Prototype Of Turkey's First Domestic Tank "ALTAY" Test Driving
The prototype of the country's first domestically manufactured tank, the Altay, was tested in Sakarya province on Friday. Under the Altay tank project, launched by the Undersecretariat for the Defense Industry (SSM), Turkey's first national tank will be built by Koç Holding's Otokar in cooperation with Hyundai Rotem and Germany's MTU. The design phase of the tank is now complete, and the first prototype was tested out in Sakarya's Arifiye district where Otokar established Turkey's first test center for tanks. SSM officials were there to observe the first test drive.Defense authorities had allocated $500 million to fund the production of the prototype. The tank's modular shield was designed by Turkey's Roketsan, while MTU will provide the diesel engines. Hyundai Rotem will contribute technological support, while the tank's main artillery system will be produced by the state-owned Turkish Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK). ASELSAN, a defense industry giant that produces technology for the Turkish military, will design the tank's munitions control system. Otokar expects to start mass producing Turkey's first domestically manufactured tanks at either the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017. The tank will have a 120 millimeter smoothbore gun and will be protected against biological, chemical and radioactive attacks. The planned maximum speed is set at 70 kilometers per hour, thanks to a 1800 horsepower engine. Otokar has been in the defense industry for 21 ...

Dr. Curtis Duncan is a holistic health expert, herbalist and avid researcher. He will discuss the feminization of males and the chemicals that are behind the reason why testosterone levels have been declining, impotence, dropped sperm counts, smaller penises, genital birth defects, autism, ADHD, cancer, low libido and more. These chemicals also have gender bending effects and cause men to act and behave like women and women to act and behave like men, even altering sexual preference. We'll also discuss the estrogen mimicking chemicals that are behind female infertility, miscarriages, cancer and more. Curtis talks about the endocrine system, endocrine disrupting chemicals, the companies and people behind gender bending chemicals, chemical effects on sexuality and the conspiracy behind it all. www.redicecreations.com

Making Methane From Microbes
Microbes that convert electricity into methane could become an important source of renewable energy, according to Stanford Professor Alfred Spormann. His lab is raising colonies of microorganisms that use electrical energy to transform atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) into pure methane, the key ingredient in natural gas. The goal is to create microbial factories that will transform clean electricity from solar and wind power into methane fuel and valuable chemical compounds for industry. The process is carbon neutral, because all of the CO2 released during combustion is recycled back into the atmosphere where it came from. Oil'd
In April 2010 a massive oil spill began in the Gulf. The entire country was glued to the news until the well was capped, and then we forgot about it.
As the year anniversary was approaching I became curious, just how much oil was that exactly? Where would it have gone? What I found was shocking.
So in an effort to further our discussion on oil dependency I created this short animation to help illustrate just how dependent we truly are on oil.

Chemical Brothers 'Velodrome' - London 2012
Crystal has created a three minute animated sequence for the song’s promotional video to match its heart-pounding rhythms. Played in the Velodrome before every session the video shows the Velodrome as never before, literally pulsating with excitement.
“We’ve created sweeping contours and sleek surfaces as the backdrop for an intense, futuristic cycling ‘duel’ as two animated riders power round the track,” said Darren Groucutt, creative director at Crystal. “It truly brings the Velodrome to life.”
James O’Brien, LOCOG Head of Sports Presentation, said: ‘Inspiring people to engage with sport has always been central to our vision and we want to ensure the way we present sport adds to the experience of the spectators in the venues and builds the atmosphere. This will be a special summer and we are grateful to everyone who has given their time and expertise over the past years.’

euronews science - Eco-dye: could fungi become next seasons colour?
www.euronews.com Have you ever stopped to think about the effect clothes dye has on the environment? Most people have not but we all complain when the colours on our favourite outfits start to fade. For more than 60 years the chemical industry has been producing dyes using concentrated acids and nitrates. However, up to 15 percent of these harmful colorants are released into the environment when colours run in the wash and so to combat this, Biochemist Estelle Enaud has been studying ways we can use fungi as an alternative, natural colorant. At the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, she works within the EU-funded research project SOPHIED, testing the fungi's enzymes to create "eco dyes". "Enzymes are proteins produced by the fungus. They're nano catalysts. This means they're tiny particles that are capable of accelerating reactions," she said. To extract these nano catalysts the scientists cut the fungi into small pieces and put them into a liquid that contains nutrients. By keeping the specimen in a warm chamber, the fungi grows and releases the desired nano-sized proteins. When the fluid and the proteins are added to an acidic solution, the transparent liquid turns into colourful dyes without the need for any dangerous chemical reactions. The small enzymes help to trigger a safe chemical reaction between two different ingredients. Then, the solution turns red, yellow or purple, depending on the components. "You'd expect us to be able to make all the colours of ...
