JCTV (Jesus Christ Television) is a young adult television network devoted to music videos, owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network. It is similar to MTV, but with a Christian focus.

JCTV combines music videos, youthful video jockeys, promotion of special Christian rock events, and news and documentaries about Christian bands and performers in an effort to establish popularity among Christian youth. JCTV also has numerous extreme sports shows that document extreme sports athletes and how their faith impacts their lives. In addition to music-based and action sports programming, JCTV also airs other programming such as the discussion program Ask God, the game show Virtual Memory with Jamie Alexander and the religious sitcom Pastor Greg; JCTV also airs Christian movies, typically on Sunday evenings, Thursday and Friday afternoons and certain late nights during the week. JCTV airs "sneak preview" blocks of its programming on TBN on Friday and Saturday late nights.

JCTV is currently available through various cable services nationwide as well as via digital multicasting in some US cities and all across North and Central America on Glorystar with the K_u band Galaxy 19 satellite and on C-Band Galaxy 14 satellite. The network is also available via streaming video on their official website as well as on iPad, iPod and other mobile devices.

This and other Trinity networks are broadcast internationally free to air via satellites such as ABS1 to India and Middle East on K_u band, Intelsat 701 and DTH to Australia and New Zealand on Optus B3 and also to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East via Eutelsat (Hotbird 13°E) and Agila 2 satellite (both C-band and K_u band signal) in Asia and the Philippines.

Some JCTV programming can also be seen on Grace TV in Canada and on Trinity Broadcast Network Europe.

JCTV began broadcasting in June 2003. Based out of TBN's headquarters in Santa Ana, California, the network is delivering all programmings worldwide, covering parts of North America, Europe, Asia, and South America.

The channel was originally founded by Paul Crouch, Jr. and his son, Brandon Crouch with the intentions of airing new programs, new teen shows, and specials for the Christian youth of today, throughout the world.

Gospel Gangstaz is a Grammy-nominated Christian rap group from Compton and South Central, Los Angeles. The group has featured members formerly affiliated with the Crips and Bloods gangs, Mr. Solo, Chilly Baby, DJ Dove and Tik Tokk.

Biography[link]

The group is known for their unique combination of musical talent and Christian lifestyle, as evidenced in their songs. The group's founder, Mr. Solo became a Christian after he almost died in a gang-related shooting. In an interview Mr. Solo said of the Gospel Gangstaz:

In 1994, the trio released their debut album, Gang Affiliated. In winter of 1996, the group's follow up, Do or Die was released. But their third album I Can See Clearly Now released in 1999 was their debut CD on B-Rite, a major label. The album received a Grammy nomination in the Best Rock Gospel Album category.^[2] Other releases from the group include All Mixed UP 2000, The Exodus 2002 and The Flood 2006.

They are currently working on a film and soundtrack entitled Street Disciples.

In July 2006, ex-member Tik Tokk was arrested on murder charges.^[3]

The Gospel Gangstaz have long been known for their ministry focused toward spreading the love of Christ to young men and women with violent pasts or drug problems. When asked about the announcement that Tik Tokk, a former member of the Gospel Gangstaz, had been arrested on July 6th for his alleged involvement in a Bibb County, GA shooting, Chille’ Baby said, “It was a major, major shock.”

Professionally, Mr. Solo and Chille’ Baby have not been associated with Tik Tokk since 2003. They gave him their blessing when he asked to leave the group over a year and a half ago. They have not recorded with him since then and Tik Tokk has not performed with the group for years. Mr. Solo explained that when he and Tik Tokk first met, he felt he was drawn to minister to Tik Tokk much in the same way that he wanted to minister to others with troubled and violent pasts. When asked about the future of the Gangstaz, Mr. Solo said, “We are moving on with our ministry with the vision God has given us. Even though Tik Tokk parted from the Gospel Gangstaz, our heart still goes out to him, as well as the families of the victims."

The Gospel Gangstaz have teamed up with some of the biggest names in Gospel music including Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary.

