Cessna 182 airplane emergency engine failure & crash landing 10-23-12
Routine pleasure flight cut extremely short. Fortunately for me, 200agl ruled out a turn attempt although I had the natural urge to try for a split second. FAA still working on cause. Possible ignition or induction system. Site examination ruled out bad fuel, mags, separated engine components. Everything under cowling was intact. Typical pilot error components confirmed not an issue with the video. Checked primer locked once stopped, so also non-issue. Happy to be alive.

Cessna 172SP Pattern OWD 10-8-11 "The Downwind 360"
This is a video that documents a slightly unusual pattern during practice at Norwood (KOWD). I decided to include part of the run-up in this video and it starts after I had gone through some of the checklist. There were some faster planes departing Norwood at the time and so I offered to begin my run-up on a connecting taxiway while the jets passed me on their way to the active runway. So when this video begins, I had done some of the run-up in the Cessna 172SP but you'll hear me given instruction by ground to proceed to the runway to finish things before takeoff. Once out there I finish the run-up checklist and it's important to note that after I call the tower for takeoff, he mistakenly starts to call be a Cherokee, and then catches himself. This becomes relevant a little while later. So I'm cleared for the pattern and I head out. It's a right pattern for 35 at Norwood, and on the downwind as I'm getting things stable, just before making my mid-field call, there is a call from the tower to Cherokee 2081-Sierra. As you will see, I don't answer. I remember wondering how I had missed that call, but now it's clear that I automatically ignored it because it began with Cherokee. A few seconds later he calls me back with call sign only and we get things straightened away. Because of traffic, the tower asked me to do a 360 in the patter for spacing. Not sure I'd ever done this before, but it made sense and as a bonus, it now gives you a better view of Boston in the distance and ...

Flying the Cessna TTX
What started life as a Columbia and then became a Corvalis is now the Cessna Corvalis TTX. While it hosts many small improvements, the big change is the touchscreen-controlled G2000 avionics suite. Aviation Consumer's Jeff Van West took the pixels and the plane up for a spin.

Cessna 182
Even if you're not training for tip stalling you still need to be training for tip stalling because these Cessnas are going to tip stall! What I'm saying is, the most common ways guys total their RC Cessna's is they are going a bit too slow in the turns and one wing finally drops below the threshold of sufficient lift and then the wing just drops. This flips the opposite wing up and rolls the plane over. A split second later the nose is facing straight down and now the death roll starts. The pilot guns the throttle because he's now falling and needs to generate airspeed again, but the ground is coming up fast so he yanks back on the elevator which shoves the tail down and the wing back up to a higher angle of attack. This now stalls the wing again and now you have more power and speed heading into the ground! Your only option left is to hand the control to your buddy and then try and blame it all on him. The way to conquer the dreaded tip stall is to get "2 mistakes high" in altitude (as I high as you can accurately see) and then purposely go slow in the turns until it does tip stall! You then want to cut the throttle to 25%, let go of all the sticks, and let the plane drop and settle itself. If the plane is slightly nose heavy it will do this naturally faster on its own as the heavier nose drops first and the lighter tail moves to the back. You now start to gradually increase throttle as you are gently pulling back on the elevator. Done right the plane starts moving fast ...

My First Introductory/Discovery Flight in "Cessna 172"!
My First Discovery/Introductory Flight was in Cessna 172S with "Heritage Flight Academy" ! It was FUN, but scary and felt throwing up in the air as If I was being tossed every way around without having any control, like being in a small board, floating on the water, and having or feeling the "Sea Sick", so I guess I would call "Air Sick", and which I heard that last about 2 to 4 hours, and then It becomes better as If we are getting used to it. Anyway, It felt good being there and learning all the things, along facing the pressure of my heart being crushed, but with the help and reliable flying of my flight instructor, it was helpful to be with. He was flying smooth even though, the airplane was shaky in the air and trembling too much because of the air........... My brother was sitting behind and recording everything that's being showed in this video, right now. He was scared too, but I was more due to sitting in front because It feels more pressure and more available sight of everything around and so....... It was fun! Two Fatal Cessna 150 Airplane Crash Filmed From Cockpit
www.stevewilsonblog.com Pilot and passenger are killed from ground impact after a low altitude stall from pitching up to clear power lines. NTSB Report FTW94FA140 THE PILOT HAD RENTED THE AIRPLANE AND WAS TAKING A FRIEND ON A LOCAL PERSONAL FLIGHT. VIDEO TAPE RECOVERED FROM THE AIRPLANE SHOWED THE AIRPLANE FLYING OVER OPEN FIELDS AT ABOUT 10 FEET AGL. IN THE FINAL SEGMENT OF THE TAPE, A POWER LINE CAME INTO VIEW AND THE COMMENT 'UNDER OR OVER' WAS HEARD, FOLLOWED BY 'OVER.' THE TAPE THEN SHOWED A STEEP PULL UP, FOLLOWED BY STALL WARNING ACTIVATION, A LEFT ROTATION, AND A VERTICAL VIEW OF THE GROUND UNTIL IMPACT. GROUND WITNESSES CONFIRMED THE FINAL MANEUVER. THE VIDEO SHOWED ALL ENGINE INSTRUMENTS WITHIN PARAMETERS AS LATE AS 13 SECONDS BEFORE IMPACT. The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows: THE PILOT'S INADVERTENT STALL DURING THE PULL UP. FACTORS WERE THE LOW PASS, HIS OSTENTATIOUS DISPLAY, AND HIS INABILITY TO RECOVER FROM THE STALL DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ALTITUDE. More: stevewilsonblog.com

UFO and Cessna Nearly Collide in Peru UFO Sightings January 1, 2011
NEW HD VERSION LINK www.youtube.com On January 1. 2011 a couple of medical professionals on a trip to Peru, took the first early morning flight on a small Cesna aircraft to view the famous Nazca Lines. This video was taken from the plane window during the viewing of the lines. The weather was absolutely perfect, as it usually is in this part of the desert. From out of no where, the plane was overtaken by a large dark dense set of clouds. The passengers described fear as the captain of the plane asked them to brace themselves against the immenent turbulance. The small craft was soon entirely engulfed by the clouds. The man videoing the Nazca Lines kept the camera rolling as they passed through the clouds. Unknown to the tourist was the disk that passed unsafely close to the plane. He did not notice it until they returned to their room later on in the morning and viewed the tape. He was so shocked at what he had seen that he uploaded segments of the flight and shared them to be viewed by others. At this time the tourist is still in Peru for another 10 days and will not be available for questions until he comes back to the US.
