The Grotto of our Lady, can be found southeast of the Basilica of the Nativity, this church is frequently visited by local women, Christians and Moslems alike, to ask for the intercession of Mary Mother of Jesus. This church was built by St. Paula, who lived in Bethlehem and died there in 404 A.D., this church was naturally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but at one time was called St. Paula (either by mistake by the builder or for one of the numerous other churches built in Bethlehem by St. Paula). In the 14th Century this church was known as the Church of St. Nicholas, as shown in a Papal Bull of Gregory XI in 1375, authorizing the Franciscans to rebuild it, which was not then done. The Franciscans first took possession of the church sometime after 1347 after they became caretakers of the Sanctuary of the Nativity. The soft white stones in this church were exported to many European churches under the name of The Virgin's Milk. It was one of these relics that Gerard III, Bishop of Bethlehem, took to the camp of King Baldwin III during the siege of Ascalon in 1153.
The present building around the Grotto was put up by the Franciscans in 1872, some of the old church mosaics and traces of original walls remain to this day. The church was extensively rebuilt, remodeled, and adorned with marble and hand cut sculptures, benches, icons, and engravings by Issa A. Michael Hazboun and sons in 1934-1935. Another tradition going back to the VII century is located at this site and is the burial place of the innocent children which were the victims killed by Herod the Great after Jesus' birth.

With its pink marble façade, the Early Baroque Franciscan Church Of Mary dominates the square. The Dom Church Stolnica was built according to the design of Venetian, Andrea Pozzo in the 17th century. The interior of this Baroque church is quite overwhelming and with great attention to detail. Situated on the four hundred metre high Castle Hill, the Slovenian Acropolis was once inhabited by the Illyrians and Celts. The Roman watchtower later became both a strategic fortress and castle. A triumphal arch marks the entrance to the Žale Cemetery on the northeast edge of the city with a number of fine, richly decorated chapels. Here Jože Plečnik created a masterpiece that represented the transition from the world of the living, to the world of the dead. Columns flank the main path up to Tivoli Castle that was built by the Jesuits in the seventeenth century and soon became a summer residence of the bishops. Romantic lakes with water fowl and pretty flowers embellish the park, once the home of Field Marshal Radetzky. Ljubljana is a city of joie de vivre and pleasure where the Middle Ages, Baroque and Art Nouveau meet with the relaxed lifestyle of the south!

My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this "calling" in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Completed in 1930, the Shrine at Lourdes exists in reinforced concrete form at Inchicore in Dublin. Measuring 50 feet in height, 130 feet in width and with a depth of 40 feet, the Grotto provides an opportunity for those unable to travel to France to express their devotion to Our Lady Immaculate. Located behind the Church of Mary Immaculate, this architectural oddity, its dimensions which match the original in South West France, remains relatively unknown here in Ireland.

The structure of the church of Mary Magdalene Jerusalem reminds its visitors of Mother Russia or more precisely the Kremlin complex in Moscow. The Church has seven Onion shaped domes, each crowned by a tall gilded Russian orthodox cross. Above the entrance, there is a gabled roof with a circular blue mosaic framed in Gold depicting Mary Magdalene piously robed in white.
On the main wall we find a painted canvas that depicts Mary Magdalene handing an egg to the Emperor Tiberius. A cording to the legend Mary traveled to Rom to complain about Jesus unfair trial and sentence. She brought with her a white egg symbolizing Jesus pure soul. However, when she handed the egg to Tiberius the egg turned red, thus becoming a living symbol of Jesus' blood and resurrection. Quite possible that this is the source for the Easter tradition of dying eggs in red.
The most sacred item in this church, in a specially carved wooden icon-case, is the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God 'HODIGITRIA'. This icon came from a church in Lebanon back in the 16th century when it miraculously survived a fire that consumed the church. Later it healed many people during a cholera epidemic. To this day believers receive miraculous help from the Mother of God after praying before her holy icon.
Here in the marble sarcophagi, are the remains of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Fyodorovna, granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England and the wife of the Grand Dukes Sergei who initiate the construction of this church during the 19th century.
The church stands in the Garden of Gethsemane, the place where Jesus spent His last night on earth. Also found on the convent grounds are the remnants of a pre-Roman road, the biblical entry to Jerusalem through which Jesus walked on during his procession into Jerusalem. Not far from this road is a large stone on to which the Mother of God dropped her cincture to Apostle Thomas on the third day following her Dormition.
There are many caves in the Garden of Gethsemane which the Church tells us were used by Christ and his Disciples for prayer. One large cave in the grounds of the convent is used as a chapel, where the sisters meet to read their evening prayer rule.