Tamera Darvette Mowry-Housley (born July 6, 1978) is an American actress. She first gained fame for her teen role as Tamera Campbell on the ABC/WB sitcom Sister, Sister (opposite her identical twin sister Tia Mowry). She starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches and its sequel, Twitches Too. She has also made a break into dramatic television, and is also known for her role as Dr. Kayla Thorton on the medical drama Strong Medicine. Tamera Mowry was born in Gelnhausen, West Germany to Darlene Mowry (née Flowers), who managed her children's careers and also worked as a security guard, and Timothy Mowry, who was in the U.S. Army at the time of her birth and later became a custody officer/jailer with the City of Glendale Police Department when the family moved to California.^[1][2][3]

Darlene, who is Bahamian American, and Timothy, who is English American, met in high school in Miami, Florida. Tamera Mowry married Fox News Correspondent Adam Housley^[7] after dating for almost six years. Confirmed by Mowry while being interviewed on The Wendy Williams Show, they married on May 15, 2011 and her dress was designed by Carolina Herrera. They married at the Vintage Estate in Yountville, California (Villagio Inn and Spa) in California's Napa Valley. In April 2012, Mowry confirmed that she and her husband are expecting their first child in the fall of 2012.^[8][9]

Lila Grace Rose (born July 27, 1988)^[5] is an American pro-life activist and the founder of the pro-life group Live Action. She is known for a series of campaigns against affiliated facilities of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Biography[link]

Rose was raised in San Jose, California, the third of eight children of an engineer at Sun Microsystems.^[1] She was home-schooled through to the end of high school, and was a history major at the University of California, Los Angeles.^[1] She is a devout Catholic.^[3]

Rose founded the pro-life group Live Action when she was 15 and continued her activism at UCLA.^[6] Rose has attended workshops at the conservative, non-profit Leadership Institute.^[3] In 2009, as an invited speaker at the Values Voters Summit, she suggested that abortions should be performed in the public square until the "public tired of seeing them and did away with the injustice altogether."^[6]

In 2008, she was personally awarded $50,000 in the annual "Life Prizes" awards, sponsored by the Gerard Health Foundation, a pro-life charity.^[6][7] She also received the "Person of the Year Malachi Award" from Operation Rescue that same year.^[8] In 2009, she was named a "Young Leader" by the pro-life non-profit Susan B. Anthony List.^[6]

Activism[link]

At the age of 15, Rose founded Live Action and began giving presentations to schools and youth groups.^[1] She and conservative activist James O’Keefe III found inspiration in activist Saul Alinsky's grassroots organizing handbook "Rules for Radicals."^[1] After further inspiration by Texas activist Mark Crutcher's taping of calls to Planned Parenthood clinics featuring women posing as pregnant minors, they came up with the idea to visit in the fall of 2006 several Planned Parenthood clinics wearing secret video cameras.^[8] Rose has conducted stings at Planned Parenthood clinics in and around several major cities since then. Her activism has focused on issues such as the high abortion rate in the African-American community – an effort that has received support from Alveda King^[3] – to protest Planned Parenthood's providing of abortion services. Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in the United States.^[1][9][10]

The pretenses used in her undercover operations are diverse and include such things as Rose acting the part of a minor impregnated by a 23-year old male. While using this persona, she claimed that staff at Planned Parenthood clinics advised her to lie about her age and ignored her partner's age.^[11] Rose also released recordings of O'Keefe attempting to elicit racially charged responses from clinic staff by offering donations to pay for abortions for black women.^[12] Another act had Rose posing as a 13-year-old minor impregnated by a 31-year-old man. When told she would need parental consent and must name the father, Rose balks. At first, the staff member says it must be reported to Child Protective Services, but after a minute of silence the staff member is heard saying "Okay, I didn't hear the age. I don't want to know the age. It could be reported as rape. And that's child abuse."^[1]

Rose shot an undercover video at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Birmingham, Alabama which resulted in the state placing the clinic on probation for a year.^[13][14]

Rose was featured in the 2010 CNN documentary Right on the Edge, which spotlighted young conservative activists.^[15]

