Ayman Mohyeldin (Arabic: أيمن محيى الدين‎, IPA: [ˈʔæjmæn ˈmoħj edˈdiːn]; born April 18, 1979) is an Arab-American journalist based in Los Angeles for NBC. Previously he worked for Al Jazeera and CNN, Ayman was one of the first western journalists allowed to enter and report on the handing over and trial of the deposed President of Iraq Saddam Hussein by the Iraqi Interim Government for crimes against humanity. More recently, Ayman has covered the December 2008 Israeli campaign in Gaza as well as the Arab Spring.

Mohyeldin was born in Cairo, Egypt to an Egyptian father, and a Palestinian mother. He grew up in Egypt, and the United States. He has lived extensively in the Arab World with two years in Iraq (2003–2005) as a foreign news producer with CNN. Mohyeldin received his undergraduate education at American University in Washington D.C., earning a BA in International Relations with a focus on the European Union. He received an MA in International Politics with a focus on Peace and Conflict Resolution. His graduate thesis was entitled "The News Media Paradigm in the War on Terrorism" was accepted by the International Association of Media Researcher's Conference in Barcelona, Spain (2002)

Glenn Greenwald (born March 6, 1967) is an American lawyer, columnist, blogger, and author. Greenwald worked as a constitutional and civil rights litigator before becoming a contributor (columnist and blogger) to Salon.com, where he focuses on political and legal topics. He has also contributed to other newspapers and political news magazines, including The New York Times,The Los Angeles Times,The Guardian,The American Conservative,The National Interest, and In These Times.

Greenwald has written four books, three of which have been New York Times bestsellers: How Would a Patriot Act? (2006); A Tragic Legacy (2007), and With Liberty and Justice for Some: How the Law Is Used to Destroy Equality and Protect the Powerful, released in October 2011. He also wrote Great American Hypocrites (2008).

In March 2009, he was selected, along with Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!, as the recipient of the first annual Izzy Award by the Park Center for Independent Media, an award named after independent journalist I.F. "Izzy" Stone and devoted to rewarding excellence in independent journalism. The selection panel cited Greenwald's "pathbreaking journalistic courage and persistence in confronting conventional wisdom, official deception and controversial issues."

George Galloway (born 16 August 1954) is a British politician, author, journalist, and broadcaster, and the Respect Member of Parliament (MP) for Bradford West. He was previously an MP for the Labour Party, for Glasgow Hillhead and then its successor constituency Glasgow Kelvin from 1987 until 2005. He was expelled from the Labour Party in October 2003 because of his strident public opposition to the Iraq War. He subsequently became a founding member of the left-wing Respect Party, and was elected as the MP for Bethnal Green and Bow in 2005. In 2010, Galloway unsuccessfully contested the seat of Poplar and Limehouse, and in 2011 he unsuccessfully contested the Glasgow list for the Scottish Parliament, before being elected as an MP in the Bradford West by-election, 2012.

Galloway is well known for his campaigns in support of the Palestinians in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. In the late-1980s Hansard records him delivering a ferocious assault on the Ba'ath regime, and Galloway opposed Saddam's regime until the United States-led Gulf War in 1991. Galloway is known for a visit to Iraq where he met Saddam Hussein, and delivered a speech, which ended in English with the statement "Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability." He has always stated that he was addressing the Iraqi people in the speech. Galloway testified to the United States Senate in 2005 over alleged illicit payments from the United Nations' Oil for Food Programme.

Sherine Tadros is an Arab-British journalist based in the Middle East. She is a correspondent for Al Jazeera English and based in Doha, Qatar.

After obtaining two degrees in Middle East politics, Tadros worked for the Al-Arabiya network as executive producer, before joining Al Jazeera in 2005.

During the 2008–2009 Israel–Gaza conflict, Sherine and Ayman Mohyeldin, her co-reporter at Al Jazeera, were the only journalists for the English-language news media reporting from inside Gaza. Foreign press access to Gaza had been limited via either Egypt or Israel. However, Sherine and Ayman were already inside Gaza when the conflict began. She also covered the 2011 Egyptian revolution during the latter stages of the unrest.

In 2012, Sherine Tadros was awarded the Breakaway Award at the 8th annual International Media Awards in London.

Rula Jebreal (Arabic: رولا جبريل) (born on April 24, 1973 in Haifa, Israel) is an Italo-Palestinian journalist novelist, and screenwriter with both Israeli and Italian citizenship.

She grew up in Jerusalem. Jebreal's father worked as a groundskeeper at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Her mother died when she was 5. She and her sister Rania were put into the Dar El-Tifel orphanage by their father in 1978 until 1991. She was educated in the orphanage, and then received a scholarship from the Italian government to study medicine at the University of Bologna, where she graduated with a degree in physiotherapy. She worked as a physiotherapist while she went back to the University of Bologna and earned her masters in Journalism and Political Science.

Jebreal became the first foreign anchorwoman in the history of Italian television, winning a Media Watch award for her coverage of the Iraq War, and by age 33 earned the highest journalism award, the International Ischia Award for Best Journalist of the Year. Jebreal worked as a journalist in Italy for twelve years, earning a reputation for being one of the toughest interviewers for her interviews with such figures as Prime Minister Massimo D'Alema, Silvio Berlusconi, Bill Gates, President Abu Mazen, Bernard Kouchner, Mohammed ElBaradei, and Ingrid Betancourt. In 2006 she became the co-presenter of Anno Zero, the most important and controversial political television show in Italy, together with Michele Santoro. In 2008 Jebreal created her own television show in Cairo at Al-Qahira Wal-Nas, (Cairo Centric) television station, where she filmed 30 episodes covering politics, economy, and the collapse of society in Egypt under the Mubarrak regime.
