Sibari (in greco antico: Σύβαρις, Sýbaris) è una frazione del comune di Cassano all'Ionio in Calabria. Fu una delle più importanti città (poleis) della Magna Grecia sul mar Ionio, affacciata sul golfo di Taranto, tra i fiumi Crati (Crathis) e Coscile (Sybaris), riuniti a circa 5 km dal mare ma con foci indipendenti.Tutti gli storici del mondo antico affermavano che Sibari era la colonia più fiorente della Magna Grecia, ma questa aveva tutti i mali e i vizi del mondo. Il personaggio del Sibarita era indicato come simbolo di ozio, lussuria, perfidia, sensualità nelle donne Sibarite, gli storici scrivevano fatti inverosimili su questa polis. Come per esempio che si vestivano con abiti di alta sartoria dell'epoca, oppure che erano in stretti rapporti con gli Etruschi e Ioni, popoli anche loro dediti ad ogni tipo di piacere. Si racconta che erano amanti del buon cibo, e dei grandi ingordi, tanto che spesso organizzavano banchetti a spese dello Stato. Come detto, i Sibariti rivolgevano un'accurata attenzione verso i piaceri sessuali. Si racconta che d'estate le donne si riunivano nelle logge per imparare le tecniche di seduzione da un'istruttrice.
In tutte le città si diceva che a Sibari si stava così bene che si poteva morire solo per scelta!

Places to see in ( Cosenza - Italy )
( Cosenza - Italy ) is the capital of the Province of Cosenza. The ancient town is the seat of the Cosentian Academy, the second academy of philosophical and literary studies to be founded in the Kingdom of Naples (1511) and one of the oldest in Europe. To this day, the city remains a cultural hub with several museums, theatres , libraries and the University of Calabria.
Located at the confluence of two historical rivers, the Busento and the Crathis, Cosenza stands 238 m above sea level in a valley between the Sila plateau and the coastal range of mountains. The old town, overshadowed by its Norman castle, descends to the river Crathis. The modern city lies to the north, beyond the Busento, on level ground. Almost completely surrounded by mountains, Cosenza is subject to a microclimate scarcely influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, with cold winters and hot summers.
Alot to see in ( Cosenza - Italy ) such as :
Church of San Domenico : Founded in 1448, the church combines Renaissance and Medieval elements. Its most interesting feature is the rose window defined by 16 little tuff columns. The wooden portal (1614) is inlaid with floral motifs, figures of saints and coats of arms.
The Cathedral : The exact origins of the Duomo are unknown; it was probably built during the first half of the 11th century. An earthquake destroyed the cathedral on 9 June 1184, and rebuilding was completed by 1222 when the cathedral was consecrated by Emperor Frederick II. At some point during the first half of the 18th century the church was covered by a baroque superstructure which obliterated the original structure and its works of art. In the first half of the 19th century the façade was transformed in neo-gothic style, which completely changed its character. At the end of the 19th century, Archbishop Camillo Sorgente entrusted the work to Pisanti, who recovered the original old arches and the ancient structure of the church. In the 1940s the work was finally completed.
Monastero delle Vergini : In via Gaetano Argento stands the "Convent of the Virgins". The external part of the main entrance is made of decorated tuff, while the internal part is carved of wood.
Giostra Vecchia : In the fifteenth century, at Palazzo Falvo the Renaissance was introduced at Cosenza, in the Giostra Vecchia. Here are located the church and monastery of Saint Francis of Assisi. The Latin cross plan has a nave and two aisles. In the nave stands the impressive high wooden altar built in 1700.
Hohenstaufen Castle : The Castello Svevo (Hohenstaufen Castle) was originally built by the Saracens on the ruins of the ancient Rocca Brutia, around the year 1000.