2011 undercover videos[link]

In February 2011, Rose released undercover videos filmed in several different cities showing an unidentified man and a woman posing as a pimp and a prostitute soliciting advice from Planned Parenthood clinic workers on how to procure abortions and birth control for underage prostitutes.^[16][17] Rose said the videos prove Planned Parenthood intentionally breaks laws and covers up abuse.^[9] In response to the videos, Planned Parenthood has reaffirmed its Zero Tolerance policy for situations in which minors are endangered and its commitment to states' mandatory reporting laws for underage girls.^[18] Planned Parenthood reported to the FBI at least 12 visits to its clinics by the man in the video several days after the videos were recorded but prior to their public release.^[19]

There have been no criminal charges or investigations resulting from the videos. Attorney General of Virginia Ken Cuccinelli said at one time he might investigate Planned Parenthood as a result of the videos, but he conceded during a Fox interview that he lacks "an actual case of it on film" — meaning a case that involves victims instead of actors pretending to run a sex-slave business. Cuccinelli went on to say, "But what you do have is clearly an open willingness of several organizations, meaning subsidiaries of Planned Parenthood nationally in the same category, sex trafficking of minors, and an open willingness to participate in this."^[20] But Live Action national counsel Peter Breen said an actual case is not needed, comparing the undercover journalism in the videos to that of NBC's To Catch a Predator.^[20] At the Federal level, United States Attorney General Eric Holder has declined to pursue charges against Planned Parenthood, stating "It is my understanding that the FBI actually has looked at that matter" and "prosecution was declined in that matter".^[21]

Adam Moss is an American magazine and newspaper editor. Since 2004, he has been the editor-in-chief of New York magazine. Under his editorship, New York has repeatedly been recognized for excellence, notably winning five National Magazine Awards in 2007.^[1] In 2010 the magazine won National Magazine Awards for General Excellence in both its print circulation class (250,000 – 500,000) and in Digital Media for its website nymag.com.^[2] Overall, New York has won more National Magazine Awards under his tenure than any other magazine.^[3][4] During this period, he oversaw the development and growth of New York's website into one repeatedly recognized as among the industry's most innovative and successful.^[5]

Before coming to New York, Moss worked at the New York Times, where he edited the New York Times Magazine and served as the paper's assistant managing editor for features, overseeing the Magazine, Book Review, Culture and Style sections. He brought to the Times a magazine sensibility. "Moss became a guru of this change – an anti-Times sort of figure in the middle of the Times. A magazine person at a newspaper, an openly gay person in a repressed atmosphere, a mild man among bullies and screamers," described media writer, Michael Wolff, in a 1999 profile of Moss in New York magazine.^[6] When Ad Age named him Editor of the Year in 2001, the writer Jon Fine called the Times Magazine "one of the best reads in the business. Mr. Moss smartly and subtly remade the title, from its photography to front of the book, all the while navigating the internal culture of the Times. Under his watch, it became a showcase for thoughtful, long-form journalism. Like few other magazines, it thrives a few steps to the side of celeb-saturated culture and a few steps beyond the typical political polarities.”^[7] Moss shifted the balance of writers from Times staffers to nonfiction writers experienced in magazine journalism. During his time there, the magazine included as regular contributors Michael Lewis, Andrew Sullivan, Michael Pollan, Lynn Hirschberg, Jennifer Egan, and Frank Rich, among others.

In 2001, the writer Michael Finkel was discovered to have created composite characters for a story he had written on the African slave trade, a small scandal that was quickly eclipsed at the New York Times by the much-larger one involving Jayson Blair. After 9/11, Moss and the Times Magazine created an issue of the magazine called “Remains of the Day”^[8] that was published online in its entirety that Friday, the first time the magazine published in digital form before print. Its 2001 story “One Awful Night in Thanh Phong”^[9] revealed former senator and one-time presidential candidate Bob Kerrey to have led a particularly brutal attack on a peasant village in Vietnam that one of his fellow team members described in terms that invoked some similarities to the My-Lai massacre. Mr. Kerrey disputed the characterization.^[10] The story was nominated that year for a Pulitzer Prize.

