Drill, Jimmy, Drill!
Instead of today's corporate monoliths, Jimmy Stewart is the face of offshore oil drilling in the 1953 sleeper, "Thunder Bay". His dreamer/schemer stops at nothing 'til he hits the big gusher. Some things never change. When things go bad, the blow out preventer doesn't work. See Hollywood's version of how drilling in the Gulf of Mexico began...

ANTHONY MANN DIRECTS JAMES STEWART
[PLEASE READ] Dramatic intensity unrivalled out West. One of the finest videos associated with this channel. James Stewart was one of the most intense actors ever to portray a cowboy lead in movie Westerns. Director Anthony Mann, a particularly adroit "hydraulic engineer," knew how to make use of Stewart's "deep waters" for maximum dramatic impact. Together, they lent their fine talents to the five superlative Westerns featured (in brief clips) in this video. Until creative contention spoiled their working relationship on the set of NIGHT PASSAGE(1957), Stewart and Mann flourished together. Additional team-ups included work on THUNDER BAY (1953), THE GLENN MILLER STORY (1953), and STRATEGIC AIR COMMAND (1955). IMPORTANT: This is a video of goodwill and great admiration.Questions or comments are sincerely welcome—but only if they are nice, clean, and comprehendible. If you are a professional and prefer that I delete this video, please contact me and it will promptly be done.

Tribute to Harry Morgan. Remembering Dobie Gray.
The Best Second Banana And The In Crowd In film and television, Harry Morgan played the "second banana" for a half-century and no one did it better. From Westerns to comedies, his versatility showed through and made him familiar to millions. He is best known for two roles - Officer Bill Gannon of the LAPD working with Sgt. Joe Friday, and Col. Sherman Potter of the 4077th, the commanding officer in MASH. Dobie Gray was a pop/soul/ rock singer who recorded an iconic hit in the 1960's, The In Crowd and another in the 1970's, Drift Away. Harry Morgan (born Harry Bratsberg, often spelled Harry Bratsburg;[6][7][8][9] April 10, 1915 -- December 7, 2011) was a prolific American actor and director, whose television and film career spanned six decades. Morgan's major roles included Pete Porter in both December Bride (1954--1959) and Pete and Gladys (1960--1962); Officer Bill Gannon on Dragnet (1967--1970); Amos Coogan on Hec Ramsey (1972--1974); and Colonel Sherman T. Potter in M*A*S*H (1975--1983) and AfterMASH (1983--1984). Morgan also appeared in more than 100 films. Morgan made his screen debut (originally using the name "Henry Morgan") in the 1942 movie To the Shores of Tripoli. His screen name later would become "Henry 'Harry' Morgan" and eventually Harry Morgan, to avoid confusion with the popular humorist of the same name. In the same year, Morgan appeared in the movie Orchestra Wives as a young man pushing his way to the front of a ballroom crowd with his date to hear ...

Bob Costas on Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe
On January 1, 2008 during the 1st intermission of the NHL's Winter Classic outdoor game in Buffalo, NBC showed a 1 minute and 15 second piece on the movie Slapshot and the Ogilthorpe, Bill Goldthorpe connection to Bob Costas. Costas once did radio play-by-play for a team that Bill Goldthorpe played on in 1973-74, the Syracuse Blazers (NAHL). Bill "Goldie" Goldthorpe (b. June 20, 1953 in Hornepayne, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey left winger who played for 16 minor league teams between 1973 to 1984, playing exhibition games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Pittsburgh Penguins. Goldthorpe grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, is widely regarded as one of the most infamous hockey enforcers to have ever played the game, a man once dubbed the "wildest, meanest, most unpredictable player in hockey," earning an amazing 1132 penalty minutes in 194 professional games. He was the inspiration for the character Ogie Ogilthorpe in the 1977 film Slap Shot. www.goldiegoldthorpe.com

Conway Scenic: Thunder in the Mountains!
It`s Sunday, July 31st. The Conway Scenic Railroad and the Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts had a special trip through Crawford Notch. This wasn`t any ordinary trip though, this special train was powered by Conway Scenic`s steam locomotive, ex-Canadian National 7470. The train ran from North Conway to Hazens via Crawford Notch. This had been the first time since 1953 that a steam locomotive had been as far west as Hazens. Stokley Rail Productions brings you trackside as the train ran from North Conway to Hazens. So sit back and watch as 7470 pulls her train through the Mount Washington Valley from North Conway to Fabyan Station.

Underground Bases Around The World
Underground Bases Around The World Must See! Very Interesting Research! Underground bases that are all over the world. While his focus of study is mainly in the United States, he said countries such as China, Russia, England, Australia, Saudi Arabia, and Israel also have such facilities. Examples of underground bases in North America include the Cheyenne Mountain facility associated with NORAD, Thunder Bay in Canada run by NATO, and a complex in suburban Maryland. The White House, itself, has some 17 levels underground, a witness reported to him. According to mining documents, it's feasible to sink a shaft as far down as two miles, and then drive a tunnel out from the shaft. Sauder suggested that the US Naval facility at China Lake may have used such technology in building a submarine base there. He believes Area 51 and other military complexes may house recovered alien craft in their subterranean chambers. Some underground facilities have huge cavernous spaces such as 600 ft. wide and 1100 ft. tall, but you'd never know they are there walking on the ground over them, he added. Sauder contends there could be a secret space program, and he cited R & D reports done at Los Alamos on how to use machines to make tunnels on the Moon-- described as "cutting through rock like butter." There's also documentation on nuclear-powered tunneling machines. Anti-gravity research documents seem to dry up in the 1960s, but he suspects this technology just went classified, and it could be ...

Buffalo Springfield - "Mr. Soul" (1967) "On The Way Home" (1968)
*N0TE* The following sound recording,"NEIL YOUNG-Mr. Soul", is owned and administered by: WMG (Warner Music Group) All Rights Reserved *Photos used are a combination of past and present members of Buffalo Springfield Buffalo Springfield is a North American folk rock band renowned both for its music and as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina. Among the first wave of North American bands to become popular in the wake of the British invasion, the group combined rock, folk, and country music into a sound all its own. Its million-selling song "For What It's Worth" became a political anthem for the turbulent late 1960s. Formed in April 1966, Buffalo Springfield was plagued by infighting, drug-related arrests, and line-up changes that led to the group's disbanding after just two years. Three albums were released under its name, but many demos, studio outtakes and live recordings remained and were issued in the decades that followed. Despite the band's short tenure and limited output it was one of the most influential of its era, earning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame recognition and spawning fellow Hall honorees Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Poco, as well as popular acts Loggins and Messina and Crazy Horse. Neil Young and Stephen Stills first crossed paths in 1965 at the Fourth Dimension in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Young was there with The Squires, a Winnipeg group he had been leading since February 1963, and Stills was on tour ...

20th Century Fox 1981 abridged fanfare
From the 1986 remake of The Fly. Also seen on current prints of Thunder & Lightning or the 2011 Shout DVD, or the 1977 film Damination Alley (before the 1953 Fox logo), or the 1993 film The Sandlot. I think this logo plastering over the 1953 logo, but the '53 logo is intact on TV prints or the 2006 Anchor Bay DVD, I do not know. All credit goes to Ridgerazarsixtyfour.