Crati
The Crati is a river in Calabria, southern Italy. It is the largest river of Calabria and the third largest river of Southern Italy after the Volturno and the Sele. In classical antiquity it was known as the Crathis (Greek: Κρᾶθις).
Geography
The Crati rises in the central Sila Mountains in the comune Aprigliano. It starts at as the Craticello at an elevation of 1,742 meters. It descends very steeply northward towards Cosenza where it is joined on the left by the Busento river, doubling in size. From here on it flows through a large plain, the Vallo del Crati. Here it is joined by several tributaries from the right: the Arente, Mucone (its main tributary on the right) and Duglia rivers. Several smaller streams also join it on the right: the Finita, Turbolo, Cucchiato, Campagnano, Mavigliano and Settimo.
With a discharge of 20 m3/s it continues to Tarsia where a dam forms an artificial lake of the same name. From here it changes course to the northeast and meets with the Coscile river approximately five kilometers from the Gulf of Taranto. The Coscile is its main tributary on the left which again doubles the river in size. It continues eastwards, passing immediately south of the archaeological site of Sybaris and Thurii. Its mouth is near the marina of the comune Corigliano Calabro.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes (commonly shortened to 22 Minutes since 2009) is a weekly Canadian television comedy that airs on CBC Television. Launched in 1993 during Canada's 35th general election, the show focuses on Canadian politics, combining news parody, sketch comedy and satirical editorials. Originally featuring Cathy Jones, Rick Mercer, Greg Thomey and Mary Walsh, the series featured satirical sketches of the weekly news and Canadian political events. The show's format is a mock news program, intercut with comic sketches, parody commercials and humorous interviews of public figures. The on-location segments are frequently filmed with slanted camera angles.
Its full name is a parody of This Hour Has Seven Days, a CBC newsmagazine from the 1960s; the "22 Minutes" refers to the fact that a half-hour television program in Canada and the U.S. is typically 22 minutes long with eight minutes of commercials.
Jones and Walsh had previously worked together on the sketch comedy series CODCO, on which Thomey sometimes appeared as a guest. Mercer had been a notable young writer and performer on his own, touring several successful one-man shows of comedic political commentary.

The ancient town is the seat of the Cosentian Academy, the second academy of philosophical and literary studies to be founded in the Kingdom of Naples (1511) and one of the oldest in Europe. To this day, the city remains a cultural hub with several museums, theatres , libraries and the University of Calabria.
Located at the confluence of two historical rivers, the Busento and the Crathis, Cosenza stands 238 m above sea level in a valley between the Sila plateau and the coastal range of mountains. The old town, overshadowed by its Norman castle, descends to the river Crathis. The modern city lies to the north, beyond the Busento, on level ground. Almost completely surrounded by mountains, Cosenza is subject to a microclimate scarcely influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, with cold winters and hot summers.
Alot to see in ( Cosenza - Italy ) such as :
Church of San Domenico : Founded in 1448, the church combines Renaissance and Medieval elements. Its most interesting feature is the rose window defined by 16 little tuff columns. The wooden portal (1614) is inlaid with floral motifs, figures of saints and coats of arms.
The Cathedral : The exact origins of the Duomo are unknown; it was probably built during the first half of the 11th century. An earthquake destroyed the cathedral on 9 June 1184, and rebuilding was completed by 1222 when the cathedral was consecrated by Emperor Frederick II. At some point during the first half of the 18th century the church was covered by a baroque superstructure which obliterated the original structure and its works of art. In the first half of the 19th century the façade was transformed in neo-gothic style, which completely changed its character. At the end of the 19th century, Archbishop Camillo Sorgente entrusted the work to Pisanti, who recovered the original old arches and the ancient structure of the church. In the 1940s the work was finally completed.
Monastero delle Vergini : In via Gaetano Argento stands the "Convent of the Virgins". The external part of the main entrance is made of decorated tuff, while the internal part is carved of wood.
Giostra Vecchia : In the fifteenth century, at Palazzo Falvo the Renaissance was introduced at Cosenza, in the Giostra Vecchia. Here are located the church and monastery of Saint Francis of Assisi. The Latin cross plan has a nave and two aisles. In the nave stands the impressive high wooden altar built in 1700.
Hohenstaufen Castle : The Castello Svevo (Hohenstaufen Castle) was originally built by the Saracens on the ruins of the ancient Rocca Brutia, around the year 1000.

Cosenza is a city in the Calabria region of Southern Italy. The city proper has a population of 71,000; the urban area counts over 268,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the Province of Cosenza, which has a population of around 735,000. The demonym of Cosenza is cosentino in Italian and Cosentian in English. The ancient town is the seat of the Cosentian Academy, the second academy of philosophical and literary studies to be founded in the Kingdom of Naples (1511) and one of the oldest in Europe. To this day, the city remains a cultural hub in Southern Italy, with several museums, theatres, libraries and the University of Calabria.
Located at the confluence of two historical rivers, the Busento and the Crati, Cosenza stands 238 m above sea level in a valley between the Sila plateau and the coastal range of mountains. The old town, overshadowed by its Norman castle, descends to the river Crati. The modern city lies to the north, beyond the Busento, on level ground. Almost completely surrounded by mountains, Cosenza is subject to a microclimate scarcely influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, with cold winters and hot summers.
From 1806 to 1815 Cosenza fought hard against French domination. Cruel suppressions characterised that period and in 1813 the town, a cradle of the Carbonari secret societies, saw many rebels executed. The local riots of 1821 and 1837 heralded the Risorgimento. They were followed by the uprising of 15 March 1844, which reached its climax with the “noble folly” of the Bandiera Brothers, who were executed together with some of their followers in the Vallone di Rovito in Cosenza. In 1860, some months after the rapid and overwhelmingly heroic deeds of Garibaldi’s troops, a plebiscite proclaimed the annexation of Calabria to the new Kingdom of Italy.