Previous jobs also included six years in various editorial capacities at Esquire magazine. Northwestern journalism professor David Abrahmson credits Moss's work at Esquire in assigning a series of pieces on the business of entertainment with "having a serious effect on what we all regard as the normal content of the mainstream media today, with its unremitting emphasis on not only celebrity, but also the economics of the celebrity-driven industries."^[11] He first came to media attention as the founder of 7 Days, a magazine covering New York City arts and culture. Founded in 1988, it went out of business during the publishing-business recession of 1990. According to Wolff in his New York magazine profile: "It is hard to overstate what kind of magazine-world hero Moss became with 7 Days and its particular pop-culture idiom, and what kind of success failure can be."^[6] A 2003 profile of Moss in the Oberlin alumni magazine notes, "Concepts introduced by Moss in 7 Days would later insinuate themselves into the Times (take the wedding narratives in the Sunday Styles section; visceral stuff cleverly packaged)."^[12] In turn, "7 Days" was strongly influenced by "The White Pond Gazeteer," a privately published special interest magazine.

In his first year at New York, Moss completed an extensive renovation of the weekly magazine emphasizing an enhanced commitment to covering the city's cultural happenings (in "The Culture Pages") and introducing the "Strategist" section, a fun and indispensable urban sourcebook. At the time, Moss told Women's Wear Daily, "A lot of what we're doing with all of this renovation is actually restoration. Going back to the vault in various places during various eras of the magazine and trying to...modernize it and make sense of our time." Moss has launched new columns (John Heilemann's "The Power Grid" among them), ushered in a new generation of writers and photographers, and increased the magazine's political and business coverage. Moss is widely credited with restoring the luster the magazine enjoyed during its early years under legendary founder Clay Felker. "New York gives you an opportunity to talk about pretty much anything, all funneled through a single topic that its readers are passionate about, which is New York," Moss told Crain's New York Business in 2007. "That's the formula Clay Felker invented, and it's a great one."^[13]

Digital Expansion[link]

In 2006 Moss oversaw a year-long relaunch of the magazine's website, nymag.com, transforming it from a magazine companion site into a redesigned, up-to-the minute news and information site. Monthly unique users at the site have more than tripled since then, to an average of over 7 million. Washington Post media critic Howard Kurtz noted in a 2009 profile, "Moss' signature accomplishment may be the development of a thriving Web site."^[14]

In a tribute to the magazine's late owner Bruce Wasserstein, the New York Times media critic David Carr wrote, "Mr. Wasserstein gets credit for selecting Adam Moss, the former editor of the New York Times Magazine, who has demonstrated significant skills in putting the magazine and its Web site in the middle of the Manhattan conversation, but Mr. Wasserstein gets even more credit for staying out of the way and allowing Mr. Moss and his colleagues to do their jobs."^[15] Almost a year later, in another one of his Times columns, Carr remarked, "One of the charms of the publishing business is that a single person can have an outsize effect, and many would suggest that Mr. Moss, with his deft hand for provocative covers and smart assignments, is one of the best editors working in a hybrid age."^[16]

The Wrap once noted: "Since this category [ASME’s Magazine of the Year] honors 'publications that successfully use both print and digital media in fulfilling the editorial mission of the magazine' I wouldn’t be surprised if the Atlantic won – they’ve transformed themselves from a dusty old magazine into a robust, multiplatform media company (“magabrand”?) in the last few years. But New York got there first, and – as evidenced by their victory in ASME’s first ever digital Ellie for general excellence in March—is still the industry standard of magazines on the Web.”^[17]

During his tenure New York won 15 National Magazine Awards (more than any other publication over this time period), including three for General Excellence in print and two for General Excellence online, as well as awards for Profile Writing, Personal Service, and two each for the magazine's design, Strategist section, Leisure Interests, and online fashion coverage.^[18]

Moss was twice named Editor of the Year by Advertising Age – in 2007 for his work at New York^[19] and in 2001 for his work at the New York Times Magazine.
