Their Myspace says they're alt rock, but this song in my oppinion has a sense of urgency similar to At The Drive-In, Rites Of Spring and Further Seems Forever.

As I take the disc out of its case it appears to be just a normal CD-R, with The Coalfield scrawled on it in black marker pen. Sure enough, for the first 32 seconds the music sounds faint, un-mastered, under-produced - 4-track quality rock. Maybe it is_ just a CD-R copy -- after all, this is a pro...m...m...m... BAM!_ There -- right _there _-- the 33rd second -- that's where it all kicks off! Like a huge punch in the gut from the entire New Zealand rugby team. And their mascot. I should have known. I should have been prepared for it. After all, I was left with goosebumps when Catharsis pulled off the same stunt. Only now, I seem to have goosebumps on my goosebumps. And it feels good. Now let's rewind and really turn it up this time! This is the debut album from Germany's The Coalfield, who are undoubtedly, and unsurprisingly, influenced by the European hardcore scene, but it's probably worth illustrating precisely which strain of hardcore I'm referring to. Forget Endstand * or *Arkangel. This is Refused feeding on the remnants on Breach and excreting post-hardcore intelligence through Cult of Luna. Detecting Coal Fields and Saw Mills Buried In A Rain Forest
This little bit of Wilderness has 1440 acres of the old coal field which had a mine shaft at top of the mountain go down to meet a shaft that came in from a river gorge below. Two saw mills went into operation to both supply the coal mine and to export timber. All this fury of activity went on between 1901 and 1926,then the area was abandoned. Local history text describes how due to the steepness of the terrain that literally when the mining company went broke they left all the equipment behind and walked away. This time i got the car as far into forest as i could, found some evidence of coal on the roadside and then began the hike up the mountain through the rain forest. Teknetics T2 detector set to all metal mode with the aim to dig all targets, the more iron i dig the more likely the chance i am near a major site like the mills or one of the 26 homes that used to house families of the workers.

Coalfield Estate: Once tenants now squatters
A group of workers from the Coalfield oil palm plantation in Sungai Buloh are decrying the management's tactics to 'force' them to vacate their houses. Spokesperson Lobat Rajoo said water and electricity supply have been cut to the quarters occupied by 25 families even though negotiations are pending over the eviction order. However, some of the workers, including Lobat's group, do not qualify for bank loans to buy the low-cost houses. Activists and Malaysia Consumer Advisory Association president Varatharajoo Murugan, who accompanied the workers to the NUPW office, had earlier alleged that the state government has not been helpful to the group. Selangor exco member Dr Xavier Jayakumar, who oversees estate workers' affairs, said the state has tried to intervene, even though the matter involves an industrial dispute. I was on board 2340 Down Dhanbad-Howrah Coalfield Express and experienced a parallel running and smooth overtake by 2314 Down New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express.Both the train was running late by 10 minutes and left Durgapur in ASN-BWN section in the same time.Rajdhani was headed by GZB WAP-7 and my Coalfield was headed by MGS WAP-4#22803.

Location: Madhusudanpur Camera: Sony Hx200v Date: 17-08-2012 I first spotted a red loco from the Chandanpur (the next station after Madhusudanpur towards Barddhaman) side on the Down Main Line. I zoomed constantly to it and in the meantime came into view a white elephant on the down reverse. It over took the red bull but somehow stopped after that. The red bull took this advantage and immediately started with full speed to take the revenge of its brothers who were always deprived in front of these white elephants when they were on high priority job. The red bull gave a victory honk and skipped Madhusudanpur. In the meantime white elephant seemed to be tired and started with a tweet. It hopped Madhusudanpur and accelerated to take its revenge. This game went on till Dankuni outer where white elephant was given priority. Red bull is 22415 Howrah WAP 4 Ex. Asansol WAP 6 hauling 12340 Dhanbad - Howrah Coalfield Express. Finally got it !!WAP-7#30295 the only one from HWH shed was gliding through Begampur on a monsoon evening with 12339 Up Howrah Dhanbad Coalfield Express at its tow.Railfan Arindam Ganguli and Vivian Boye can be seen in the video.Fortunately Coalfield was kind enough to keep his Umbrella safe unlike Vivian who was keeping a safe distance from the track after the Sealdah Rajdhani incident :-)