Rende is a town and comune in Calabria, southern Italy, home to the headquarters of the University of Calabria. It has a population of about 35,000, or more than 60,000 if the university students living there are taken into account.
( Rende - Italy ) is divided in two parts: the old town, which is stands on a high hill, and the modern area, on level ground, which is part of the urban area of Cosenza and is the centre of the city's economy.
Rende has several attractions, including the biggest shopping mall in southern Italy, called Metropolis, and the Robinson Park, the most popular recreational park in the whole urban area of Cosenza. The city has two museums, the Museo Civico di Rende and the Museo del Presente, as well as the Orto Botanico dell'Università della Calabria, a botanical garden.
The Norman castle was built at the site in 1095 by Bohemond d'Hauteville, that elected it as their base before leaving for the first crusade in August 1096. The realization of the manor in Rende was the beginning of a larger project suggested years earlier by Robert Guiscard, Bohemond father, to build a defensive line in the valley of the Crati with fortresses in Bisignano, Montalto Uffugo, Rende and Cosenza. The peculiar morphology of the hill where was erected the "Giant of Stone" guaranteed an extremely easy posting to defend, and the steep slopes, which stand out upwards to form a wedge, saved such security that was believed unnecessary the creation of ditch and drawbridge. The castle was instead provided with small windows and many loopholes, which could be used bows and crossbows; also was built in the courtyard outside a huge cistern to collect rainwater that guaranteed a safe supply during sieges. Impassable walls (the base was more than two metres) guaranteed the protection of homes, churches, and other defensive structures, in particular the castle with the central tower and two other towers, placed on the sides. The three towers are the emblem of the town, probably their first appearance as a banner municipal was in 1222 for the inauguration of the cathedral of Cosenza in the presence of Frederick II. Still in public areas of the castle, you can admire two coats of arms belonging to two families in successive ownership of the castle: Magdalone (on the left side) and Alarcón de Mendoza(on the right side).

Fields Avenue Walking Street developed to service the American Clark Air Base which was operational from 1903 to 1991. The infamous Angeles City Bars have remained and now service sex tourists from around the globe. Of late there has been a increase in South Korean ownership of both bars and brothels.
I heard about Angeles City while in Borneo. I was getting a flight from Kota Kinabulu to Clark International Airport and met a guy who had just flown in from the Philippines. He told me Angeles City was the cesspit of the Philippines, a vipers nest of crime, corruption and sleaze. He told me I should avoid it at all costs.
I decided I needed to film it!
I met an Australian bar owner who had been there since the days of the Clark Air Base. He told me South Korean Crime Gangs had recently started buying into Fields Avenue. He told me quite emphatically that I could be killed if I was caught filming.
I spent two nights casing out the Avenue. I found a bar where I was allowed to film inside (if I bought all the girls drinks!) The Aussie Bar Owner, seeing I was not going to leave without some footage, told me I could film from the roof of his bar. He told me if I was caught, he would deny knowing me.
Humans love a car wreck! We can't help but stare at and judge other's misfortune. How do you feel after watching the video? Comment below..
Dennis O'Rourke's 'The Good Women of Bangkok is maybe the finest documentary ever made on Sex Tourism. Dennis became a paying customer of the prostitute he interviewed, no longer was he just the observer.
I detest Western Journalist who put a 'holy than thou' slant on these stories. The cold hard facts are that in a large part of the world, prostitution is one of the few options young women have to make big money!
I have added no commentary to this video, I want the viewer to watch it and judge via their own prejudices.

Ang Aussie May-ari ng Bar , nakakakita ng hindi ako ay pagpunta sa umalis nang ilang footage , sinabi sa akin kaya kong pelikula mula sa roof ng kanyang bar .