This church was built by St. Paula, who lived in Bethlehem and died there in 404 A.D., this church was naturally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but at one time was called St. Paula (either by mistake by the builder or for one of the numerous other churches built in Bethlehem by St. Paula). In the 14th Century this church was known as the Church of St. Nicholas, as shown in a Papal Bull of Gregory XI in 1375, authorizing the Franciscans to rebuild it, which was not then done. The Franciscans first took possession of the church sometime after 1347 after they became caretakers of the Sanctuary of the Nativity. The soft white stones in this church were exported to many European churches under the name of The Virgin's Milk. It was one of these relics that Gerard III, Bishop of Bethlehem, took to the camp of King Baldwin III during the siege of Ascalon in 1153.
The present building around the Grotto was put up by the Franciscans in 1872, some of the old church mosaics and traces of original walls remain to this day. The church was extensively rebuilt, remodeled, and adorned with marble and hand cut sculptures, benches, icons, and engravings by Issa A. Michael Hazboun and sons in 1934-1935. Another tradition going back to the VII century is located at this site and is the burial place of the innocent children which were the victims killed by Herod the Great after Jesus' birth.

This church was built by St. Paula, who lived in Bethlehem and died there in 404 A.D., this church was naturally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, but at one time was called St. Paula (either by mistake by the builder or for one of the numerous other churches built in Bethlehem by St. Paula). In the 14th Century this church was known as the Church of St. Nicholas, as shown in a Papal Bull of Gregory XI in 1375, authorizing the Franciscans to rebuild it, which was not then done. The Franciscans first took possession of the church sometime after 1347 after they became caretakers of the Sanctuary of the Nativity. The soft white stones in this church were exported to many European churches under the name of The Virgin's Milk. It was one of these relics that Gerard III, Bishop of Bethlehem, took to the camp of King Baldwin III during the siege of Ascalon in 1153.
The present building around the Grotto was put up by the Franciscans in 1872, some of the old church mosaics and traces of original walls remain to this day. The church was extensively rebuilt, remodeled, and adorned with marble and hand cut sculptures, benches, icons, and engravings by Issa A. Michael Hazboun and sons in 1934-1935. Another tradition going back to the VII century is located at this site and is the burial place of the innocent children which were the victims killed by Herod the Great after Jesus' birth.

"Kanivin Thenthulli" - This documentary speaks in detail about the various miracles of Our Lady Rosa Mystica happening at the St Mary's Forane church in Thripunithura.
As a sign of Her special presence here, honey flows from the statue of the Blessed Mother venerated as 'ROSA MYSTICA', the Mystical Rose.
In the Spring of 1947 the Blessed Virgin appeared as 'ROSA MYSTICA' to Pierina Gilli, a nurse, at Montechiari close to the city Brescia in Northern Italy. Since then there were several apparitions of Rosa Mystica in that place and it became a famous centre of Marian Pilgrimage.
In 2008 Very Rev. Dr. Jose Puthiyedath, the vicar or this church visited Montichiari and he brought with him a small statue of Rosa Mystica. One day he had an inspiration to pray with the statue for nine consecutive days. Thus he gave this statue to Mrs. Cicily(The lady shown in the video) , a pious woman and a fervent Marian devotee in the parish, to pray for nine consecutive days. She gladly accepted the mission and took the statue to her house on 5th of October, 2009. On October 7th while she was reciting the Rosary, she noticed honey flowing from the statue of Rosa Mystica. Heavenly fragrance emanated from the statue. She informed the Vicar and he came to her house along with the Assistant Vicar. They saw for themselves the wonderful happening, tasted the honey and found it real. Hearing about the miracle people began to crowd the house. On October 31, 2009 the statue was brought to the church with great devotion and enshrined on the altar. People started flowing to the church to pray and to see the wonder.
Honey continues to flow from this miraculous statue since that day. It is collected by the priests in the church and given to the devotees who request for it. Thousands have taken the honey and many have reported wonderful cures and other miraculous results from the use of it. Their witness is attracting more and more people to this Marian Shrine. Thus the Divine Mother works her wonders as ROSA MYSTICA in this chosen spot of her motherly intervention.
Mrs Cicily herself has received many graces and gifts from Jesus and Mother Mary. She receives Stigmata on some days, has had various visions, and revelations. A statue of Rosa Mystica at her house weeps blood.

PETALING JAYA: The glass panel at the Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC), which has an image said to resemble the Virgin Mary, has been moved to a Catholic church in Klang.
In a statement, Sime Darby Bhd said two panels from the North Tower of the hospital complex had been taken down in a 95-minute operation which began at 10am yesterday.
"One of the panels has marks that some claim resemble artistic depictions of Mary, the Mother of Jesus," the company said.
Some eyewitnesses also claimed to have seen another image forming on one of the windows below, which allegedly resembled the face of Jesus.
The company stressed that the removal of the glass panels was carried out by professionals and due care was taken.
"Church leaders and members of the Subang Jaya parish were present to witness the removal of the window panels," it said.
The panels were moved to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang.
Hundreds of people witnessed the removal process with many whipping out their handphones to record the event.
In KLANG, Catholics turned up in droves at the church as word spread that the glass panels had been brought there.
Both panels are being displayed in the chapel, located behind the church.
Parish priest Rev Fr Michael Chua said the panels can be viewed by the public from 7am to 10pm daily.
Catholics were seen clutching the rosary and silently praying. Many also took photographs of the panels.
Retiree Michael Ghana said this was his fifth time viewing the image. He had gone to SDMC four times previously.
"Today, the image is clearer than usual. It's a miracle," he said.
Patimary Anthony Raju, 58, said she was very happy that the panels were moved to her parish church.
"I can feel Mother Mary's presence when praying," she said.
